---------------------------------NICE TO MEET YOU!---------------------------------
Hello! I'm Vondervent himself, the very same from the legends!!
Uh, forgive me, at the time I'm writing these greetings I'm in a pretty joyful mood (I can't help it, almost every day is great to me but today was particularly pleasant to get through :), plus I'm sorta sleepy.
But anyways, this "session" is not just to present myself, but also an attempt to show as much as possible of me so the odds of you regretting texting me get lower... I guess.
Well, I consider one of my biggest traits to be how much of a dreamer I am. I'm an ambitious young man who aspires to achieve quite a few things, the most important to me being to write down a story I can be proud of.
I also have a massive passion towards new experiences. Usually for learning purposes but also because it's fun, and if I'm doing so alongside someone, it's more likely to be even more delightful.
I was absolutely honest in it, so... Well just friend request me on discord, I'm active almost everyday aa good night.
Age: 20 years old.
Languages: Portuguese (native) / English (ALMOST fluent) || One of my many silly dreams is to become a polyglot, I didn't really took my time to "pick enough" languages, even though it's something I really want to achieve. However, I did pick german as my third language and I look fondly to japanese too!
Likes: Manga, coffee, lists, art, new experiences, solo walkings, overthink and himself.
Dislikes: Sleep, eat, noise and adaptations.
Particular interests: Flags, languages and VIKINGS.
Discord:『Vondervent』#9254

Favorite movie: Good Will Hunting.
Favorite book: 1984.
Favorite Superhero: Green Lantern.
Hi! Even if we disagree, that’s okay as long we can have understanding conversations ^^
But yes!! shouwa genroku is practically amazing in my eyes lol. I also haven’t read it since I feel like most of the manga story is probably als ready told through the anime so I might not get much more out of it if I read it. But I could probably be convinced to the read the manga since I love the anime so much!!
I’m glad you liked my pfp lol, mob makes me smile so I like my picture quite a bit as well
Hey.
I mean sure. If you are interested in what some random guy thinks about Chainsaw Man, I am not going to withhold my thoughts on it. Even though debating about taste always ends up with walking in a circle.
Well, here I go:
My main gripe with all the characters is that they are just as shallow as a puddle. No development, no bonds with the reader and why would I care about them if they just get killed off after a few chapters anyway.
Many just ended up as a throwaway character, in my opinion. With the simple purpose to either progress the plot or to get the death counter up.
Another big problem was Denji himself. He was written without a single redeeming quality. His main motivation was to touch boobs which morphed into wanting to get a kiss and finally he participated in the story to be able to bang one of the girls. I guess it is relatable and funny if you are a hormone-driven teenager, but I found it just uninspired. Denji had enough moments to make me like him, yet failed every single time. As far as I can tell, the author didn't infuse him with a personality for a very long time. At least the author tried it at the end with the help of Power but that felt rushed and forced. Just like the whole story, way too fast-paced and a lot of wasted potential.
Back on the topic of Power, why? What did she bring to the table besides acting as a wish fulfiller for Denji and a bit of fanservice? She got my interest at first with the betrayal but that was scrapped real fast and she turned into a useless side character with pretty much nothing to offer to the overall storyline.
That should sum up a few of my main complaints about this manga.
Sorry mate I actually haven't read the entire thing, I just put it on completed because I had read all the translated chapters I could find. I've read to chapter 73 on MangaNelo if you want to know, but no further chapters have been added since Jun 2020.
Unfortunately I ended up buying the physical manga. I read online for as long as I could but I couldn't find any completed versions, I know translations are being worked on at Serenes forest but they're not done yet.
