ah too late man. I watched Innocence and it felt mediocre compared to the og film. I wonder what happened to Mamoru Oshii here. In the original Batou nor Togusa seemed the type to quote lines off of philosophical writings or the bible. Legit this is half of the fucking film here. People would call it "clever", but they could not be more wrong. This is another important lesson of showing not telling. Do not tell me how you fucking want the characters to feel through smart rebuttals of philosophy. If they wanted to do that (still do not recommend it cuz show do not tell ffs) then they could have done so through simple and direct questions (far more impactful). The issue and story with the angry attacking dolls was not completely solved (who is behind it and why), and the movie was more focused on the comparison between humans and dolls; I did not really care about it since the film ended up being kind of shit. Overall, I really do not think I will go forward in watching any more GITS entries. I already kind of regret watching innocence already, and I cannot believe I watched it just to assume those anime philosophers in the review section were right about something.

I saw your review of Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex - Solid State Society and I was wondering if I should delve into the gits series and movies (I watched 1995). GITS seems like a code geass where they milk the ever living fuck out of it and turn it into a pure mess. I thought about only sticking to innocence since it is a sequel follow up, but in your review you recommended staying away from it. Is there a problem with it? I mean Mamoru Oshii directed it so what exactly is the problem here? Lastly, if I asked you to pick any GITS entry(ies) which one(s) would you consider worth watching?

Okay here are some recommendations of things i think you would love: Homunculus (one of the best manga and has impeccable symbolism and one of the best mcs) , The World Is Mine (start is iffy but it has one of the best conclusions), No Longer Human (novel preferably but the usamaru furuya manga is good too), Pluto is also really good ive heard, Ultra Heaven s something u would like too and only has 3 chapters, Oyasumi Punpun, Welcome to the NHK

Nice Casshern Sins review. I liked the presentation, and how respectful you were with your criticism.

The anime looks ass ugly and doesn’t explain much because it assumes you’ve played the games. It’s basically just fan wank for people who bought the games. Which reviewers did you like who left?
literaturenerd Apr 1, 2020 9:07 PM
I see you watched the Xenosaga anime. Are you a fan of the game series? Those are some of my all time faves!

You should talk to her first at least. She’s very nice! Check out some of her reviews if you want to see what some of MAL’s better writing looks like.

That’s because she had to spell it Fleure with an e

I’ve been writing reviews here since 2014 as a hobby. Mostly I review goofy shit and try get a few laughs. By total helpful votes I’m ranked 11th on MAL. Which just means I write a lot of reviews, not that the quality is that high. My friend Fleur isn’t even on the top 50 and she’s a WAY better writer than I am!
It’s time to ditch the text file.
