Nice to meet you, just call me Liam.
There's not too much to say about myself really, I'm just your average guy who loves beer, food and is a bit of an otaku. Um, I speak English & Japanese and
I'm planning I want to move to Japan in the near-future.
I think that's it for the basics...
Like many people on this website, I love anime, doujinshi, eroge, figures, light-novels, manga, music, video-games & visual-novels. I grew up watching anime from a young age, anime such as
Dragonball,
Mobile Suit Gundam &
Sailor Moon. It wasn't until I started to earn money before I became a fully-fledged connoisseur of anime and Japanese pop-culture. My favorite anime will always be
Neon Genesis Evangelion. I'd rather not know how many times I've watched it through... Anyway, I have no specific preferences with anime, I'll watch pretty much anything as long as it's good. I probably rate anime too highly, but I rate based on personal enjoyment rather than critique. Anything nine or higher has left a lasting impression on me.
I think I was about eleven years old when I read my first doujinshi, it was a random
Bulma doujin that my friend pilfered from his older brother and gave to me. Needless to say, that book got a lot of use as I 'grew up'. My favorite doujin artist is definitely
Ishikei, but I'm also a big fan of
Hyocorou too. As for eroge, I just bought a few out of curiosity and before I knew it my collection grew quite a bit, haha!
俺は変態ですね、知っている。。。うるさい
I'm also a big figure collector. The first figure was I had ever bought was
Chii from
Chobits in a pink maid outfit. Ever since then I've been addicted to buying more and now my room is full of them, haha!
As for light novels, my first was the
Haruhi Suzumiya series but my favorite has to be the
Ore no Imouto ga Konnani Kawaii Wake ga Nai series. There are so many interesting characters and I found I could relate to
Kirino's lifestyle quite a bit. It really is a touching story at times... Talking of touching stories,
Toradora! follows very, very, very-close behind.
Ami &
Taiga now please!
Rurouni Kenshin was the first manga I bought and to this day, it's still one of my favorites and
Kenshin will always be my favorite protagonist. The number one spot was snatched away by
Berserk and I doubt it'll ever move. As soon as I set my eyes on it I knew it was something special, I just couldn't stop reading it. However, now I have to wait months on end just to read the next chapter...
建さん、早くー!待ちきれないよ But seriously, if I had to recommend one manga to somebody, this is the one for sure!
I've always loved music and I've grown up within the music scene, I've also played drums and sang in a few bands. I have a very varied taste in music, I like J-rock, J-pop, anything from electronica to hardcore-punk, folk-rock to classical. I'm also a massive
Vocaloid fan and I absolutely love
Miku-chan.
絶対領域とツインテール大好き! I actually own the software for
Hatsune Miku,
Miku Append,
IA &
MAYU, so hopefully I'll make some good music people will appreciate someday. Oh yeah, of course I love many anime songs too! I'm looking at you
K-On!
Where do I even start with Videogames? My earliest memory of playing video-games was the Sega Megadrive, ever since then I've always been an avid gamer. My favorite franchise of all time has to be the
Metal Gear Solid franchise, but I'm also a big fan of the
Persona,
Project DIVA &
Touhou Project games. If you use Steam, my profile link is under 'website' at the top of this page.
Last but not least, visual-novels! I love
Type-Moon's visual-novels, especially the
Fate series thanks to
Illya-chan &
Saber. I am also fond of the
Muv-Luv series,
Kara no Shoujo &
Saya no Uta.
Anyway I like to think I'm a nice guy and I'd love to talk to people who share the same interests as me, so please don't hesitate to send me a comment, message or even a friend request. Thanks for visiting, またねぇー!

Haha maybe, will have to see where i get in first
Index is the main series, Railgun is a sidestory so Index first, up to the last volume of the first season of Index right now and it is great. I watched the anime first which covers like hte first 13 volumes.
Well Utsuro no Hako to Zero no Maria is 6 volumes and the final volume is supposed to come out this year, but also getting it might be hard, something about publisher (so its not on MAL either) but you can get it from BakaTsuki fully translated. Romance school supernatural story and the character development is really good.
Zaregoto is by the same person of Bakemonogatari (One of my favorite anime/LN) so if u like it you definitely will like Zaregoto, its a mystery/detective story
Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei is magical/school story which is really interesting. The characters are good and the plot is pretty interesting, only read the first 3 volumes so far, but the author is aiming at 20-25 volumes in total.
I'd say read either Index or Mahouka first :)
Watching a bunch, best ones from this season for me are Monogatari Second Season, KamiNomi 3, Highschool DxD, Danganronpa and Watamote
I only have a few: a small Zakuro and Ichigo from Tokyo Mew Mew, a medium sized, higher quality Rei, and a large Rio from Rio ~Rainbow Gate~. I've won/traded for them all, I have no money to buy figures haha~
Oh my God, I thought the SAME THING! Especially since that seems to be what Ritsuko/Lilith types on Maya's keyboard and such...
Oh, awesome! I have very few figures, but one of them (my best) is Rei~ (I may have mentioned that already?)
Yeah, I'm kind of a completionist, so I was to buy the Comic Tribute sometime~ plus the fact that a new Eva manga came out in the US makes me happy, since most current anime fans here (the young ones, teens and such) aren't really aware of it :(
LOL
Don't own many light novels cause not a lot in english, but have Zaregoto, Haruhi and Book Girl, but most of the light novels i read are just from translators, like have over 100 pdfs downloaded to still get through.
Index light novel is great, up to the last arc of the first season and its really good.
Right now my favourite light novels are HateMaria, Mahouka koukou no rettousei and Zaregoto, have you read them?
Yeah, some shows just can't watch cause the episodes have like no plot movement
Which shows are you watching now?
I've never played the game, but if I had I may have liked it more, yeah~ Maya is awesome, I liked her~ She has such a crush on Ritsuko, I think.
Yeah, I flipped through it once and it was funny enough that I would buy it~
Yeah, Misato's a lot of fun. I like how she's a complex adult character, as opposed to other anime with one-note adults. Ritsuko is really great, too. One of my favorite episodes is 21, "The Birth of Nerv", the one that shows Ritsuko, Naoko and Gendo and how they relate to each other. And I love "Lilliputian Hitcher" too, great episode about Ritsuko.
I need to read the manga~ the Angelic Days manga and the Shinji Ikari Raising Project manga aren't that good, in my opinion, but I really liked the Campus Apocalypse manga, it was a lot of fun. I want to read that new "Comic Tribute" too~
I really like Asuka, even though at the beginning I wasn't fond of her. By the end I thought she was awesome~ I like Misato a lot, too.
I like the Rebuild films- they're different, but they aren't bad. Studio khara does nice work~ I haven't seen the third one yet, I can't wait for it to come out over here~
In America, Viz Media is putting out new omnibus editions of Sadamoto's manga version, I really want to start getting those. Have you read any of the Eva manga?
Yes, I am~ I didn't get a chance to watch it for a few years, but once I got my hands on the DVDs I was hooked. I have the TV series, Death + Rebirth, the Director's Cut editions of the last two discs, and both Rebuild movies. If only the EoE DVD was easier to find!!! (I have seen EoE though, I just don't own it).
Hahaha, i'm so jealous, can't read japanese so have to wait for someone to translate LN into english and that's like 50% luck. At least have a bunch of ones that're already translated, reading Index right now and up to the last arc of the first season. Which other LN do you have?
Yeah a lot of uncensored ecchi, but the plot is pretty good, most of the people i know who have watched it have enjoyed the story. It's not like most other heavy ecchi shows where the plot is almost non-existant
