I try to be as subjective as possible and not too influenced and biased by people's mainstream taste of anime (even though we all are to some extent)
From this i noticed that what matter the most for me is authenticity and growth in characters as i could relate to them, it has to feel natural for me. After all emotions is what lies behind every of our actions no matter how stoic and rational you wanna be, we cannot escape them
Storytelling has to be done right depending on what the show is about, there's no right way to to it, it depends on the vibe and the structure of what i conveyed
Soundtrack can enhance or diminish the experience, so that's also something crucial as they can either ruin or enhance the emotions behind scenes
Interactions should feel genuine and not unnatural, i both hate and find hilarious how sometimes it's way too dumb and cliche lmao
Shows with a rating of 7/10 and above are recommended by me
2 Special mentions
Sword art online:
This is my first ever watched anime as a teenager and made me discover them. That's why my rating for SAO is kinda biased, i remember liking it a lot even though after rewatching it i found that it felt too cliche but still alright as i accept to be biased and nostalgic despite all the negative points i overlooked from my first watch
Your name:
First anime/movie watched in cinema. It was one of the first time i've been blown away from a show, it made me discover new feelings and reinforced my love for anime, this is not in my top 8 but it was really good
My rating of anime:
10: Perfection, unfortunate or for the best, nothing is perfect, no anime can be 10
9: Masterpieces, they awoken a wide range of emotions and completely immersed me in their world. They feature great storytelling paired with realistic and charming characters. While they may have minor flaws, these are so insignificant that they don’t detract from how incredible the show is. A true masterpiece brings together everything I love, embodying elements and lessons that resonate deeply and can be applied to my own life
8: Amazing, can easily recommend, lot of pros and few cons that don't impede the overall experience, something magical is found here, whether it's from the characters, the vibe and atmosphere or storytelling contributing to my enjoyment and fulfillment
7: Great, quite appreciated alongside unique element(s) but have downsides that can bother me a little when watching making it less immersive and enjoyable, the pleasure coming from it is here and can still recommend for people open-minded to just enjoy and not too focused on criticizing and finding cons
6: Decent, above average, some qualities accompanied with defaults ,lack something to make it more full, still appreciated in general for a good passing time moment
5: Average, nothing stand-out, mundane feelings about it, , cannot really recommend because the enjoyment isn't here
