I started my love for anime my senior year in High School, when my friend used to always talk about it. Up until that point I had only seen 3 animes, Speed Racer, Astro Boy and Hamtaro (5 if you include Pokemon and Digimon). He talked about how he collected them and I thought to myself, "Well, it would be nice to have those 3 on DVD". That's when the obsession started.

Some of my fondest memories are working full weeks at work and binging anime like Yumeria, Taisho Baseball Girls, and Soul Eater on my days off. Anime is actually what allowed me to meet my girlfriend of 5 years. We were working on a project in our English class senior year and someone asked her what music she was using for a project and she said she was looking through anime music to find something. That was cupid's arrow.

Now I watch EVERY anime and AMV (anime music video) and play every anime game I can get my hands on and prefer physical copies to streaming (I even bought a Japanese Xbox 360 to play imports). I hope to move to Japan in the future and be part of an anime producing company. I am studying Japanese in college right now and am expanding both my Japanese and my anime collection.
