Yo uhm, I'm pretty critical when it comes down to anime and I often let that shine, especially when someone calls an anime the "best anime ever". I like seeing thos people cry when I rip apart their Narutos and Dragonballs, pointing out every flaw I could think of.
I hate the kind of people claim to be "anime-fans" and then turn out to have only seen the big three and some other overhyped anime, without acknowledging true masterpieces such as Madoka Magica or Cowboy Bebop.
I'm pretty bigoted and I don't hide it, but I'm also really passionate when it comes down to things I really love.....like anime for example :D
I think that's pretty much all that is relevant.
Peace!

People are free to do whatever they want, I don't really care nor do I pay attention to it. I live in a country where a right-wing party has just been elected afterall.
No problem and good luck for future reviews.
Have a nice day yourself.
I'll start off with the obvious, just so you know their are a lot of 'manservice' anime out their, and manga. That's called Yaoi, which is only extremely popular among females (And a minority of males); the reason it is under appreciated is exactly what you stated, but it also stands for anime such as Sakura Trick which is based around females.
To me, Free! was more about friendship and the bonds shared between friends. Nanase shows taht towards Rin; and if you aren't closed minded any person would see why about that, I really enjoyed watching Free! but, besides being "homophobic" (I don't agree that it's a phobia, you're just an utter twat if you disrespect someone for not having the same laws or morals as yourself) is that their isn't such a compelling story that it sits in amongst the best anime out their, considering the genre it's in I think it was well placed. Although, their is more of a story than what meets the eye their is no plot. It's just pure swimming and fanservice.
It's honestly no surprise that Free! had such good art, Shinkai Makoto done the trailer for them, so he would of advised them on their art aswell most likely.
All in all, I thought it was a pretty decent review but, you could of wrote more about your overall score and enjoyment. Just because something looks appealling to watch doesn't really mean that it's going to make a good watch (I've watched many shows like that) but it can also be reversed.
Good review. Hope to see more of them out of you and Goodluck.
And after all, the road to success is knowing what you need to work on and embracing that you need to work on those things - so you're doing a good job.
