My ranking system:

When I start an anime, I rank it at 7, because I anticipate that I will enjoy the anime. The score can go up or down from there.

SCORE 10 - These are my favourite anime. They just have me emotionally invested. I would watch these over and over again.
SCORE 9 - Pretty amazing, but lacked something to make it absolutely marvelous.
SCORE 8 - I like these more than the average anime/manga. I look very much forward to the next issue / episode.
SCORE 7 - My 'average' ranking. I enjoy it enough to follow it, but I don't think it is amazing.
SCORE 6 - This could have been a 7, but something is missing. Either I don't enjoy the plot, the characters, the artwork, or I think it could be better with more effort put into it.
SCORE 5 - I'm on the verge of dropping it, there's very little enjoyment in the series for me.
SCORE 4 and below - it's garbage. If I am watching or reading and haven't dropped, it's because I'm either too stubborn to do so or I want to see how bad the train wreck is going to be.
