been watching anime since the 80's. I miss the depth and complexity of old 80's and 90's Anime. Its mostly taken a huge decline in intelligence eventhough the artwork has vastly improved. I feel like i have rediscovered those great story lines with Sword Art Online and Re:ZERO.

What was your 1st anime or manga? My 1st anime was Sailor Moon on the German TV when I was in elementary school (13 years old, in 1997). I didn't understand German, but that "cartoon" was so pretty I just had to watch it every day and record in on VHS cassettes and then re-watch it. And after 2 years of Sailor Moon I could speek German fluently. XD My 1st manga was also Sailor Moon. I would go to Austria (Graz) every year 2 times and buy a lot of manga. That was before internet. I watched a lot of anime on many German TV channels. And some on Cartoon Network. Most of my manga are in German because they cost less than manga in English and were easier to obtain back then (before BookDepository XD).
About the idiots in the SAO forums... You have to learn to ignore them. There are a lot of haters who are shitting on every episode and also LN readers who complain a lot about this or that being different. I read all comments in the SAO and Fruits Basket forums, but I usually just write my thoughts, I don't fight with or try to correct the imbeciles complaining there and shitting on it. There's too many in the SAO forums. Because it's "cool" to be a SAO hater or something. I don't have the time or nerves for it. On Fruits Basket forums things are a lot calmer, sometimes the manga readers write spoilers and then I tell them to put it in the spoiler tag, because I feel sorry for the anime-onlys who get the fun ruined for them because of the spoilers.
Do you collect anime/manga merchandise or buy anime/manga? I buy manga, LNs and artbooks and I buy a LOT of figures, keychains and other merchandise. It's like 1 of few joys in my life. Of course, my family feels I'm retarded because I spend most of my money on "toys" and "comics" instead of clothes, makeup, food etc. One day I'll have a big room fool of figures, keychains, posters, manga etc. <3 It will be my sanctuary. :Đ
Sorry, I can't talk to you about Re:ZERO season 2 because I usually don't watch anime as it comes out, I wait for it to finish and then binge watch it. I only watch as it comes out when I have already read the manga and know the story or when I REALLY can't wait for it to end, like with SAO. But it's so frustrating having to wait a week for every new episode. :'D
I just saw your comments on the SAO 3-3 episode 6. From your comments you seemed older, so I was wondering how old, so I checked your profile and then I read your complain about the modern anime. "I miss the depth and complexity of old 80's and 90's Anime. Its mostly taken a huge decline in intelligence eventhough the artwork has vastly improved." I agree so much with you about the decline in intelligence, there are so many new anime that are either just ok (nothing special) or are totally stupid and/or uninteresting. I do find something I like every now and then, but the majority of them are almost trash. And there are popular anime with a good score on MAL that I couldn't finish more than 1 episode of, because I was feeling like my IQ was dropping just by watching it. I sometimes wonder if I'm just too old and don't undertand what the young people like nowadays.
I see you also like SAO, Re:Zero and Fate/Zero. I don't know what to recommend to you since you are new on MAL and haven't added every anime/manga to your lists yet, so I don't know what you have already watched and what genres/themes you like. Hm, from the newer anime I liked Yakusoku no Neverland and Kimetsu no Yaiba, maybe you could try those if you haven't. Also, my Top 1 manga Fruits Basket is having a reboot now (we are now near the end of season 2 and there will be 1 more season in spring). It's a shoujo, but a very good one, so I would recommend it. It's an adaptation of an old manga (Published: Jul 18, 1998 to Nov 20, 2006). The first anime wasn't as good as this reboot because it changed some important things from the manga and also only adapted like 6 volumes (out of 23) because it had only 1 season. This new anime will adapt the whole manga and they have only minor changes, nothing important.
Ok, that's all from me. Sorry for the long comment. And welcome on MAL. It's nice to see someone older on MAL, most of my "friends" are much younger than me, but they keep adding me, so what can I do. XD
