Would you look at that! It's time for the obligatory Profile Page rundown! I am Zelkiiro, as you can see. I am a mild-mannered writer by day, but at night, I moonlight as a degenerate anime fan...sometimes. When I'm not in the mood for anime, you'll find me rollin' dice in Dungeons & Dragons, or perhaps creating new teams in Final Fantasy Brave Exvius, or listening to metal, skate punk, J-Pop, and movie/game soundtracks! The sky truly is the limit!
What do I want in my anime, you might ask? First and foremost, I want well-written (or at the very least interesting) characters--if your characters are as cold and stiff as The Major's tits in the 1995 Ghost in the Shell film, you've just killed your story, in my eyes. Doesn't matter if it's a wacky comedy or a grimdark tragedy, if I can't get into the characters, the series stands no chance at succeeding. If the series has a plot, then that's the next important aspect that must be rock-solid, and if the series has no plot (e.g. it's a slice-of-life), then the situational writing better deliver the goods.
As for specific genres and tropes, I'm a big sucker for Pyrrhic victories, cyberpunk, space operas/dramas/anythings, classic Gainax/Hiroyuki Imaishi/Hideaki Anno insanity, ensemble casts, heavy themes, medieval fantasy, dystopian futures, sci-fi of almost any kind, and some good old-fashioned comedy. Come to think of it, I'm not really all that picky--I will pretty much watch anything as long as it's good. But those are the kinds of things that instantly grab my eye and compel me to take a look.
And now, I suppose this is where I post what my 1-10 ratings mean, because apparently people don't know how to actually use the scoring system. I will show you how to do it properly! Here we go!
10/10 - Hot damn, this anime is near-perfection. Heavy contender to enter my favorite anime/manga of all time list.
9/10 - Holy crap, this anime/manga is amazing, and also has a high chance of making it onto my favorites list.
8/10 - Hey, this anime/manga is pretty great. Sure, it's got a major problem here and there, but what can ya do.
7/10 - Yep, this is a pretty good anime/manga. It's got problems, but on the whole, a satisfying viewing/reading experience was had by all.
6/10 - This anime/manga is alright. Nothin' special, nothin' fancy--just alright.
5/10 - Bleh. Just...bleh. There is nothing worse than mediocrity, and this anime/manga defines mediocrity.
4/10 - Bleehhhh. Typically doesn't even have the courtesy of being so-bad-it's-good.
3/10 - Ugh. This anime/manga sucked to sit through.
2/10 - Uggghhhh. This anime/manga is almost unbearable on every level.
1/10 - Trash. Irredeemable trash. This is your Kimera or your Lucky Star. This series will ruin my goddamn life.
And now that we've covered that, it's time for me to bid you adieu. Enjoy the .gifs and make sure you listen to every single thing I say because I am always correct and anyone who says differently is incorrect and, since I am always correct, you can trust me to be correct in stating that they are incorrect. The dirty, lousy, contrarian bastards.
UPDATE 11/13/2022: As of today, I will be abandoning my long-held policy of "finish it no matter what." I'm getting older, and my time is more precious now. Screw sitting through something I'm not enjoying.

Well, thanks a lot!
So I noticed your signature in forum thread, looks really great. I wanna ask something about it, and you mention this user Mayumi, but apparently this Mayumi guy doesn't seem to log on to MAL since a while ago (or probably I'm checking a wrong user). So I thought I'll just ask you.
How do you give that effect of fire ashes animation on your signature?
I personally strive to be like those drones. Giving a reason for your personal enjoyment or dis-enjoyment is pointless. What effect does it even have? It doesn't change the fact if you enjoyed something or not.
"I liked Thor, it was a fun sci-fi film reminiscent of 50s serials." is just a glorified way of saying "I liked Thor, it was good." Or, it is an additional compliment over the fact that you enjoyed Thor. It is not the "reason". Crude entertainment doesn't need to have a reason/
There are so many aspects to a story that encapsulating everything in a single "reason for enjoying" doesn't do the actual experience any justice. And if you try deciphering all the reasons why you enjoyed something, then thats just a tedious task.
A Person himself has many aspect. I can read berserk, give it a 10, then watch SAO and say that I prefered my experience. (this is just an example). Now if you try and breakdown the reason for my experience, what will you say?
"you just like it more because you like simple shows"
Then what if I put Tatami galaxy above SAO?
"you disliked something about Berserk"
I gave it a 10. Didn't have any flaws that mattered.
"You are nostalgic about SAO"
Not really
The best explanation is, "I liked SAO more" and idk why myself. (This was just an example)
This just my opinion. Its fine if you disagree. Have a great day.
is this satire? If it is then sorry, to me it just sounds like an arrogant remark.
what type of people matter then? matter for what? why do you care about that matter?
if you said this without much thought, then I'm sorry. Have a great day.
