I am a guy that's been watching anime for most of my life. My tastes are very wide and varied, ranging from complex political dramas to mindless slapstick comedies; from tense psychological thrillers, to calm slice-of-life tales. I enjoy the many examples of artistry that exhibit themselves across the various genres.
I love to debate and will tackle almost any topic that I feel is worth discussing. Hell, I can even appreciate high effort trolls, so hammer away at your keyboard if you can put in some work.
My rating system for anime works as follows:
- 10/10 - A masterpiece is, as the term implies, a realization of an artistic vision that goes above and beyond what is possible for a normal anime. It implies a level of understanding, thought, and workmanship that stands above anything else in that genre. It is a piece of media that can evoke feelings and emotions within me unique only to it.
- 9/10 - A great anime is one that is truly memorable; it is a piece of entertainment that makes use of all the tools unique to the medium to paint a vivid picture in a way that would be impossible anywhere else. Not only is this sort of show strong as a whole, it also offers uniquely memorable scenes that will stay with me for the rest of my life.
- 8/10 - An anime that is very good is one that presents a strong experience that I will be able to recognize at a glance any time in the future. This may not be the anime that I will dwell on, but it is one that I will enjoy a great deal in the process. This sort of anime offers a good example of the possibilities of the medium, without breaking any barriers necessary to make it truly amazing.
- 7/10 - A good anime is one that I enjoyed, and found reasonably memorable. It is not a show I am likely to revisit in whole, but it will often have elements that I will recall fondly. An anime with this grade begins to suffer from a few noticeable, though not fatal, drawbacks in one or several critical component areas, sufficient that it begins to hamper my full enjoyment.
- 6/10 - An example of a fine anime is one that shows its imperfections in a very noticeable fashion. While this is still likely a show or series in which I found some positive qualities, my enjoyment of a work rated at this level was offset by serious flaws that I simply cannot ignore.
- 5/10 - An average anime is one that is not memorable in any way. It is a show that utterly failed to capture or engage me. It is not a show with elements that I could recall the next day, much less years later.
- 4/10 - Moving into the bad territory, are anime that not only failed to engage, but were also fraught with serious plot problems, terrible or cliché world building, and very noticeable animation issues. These are not shows I would want to watch to the end, and they are not ones I would recommend to anyone.
- 3/10 - A very bad anime is one that completely fails to deliver a coherent narrative, fails to provide appealing visuals, and fails to offer any sort of semblance of a positive experience. These are shows that were a terrible idea from the start.
- 2/10 - A horrible anime is one that is offensive to the social norms of any culture. It is a series that not only fails to deliver a positive experience but does it in a way that disgusts the viewer.
- 1/10 – To rate an anime appalling requires that a show goes past offensive, and into a world of its own. It is a rating reserved for shows that revel in how terrible they are. These are the masterpieces of disgusting; the types of work that fail so spectacularly that these failures are discussed in hushed whispers for years to come.

The years just seem to fly by!
I can't believe a year has gone by so fast!
I tend to like to start a conversation with everyone I invite instead of just giving you a random invite.
*If the invite doesn't go through just message me about it*
I really don't like the fine/average aspect. I feel that means the same thing. So the best way I have remedied that is doing below average and average.
I was just sending out a warning shot to everyone, needed to make sure nobody else had to deal with the headaches I did.
Take care mate.
As if the username wasn't enough of a red flag alone, me and him went back-and-forth about 5-6 comments each and I pretty much learned that:
1. He's either a little kid, or he's a really old nolife.
2. He spends most of his free time (which it seems like he has infinite amounts of) reading through tons of SAO reviews finding people who give the review a high rating and takes the time to write on their profile about how he disagrees with them.
3. Linked to #2, he is completely devoid of the fact that everyone is entitled to their own opinion and that not everyone will agree with him, which is exactly why he attempts to manipulate people into agreeing with him.
If you want any more details (I'm sure you really don't care, but idk,) just shoot me a message. After we each shared 5-6 messages to/from each other, he went and deleted every single comment he made on my profile and every comment I made on his profile without saying a single word, so I'm just warning everyone in an attempt to save them from getting cancer from this screw-up of a person.
- First arc, Sinon is a harem member that degraded to a "side hoe".
- Second arc, they're just dicking around.
- Third arc, keeping someone that's about to die some company.
SAO isn't a "subtle anime", it's adapted from one of the best selling LN ever, so obviously there is alot of hype behind the franchise. If you want subtle and specific, go look at Rinne no Lagrange, though it might not be your "cup of tea".
