Always loved anime, and have enjoyed the depth and worldly experience undertaken by all the characters involve. Along with the rush of emotion, thrill, and life experiences compressed into these complicated series I have only recently been finding time to expand my scope of the anime genre and am loving every second of it. I hope to meet other people who feel the same, and share the love for the songs and recreate them on the piano as I try! What can i say becoming a die hard anime fan in every sense love of the language, dont enjoy dubbed as much, art, and japanese traditions portrayed in the show!
I don't believe in part of MAL rating system, and they are too vague for my liking so I've made a definition of what I consider my 1-10 SCALE
In terms of perfection I have yet to find an anime that does that nor do I believe I will ever find them, but that does not necessarily make a show unable to receive a 10 which is near the same level in my book. The way I rate my shows have to do with the 3 main roots of reviews, writing, or aspects of life which are logos, pathos, and ethos.
The way I rate anime are dependable on these three areas which I rate individually first. Then compile the three scores to determine how well they complimented each other. Logos or the logical aspect of the series typically includes the story line, arcs, and depth of script. Next is pathos or the emotion aspect this include a variety of aspects in the series like character depth, character relationships, loss, gain, etc. And the final aspect, Ethos, is not always present or necessary to be rated in some series. But the ones that do apply typically have ethics that or challenged or flipped such as reverse roles of demons and angels or character ethics that may change as a result of character development throughout a series or arc. I also take into account the basic review criteria including animation, music, script, characters, and uniqueness.
This is my rating system w/ a small description of it what each entails:
10- Absolute Masterpiece; A harmonious symphony even Bach would applaud with the elegance intertwine of audio and Animation that wow even the wildest of imagination and locking the emotional drive into a hyper 'good fell' overdrive. (Near impossible to achieve in fewer than 40 episodes including multiple seasons and even then.)
9-A story of its own made to escape the ever expanding compilation of its other anime counterparts. A show that strives & succeeds to introduce a new and revolutionary idea or puts to work an overused cliché with a flawless presentation that not only feels different from its entire precursors. A script that captures the beauty and essence of any story, lesson, or experience within the plot.
8-Highly enjoyable; Not for a second was this boring or weight just waiting to toss. Able to perfectly understand the emotions/adrenaline that exudes the same passion from those who created it!
