Like many people I was exposed to anime for the first time during Toonami, and most notably Gundam Wing. Since then I've spent far more time than I should admit watching various anime. My tastes are peculiar in that I'm both picky, and yet open to watching just about any kind of anime. My preferred anime are those that are very well thought out and have a moderately dark tone. I enjoy action anime, and more so when the characters have unique powers (preferably personalized powers). A step down from action I enjoy mystery and any anime that has a good mix of comedy. Nearly a requirement, however, is some form of romantic relationship that has some decent though put into it. One of my biggest pet peeves is having characters that are incomprehensibly dense. My history has many years of being involved in music behind it, and thus I tend to appreciate an anime that has a quality soundtrack and makes use of it expertly. I avoid scrutinizing an anime based on art style, but I do pay a lot of attention to an anime's style and tend to prefer somewhat more original and artistic styles. Beyond anime I spend most of my time playing video games, and working on my Rotorcraft license.
