Hello, there! You can call me ViolaHarmony! (Or Viola, or Harmony, or "Hey you".) My first exposure to anime occurred when I was 5(ish) years old and my parents bought "Scamper the Penguin" for my sister and me. It quickly became my favorite movie and I watched it over and over much to my family's vexation.
As an older kid, I started watching Dragon Ball Z and Digimon with my little brothers and was quickly swept away by the bizarre but interesting stories told in "Japanese cartoons." Dragon Ball Z will always have a special place in my heart. (despite its many flaws ;) I haven't watched Digimon for years and hopefully I'll be able to watch it again sometime now that I'm older and can watch it through my "adult" eyes.
About three or four years ago, a good friend from work introduced me to Miyazaki films. A little later, I was introduced to Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood by another good friend and I absolutely loved it. It's still my favorite anime. (Although, compared to most of you guys, I really haven't watched much anime at all...)
I love anime with a good story and complex, multifaceted characters. I'm kind of a closet fan. My good friends know I love anime, but I'm still too nervous to declare my undying anime love to the entire world... I can't talk about my obsession much to most of my family. (They just wouldn't understand...) The exception is my awesome youngest brother who let me show him FMA:B and loved it. I can sometimes geek out to my sister, who doesn't fully understand, but is kind and patient enough to let me ramble to her about anything. Thankfully, all three of my brothers like Miyazaki, and while my parents think he's strange, they at least appreciate his talent.
I'm very old. I'm probably older than you. I'm a 90's kid, so I'm more likely to find 90's anime nostalgic rather than dated. I like a wide variety of anime. I'll probably like it as long as it isn't too raunchy, has a good story, and has interesting/lovable characters. I also try to keep my viewing at a PG-13 level (or lower), though I'll occasionally make an exception.
Wow. This profile turned out to be much longer than I meant it to be. Thanks so much for reading, and don't hesitate to message me if you'd like. I love meeting fellow otaku!
