I like Animation due to the immense creativity and variety rarely found elsewhere. I rate mostly on enjoyment; I can knock off points if I wanna be critical, but I had fun and that's what matters to me. I'm all about the hype but I enjoy every genre (so far... 😀) My rating system works for shows, but movies (and shorts) have different intents so they're tricky.

5= just okay, the good was crossed out by the bad, 50/50
6= more good than bad but significantly flawed in a way
7= good, enjoyed it but flawed, "averagely" entertaining,
8= Liked it a lot despite flaws, way above average. Small things stood out as bad
9= Loved it but noticed some flaws
10 Loved it and any flaws didn't affect my enjoyment + emotional connection

For a manga reader, the anime lacks the introspection to engage with the characters' absolute terror. It is somewhat an adventure with a few frightening scenes, closer to a thriller than a horror. There were a few really good long unbroken takes that instilled dread that could only be done in an anime. It missed the mark, though it will get scarier in the second season. I'd recommend checking that out in 2020.
