Kuroshitsuji: Book of Circus

Ultimate and Book of Circus are both re-adaptations that follow the original manga arcs with very little to no deviation. This is in contrast to both the series original anime adaptations which only covered a small percentage of the manga and the rest of the show is anime original. Only difference is that Book of Circus does not cover the whole manga but rather a specific arc of the manga. Outside of that, both shows are similar because of the following: 1) Both take place in England 2) Both have a protagonist (Ciel and Integra) who makes a deal with a demonic figure (a vampire and actual demon) who are overpowered fighters with their own weapons. 3) Both of them have butlers in them (Sebastian and Walter) 4) Both series involve the main protagonists solving cases with their demonic servants on stand by for which the protagonist will command them to fulfill their demands. 6) Both series have quirky and innocent servants outside of the Alucard and Sebastian who are also strong when they need to be. Bare in mind that both have their differences, particularly that Hellsing Ultimate is more of an ultra-violent bloodbath in contrast to Black Butler: Book of Circus which is more light-hearted with its action but has its darker moments. However, if one is looking for series with similar stories and characters, look no further.

Both series have similar world building and writing despite slightly different tones. Both series center around a male protagonist (Watanuki/Takashi) who are able to see supernatural beings (spirits/youkai) that most other humans are unable to see. The protagonists in both series make a deal with one of these supernatural beings (Yuuko/Madara) who become their master to help protect them and teach them about the spiritual world/youkai. Lastly, both series have episodes that involved the male protagonist interacting with other spirits/youkai while, through these interactions, learn a lesson about both the supernatural world and the human world.

Both animes focus on everyday lives of a group of high school girls with eccentric and sometimes over the top humor. In many cases, both also have skits involving separate characters outside of our main cast, although its more prevalent in Nichijou . It's no secret that Azumanga Daioh started the trend of slice of life comedies for Kyoto Animation in which Nichijou is largely inspired by.
