While I do agree that it doesn't hold a candle to the masterpiece that was Barakamon, I found Handa-kun to be quite entertaining, just in a completely different way. It is true that besides the main characters name it doesn't have anything in common with the original.
Barakamon was about a young man finding his way in life, therefore an interesting story line with lots of character development. Handa-kun on the other side was slapstick comedy in a high school that recycled the same running gag repeatedly.
The differences are so severe that I find it unfair to judge them as part of the same story.

Wow, for that Handa review you used up more salt than Gandhi produced in 1930.

I personally try not to have expectations about any anime. This way, I don't get disappointed.

However, I also fail at that sometimes xDD and so things like Handa-kun hurt me so much. We aren't made of stone, are we?

I am very disappointed with this show being the prequel of such a great anime as Barakamon. Handa Sei does not deserve this kind of treatment.
