thanks! Right now I'm trying to get sure I have all the paperwork to go to the Uk. Turns out that leaving the EU can be pretty annoying.
Guess being in Schengen really made us lazy with travelling abroad here in the EU.

Thank you! He's currently my favourite obsession 🫡

Yeah. I really hope everything goes according to plan >.<
I've never been traveling abroad alone before .

Glad to hear Frieren manga's still going strong! But oh nooo, it's on hiatus? And I see there's no return date...well, some people mentioned that the manga was also on hiatus/breaks during the production of the first season, so here's hoping the same thing is happening and the author is focusing on assisting with the production of the second season :')

Nothing much but you ca say I'm slowly doing progress to live the way I always wanted.
My metal heath got better and I'm planning a trip to UK in July to visit a close friend of mine.

Oh yes same, if I had more space than a single book shelf in my room, I would definitely buy a lot more volumes of every single series I love. I have three volumes of the Berserk deluxe and didn't realize how huge and heavy they were before they arrived at my doorstep lol.

Understandable, I'm more of a seasonal watcher so I try to keep up with whatever airing shows interest me atm. I'm looking forward to the Demon Slayer sequel as well!
Frieren is most likely going to be my AOTY as well, it checks all the boxes of what I'm looking for in a fantasy/adventure show. How do you like the manga in comparison to the anime, and do you think the quality of the story is consistently as good in the latest chapters? I did the same thing you did with Frieren, but with Apothecary Diaries instead. I'm debating on whether to read the manga for Frieren as well or wait for S2.

Hi there! It's been a while! Great ti hear from you again.
I'm doing fine. 2024 as far is very promising. How are you?

I've recently restarted Frieren because I lost the thread of the story with having to wait a week for each new episode. Just three episodes in, it's clear to see there's a general air of quality about it - in the artwork, the story, and the dialogue. I'd completely forgotten how it started, and with having a reminder - well, I can't believe how complacent I got. It's absolutely amazing! Like, through the roof quality in all departments. I definitely underappreciated it the first time around.

I think we in the seasonal anime watching community have been lucky with so many fantastic new titles emerging recently - with things like Frieren, Oshi no Ko, Pluto, and The Apothecary Diaries. And there was Vinland Saga season 2 not long ago, and Golden Kamuy's continued to be engrossing - the aforementioned being the two best seinen/adult action-series, for me personally. I think the finales of Golden Kamuy and Beastars are the big ones for me this year - because it will be the definitive conclusion of the stories. And there's more Bleach TYBW, the Overlord sequel movie, Oshi no Ko season 2, the new Madoka movie, and the return of Yuru Camp - all coming this year. So it really is a great time to be an anime fan!

I've heard some good things about Dandadan, so hopefully it will be right up there with the best of them. I can vouch for Science SARU (the studio assigned to Dandadan) because they did an incredible job with the Heike Monogarari and Eizouken production and artwork. It bodes well for what's to come!

No worries, everyone has their own things going on so I don't always expect a reply x3
Haha same with me. When I first started collecting, my shelf was super organized but I've been getting really lazy these past few months and the latest volumes I've bought are just laid on top of one another. xD Do you buy every volume of every manga you like? Sometimes the manga I like have certain arcs I'm not too fond of so I skip buying those volumes and there's a gap in between the volumes I own for certain series. I know some people think that's weird.

Me too! But thankfully there are many good new anime/sequels coming out to keep us busy while we're waiting for the Link Click sequel...other than Link Click and Golden Kamuy, are there any you're looking forward to?
Btw glad to see you're watching Frieren, Apothecary Diaries, and A Sign of Affection! I'm watching quite a lot of seasonals rn but those three are my favorites.

Yeah, I'd have liked to have seen a Hinamatsuri anime sequel myself. When it was airing, I remember being surprised at how good it was, and it was kind of a new experience for me as I hadn't seen much non-action/adventure anime at that time. I found the mix of comedy and slice of life really charming, and there were emotionally touching and heartfelt moments with the parenting and caring angle, as well. Salmon roe - feed me!

I'd say the current or recent scene has not been too far off what the overall quality was 5 years ago. Perhaps the very best new things have been better - and certainly, some of them are slicker, and faster, and edgier, and glossier. Some of the biggest recent-ish hits with me personally have been Oshi no Ko, My Dress-Up Darling, and Spy x Family. I've probably drifted away from battle shounen the last few years so I don't know all of the newer ones that have emerged, but I was impressed with the new Bleach series. I honestly think it's a level above some of the big names like Kimetsu no Yaiba. The recent OVA series Pluto (with 8 1-hour long episodes) was something intelligent and thought-provoking with a serious futuristic/sci-fi plot, which kinda reminds me of the Ghost in the Shell series from back in the day. And Apothecary Diaries is the best currently airing series for me. Maomao is a refreshingly unique female lead with her humble demeanor and self-deprecating humor, combined with lots of medical and pharmacological knowledge, and a sharp and deductive way of thinking. She's earned her place in my top 10!
