Female character: "exists"
People: a new girl for Naofumi's harem
Some are denying Raphtalia an agenda being a slave, but when she is shown having an agenda, they say that her reasoning is irrelevant.
Also, that Naofumi is from present day Earth is such a tired argument. I don't expect a character to throw his morals overboard in a split second, but when in Rome do as the Romans do. And it's not like Naofumi was like: slavery is legal here, quick, show me the way to the slave market! Secondly, while slavery is outlawed and seen as immoral for the most part nowadays, it still exists to this day. So, everyone who gets offended by it in a fictional story, is actually sugarcoating it in my opinion. He's not from a perfect utopia where even the thought of something immoral is causing discomfort so to say.
What always irks me a little is when someone is applying the source material selectively. When you say, A will be explained at the right time/later, it's bad writing. But when they want to prove something (in this case Shield Hero turning into a harem), then it's apparently fine to use the source as proof even if it will happen much later and not be covered in the anime.
Also, by that logic, Ghost in the Shell is a harem too.
I see. Yes, that's true. I had to look up the two latter cases, but they are textbook examples. In Germany there was a case with a popular anchorman a few years ago, who was falsely accused.
That character A (Naofumi) can't feel and express anger and resentment, because character B (Raphtalia) had allegedly a worse fate, is some of the biggest nonsense I heard recently. Well, aside from the incel paranoia.
I agree about 7 & 8 being a bit underwhelming. Raph and Filo fighting the razorback was nice plus how they bought a tool for Naofumi. Yeah, the skirt thing was out of place.
True. And the curse shield was more impressive in the manga, I think. How Filo carved her way out of the dragon and was totally casual about eating the source was funny though. She's a cute glutton.
Agreed. And Melty finally appeared. How Naofumi and Raph thought, that Filo had eaten her was hilarious. Plus putting her sister in her place was great. Motoyasu getting kicked never gets old.
We'll see and I hope so too.
On a side note, I noticed that papsoshea is pulling off the same shtick as he did when Goblin Slayer aired, rambling about the Thermian fallacy and throwing insults left and right. I agree with what you said about it.

I agree. I also thought, that the slave trader is more trustworthy than the people in charge once. Except Melty of course.
I was wondering, what's the meaning of your alias?

Sorry for the little rant.

Okay. That's good, I don't mind such changes.
Yeah. And how she was singing about it while pulling the carriage.
PS: The ability to debate things, which are not up for debate, never ceases to amaze me.
PS2: What is the worst anime adaptation of a manga you have read?
