Well, don't delve into the forums too far you might find there's posts like that too. I think most people just gravitate toward others who have their similar taste so there doesn't tend to be too much disagreement about series in profiles. Although I have heard some of the popular reviewers tend to get comments like that.
Then you should be somewhere around where I'm at, I think. Haha, shame you were so sleepy but it's hard to stay completely awake through classes. Even if Japanese is interesting, life as a college student is pretty brutal. Procrastination is the worst, but if you spent three years on it you don't want to lose it. I'll try writing some Japanese and you can respond as you can. If you need help with kanji, the extension rikaichan (firefox) or rikaikun (chrome) is awesome.
そうえいば、敬語(けいご)を使わなくてもいいよ。もっと日本語で練習すれば、上手になるよね。ここまで読みやすかったの?思わないなら、教えて!
まずはね、専攻(せんこう)は何?
Let me know if the kanji is still too much or anything you don't understand. If you decide you'd rather not practice that's fine too!
You definitely meet some characters in there for sure. I really loved my classmates, they were really fun and we were all mutually miserable courtesy the mysteries of Japanese, lol. :) I am sure you will find some interesting people in the MAL community too. I have made a few long-lasting friends from here so I can say that if you look you can find some truly amazing people here. I don't peruse the forums much so I can't speak for them but on the whole the community seems pretty laid-back and fun?
Pfft, you type quite a bit during conversations, I did say essay-length responses in regards to Japanese but I was understating my ability to be long-winded. Don't worry, you're in good company here, lol :) And exactly! I think you have to watch some truly awful anime to appreciate how amazing the good ones are when they come along. Although I'd prefer to avoid touching anything like Samurai Flamenco or Togainu no Chi again for the foreseeable future... if possible.
Mind me asking where you're at, studies-wise? Or level-wise if you would like to rank yourself on the JLPT scale. I don't mind typing to you in Japanese if you're interested in the practice. God knows I can use every little bit I can get too. The best way to improve is through use - "language is a tool," as they say. :) Although I'm equally fine with discussing the language and culture in English, haha. God knows it's the only language I'm fluent in.
The compliments mean a lot - I just hoped to be able to describe even a little how touching and life changing Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso was for me. It's really a brilliant series, although I cried my eyes out at the finale. Ha, I'm glad you think I have good taste. I usually get teased about being too critical about series. :D
Feel free to message or chat about anything with me. If it pertains to Japanese you're likely to get an essay length response with gushing, just as a warning! :D And don't worry about being inarticulate - not that I think you are - but I'm basically the most awkward person alive when it comes to communication. Reviews are one thing, but people? How do conversation
