My rating method:
My rating scores are usually from 7 and up(with a very few exceptions) and I will explain why below. Also my ratings are not static and can change over time. I usually change ratings in series in currently watching or re-watching.
#≤5 - these ratings are reserved for dropped anime depending on the reasons.
#6 - I give this rating to any anime that falls below expectations but is still [barely] watchable.
#7 - this is my base score for any series I feel are worth watching till the end. This rating is for series that while are not great are good enough to be watched and enjoyed.
#8 - this is the average rating for most of the enjoyable series. These shows are good but are not better than the rest, "mainstream" should be the correct word here.
#9 - this rating is for shows that are above the rest and are very recommended. These fail to be best they can be for some reason or another. The most common reason being for ongoing seasons, having incomplete or vague endings or having a too slow "buildup". This is the highest rating for ongoing or incomplete anime series.
#10 - this is close to anime nirvana for me. There may not be a perfect single anime series but these are close calls. This rating is reserved for anime with an outstanding story and complete endings. Those anime may have some faults but these are minor enough not to eclipse the show in any way. Anime with ongoing seasons are not qualified for a 10, unless the current storyline closes with each season.
About me:
I like anime and I decide what to watch next based on the "mood I'm at the moment. I'm not fan of an specific genre though I tend to favor "slice of life"and "drama" series. I always prefer any anime that has a complete ending or a good closure, but unfortunately most don't. When I start watching an anime series I usually watch it till the end unless is total trash. I usually never watch more than 1 series at the same time unless I'm watching an ongoing season(s) or I haven't got the next episodes for the show. I prefer watching completed series as I don't like to wait for new episodes, but since spring 2011, I've started to watch current seasons as well.
First Anime ever watched: Tekkaman Blade
