In a world without hope there is one who rises up to meet the challege. His name is Astro Boy. Whether it be kicking bad guy ass or simply helping someone in a tight spot he is there. If you need a hero for all ages Astro boy is your man.
After a while it seems like the more good anime you see, the harder it seems to find more of the same or higher quality. The only choices left seem to be either find more of the pins in the straw piles, lower your standards, or give up for a while (I believe it reasonable to assume good new anime will eventually come out) and go back to watching anime after people of reasonable taste suggest that you watch something.
For a while I was able to suppliment the difficulty of finding good anime with manga, but even this fountain seems to be drying up.
My choice for now seems to be a cycle of giving up for a period, then lowering my standards and watching anime only to be realize that I should have probably waited longer.
So if you have any recommendations of anime/manga that seems to be excellent by all means feel free to suggest it.
