How I judge anime/manga series, ranked in order of importance along with an explanation of each criteria:
1.) Exposition / Plot / Story
Must be well executed, transitions smoothly from one event to the next, and doesn't contain MASSIVE plot-holes.
2.) Character
How each important character is portrayed, their interactions and reactions towards their environment and to those around them, and their personal development throughout the story.
3.) Practicality
How practical something is within the context of said universe.
I try not judge an anime based on audio or video quality because it can be misleading.
