How I got into anime

I only really got into anime when I was around 15; when my close friend made me watch One Piece for the first time. Before that, I had only watched one Ghibli film, a single random episode of Naruto, and a Pokémon movie.

When I watched One Piece, it immediately got my interest. After that, I hesitantly asked for more episodes from my friend, and then proceeded to fall in love with it. For the first few months, I only watched gateway series that my friends would recommend. I then decided to start discovering series on my own, and found a whole new world of amazing entertainment.

I quickly became immersed in the medium, and developed my own tastes. I love anime, and I am grateful that my friend copied One Piece episodes for me that time.

My all-time favourite and all-time most hated anime

One of my all-time favourite anime is Non Non Biyori. It's such a charming and sweet show, and it makes my heart melt every time I watch it.

My other all-time favourite anime is the Haruhi Suzumiya series, which I talk more about in the "my faith" section. I love the characters so much, and I love the stories.

My all-time most hated anime is Eiken. The art is ugly, the animation is horrid, the plot is non-existent, the characters are stupid and terrible, and my intelligence was greatly insulted by this piece of sh#t. I fell to a nearly vegetative state while watching.

My faith

I have no interest in ordinary religions. I am a devout Haruhiist. I have sat through the entirety of endless eight every time I watch the Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. It is my Christmas tradition to watch the Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya: the best anime movie of all time!

I run a Discord server called the Holy Church of Haruhiism, and if you are a fellow Haruhiist, I recommend joining! There is also a MAL Club.

By the way, I personally believe that the best way to watch the Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya is it's original broadcast order; starting with the Adventures of Mikuru Asahina, and ending the series with the Sigh of Haruhi Suzumiya, then proceeding to watch the Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya movie.
