See you space cowboy...) SUM UP OF 2017 Hi :) The year 2017 has come to an end, so it is time for a slightly late summary when it comes to anime. Last year I had the pleasure to see quite a lot of really good and sometimes even very good titles and the best of them, find their place in the list of five titles of the year. The year 2017 was also quite good when it comes to characters and songs I had the opportunity to hear in openings and endings. Although few titles unfortunately did not meet my hopes (I mean mainly "Baccano!" and "Darker Than Black: Kuro No Keiyakusha"). I invite you to familiarize with my choices :) "FIVE FAVORITE ANIME SERIES": 1. "Gintama 2015" (Season four) -"Boku Dake Ga Inai Machi" -"Hibike! Well I don't deliberately do it either, I just have poor memory so I forget about it if I don't do it directly and most often i'm busy when I find your message.
I had no vacation this year, I worked all summer in the +20 to +30 celsius scorching heat ;(
The animated version of "Beauty and the Beast" yeah that movie haven't I seen in decades ^^
About Nagisa Furukawa I will leave that answer to the day I decide to finish that animes season 2.
Well I will prolly finish the "Free!" triology one day and perhaps the movies also just not now.
That's true that they don't show much of Kiyoko Shimizus emotions, but that makes her more cool and cute :P
Oh about that favorite list, I think that's just how I added them thou, I just happened to watch "Madan No Ou To Vanadis" before I saw "Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei" and added it also as a favorite before aswell ^^
What I like the most abou t"Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei" is the main guy character, he is so cool and emotionless and awesome and OP :D All the traits I like the most in an anime main character which no animes really have thou.
Have you seen the 2 animes?
I did watch "Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei Movie: Hoshi wo Yobu Shoujo" and "No Game No Life: Zero" like a week or two ago. They were really good. I just wished they made a season 2 of both the shows.
Still haven't seen season 2 of "K-ON!"
Can't say for sure that I ever will see the anime "Nana".
Which arc in "Gintama" are you referring to? It took like 90 episodes just to get to the arc where that guy with Elizabeth "died" and then the humor of the show just dried out for me. Became to much. At what episode is the best arc?
The arc where they had that "fight" with the sandpaper in the bathroom stalls was fun thou :P
The only anime i'm currently watching is "Tensei shitara Slime Datta Ken" cause it is the only one that is the most interesting that I can take the time to actually watch, well I've read the manga so that helps why i'm so interested in it. Sure there is other currently airing animes I would like to watch like "Fairy Tail" for example and maybe that "Goblin Slayer" perhaps but I don't just have the urge to watch anime atm.
I'm more into watching real movies and TV-series, nothing imparticulary thou, I will finish the TV show "Teen Wolf season 6" soon since netflix just added the second part I was waiting on. Other than that I see 1 episode every saturday/sunday of the TV show "Blindspot season 4" after they release a torrent I can download from. I love that show so much!!!
How about you, are you watching anything? Anime or anything else? Also how is school going?
Take Care Bartek(sorry if i misspelled it) Take Care, hope you had a good november
And I had work also.
Different kind of vacations as in different locations all over the world, I even listed a few. And no my parents suck at traveling. Mom barely understand english for example and dad refuse to learn it. So you can see how it would be hard for them to travel to another country.
I like watching anime, sometimes you find a good story and cool characters.
"Beauty And The Beast" that movie was a while, unless we talk about the live action movies transitions.
Yeah I guess depends on who it is. I saw a TV-series named "My name is Earl" with a guy using the french accent. Every girl in the show loved it but I didn't really see the appeal to using that weird accent. Might be more that they liked the idea of screwing a foreign guy maybe.
The guy not noticing girls being in love with him. That's like the story in 9 out of 10 anime :P
Yeah I didn't like Nagisa Furukawa. I prefered the other girls(no not the starfish girl even thou she was a bit funny)
Well true the older manager of the Karasuno Team is quite shy, I would't say she's cold thou. It might look like she is cold thou since she is quite shy.
Kuroko no Basket Movie 4: Last Game, I've not yet seen this movie.
Same as with a few other movies like "Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei Movie: Hoshi wo Yobu Shoujo" and "No Game No Life: Zero"
"Free!" I saw everything that was out at that time. And now currently there is a new season airing I've noticed. I've not yet started watching it thou as i'm not in anime watching mode unless it's Overlord Season 3.
As for my anime list graphic, I took it from that guy who keeps posting different graphics
My favorite anime I would have to say is "Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei"
"Akagami No Shirayuki-hime" Was a nice watch, saw both seasons and even considered reading the manga but I never came that far yet.
"K-ON!" Was quite fun and good, would have continued with season 2 but something came up and haven't been able to have the urge to continue yet.
Have still not finished "Darker Than Black: Kuro No Keiyakusha", or even started on "Durarara !!" or the "Monogatari Series".
How was "Nana"?
"Boku No Hero Academia" I won't watch voluntarily.
"Gintama" I can't get myself to continue, the show kinda died out for me after 120 episodes on season 1 or so.
Well I apoligize for the late response this time, I've been busy like I said in the begnning and then I just forgot it for a while.
I hope we can go back to faster response from both sides
Take Care
Haha the one that should be apoligizing is me not you! Wish I was faster at replying. Actually this time I thought I had replied already. Stupid me. -.-
No, not at all but at least this time I was home for Christmas. :)
London was amazing but really expensive!! I didn't visit too many places there since I stayed for like 2 days only but at least I went to Hyde Park, saw the Tower Bridge and Big Ben with my eyes and visited Piccadilly Square. Oh also I visited Greenwich Observatory which I strongly recommend to you. I think I saw a lot of things all in all for just 2 days but it was mostly in central London. It is a hugee city!
I returned to Greece late April and again I really can't wait to go abroad again..There's nothing for me here, I just have to finish the military service. T__T
Norwich was really beautiful, especially during spring! There are so many parks there where you can go and relax and all the trees bloom during spring. It's really wonderful. *.* The weather there was mild, not too cold or too warm. I think it was alright. Also there are a lot of canals there and it reminded me a bit of Amsterdam. The city has a medieval feeling because of the old Cathedral there. Oh it also has the oldest hotel in the UK where I worked for a month. :) I definitely recommend you to visit it. I think it's one of the nicest cities in England! If you want to know something in particular tell me. :)
Hmm I spent Christmas and New Year's Eve at home with my family. We had the usual lunch on Christmas and meeting with friends on New Year's Eve. ^^ How about you?
Oh...I hope she is better now! :c Yes he did. I'm glad your grandpa is doing better now too. :)
Me too. I'm crying every time I watch it. I think I've watched it 3 times so far. The song "nandemonaiya" from it also makes me melancholic but it's one of my favourite songs definitely..
Yay, you made the 2017 list! I want to watch "boku dake ga inai machi" soon. ^^
I see. Yes. I definitely agree with you. It appeals to a younger generation more. There's some anime we are too old to watch now.
Great decision!! How's your studies going??
That's good, hope you keep playing the guitar!
Yes I really want to visit Krakow one day!
No, not yet but my friend told me it's his favourite Star Wars movie. Have you watched it already?
Definitely watch it!! Yes, Nana is one of the best anime I've watched! I see you liked a lot of the songs in it. :D Did you also like the plot?
Yes, this period I'm mostly watching violet evergarden. What about you are you watching something?
Yeah I have to!!! When I'll watch it I'll tell you how I liked it. :)
Hmm I think most people must prefer the book. The movie was good too though!
It is obligatory here unfortunately and these days it has begun to be too hard on me..It's probably because I've been doing that for 6 months already but I still have 6 more. :(( I'm wondering if I'll be able to manage. :/
Thank you so much! I also wish you health, happiness and luck for this year. Hope you'll achieve your goals for 2018!
Summer break in Poland seems short. I think sweden have 8 weeks and winter break is 3 or 4 weeks.
I went with my parents, but it thru a company that have different kinds of vacations. They travel all over sweden and even to New York and a few europe countries also. I don't remember them all.
I wasn't really doing that much, we went to a few famous tourist spots. Walked around the town and such. A lot of walking at least.
No job as I have not found any job as in all the jobs I applicate for turns me down.
Distract me means it distracts my thought of not thinking the thought I don't want to think. Also distracts me from doing stuff I really should be doing :P
It's easy, I have to lift up my leg about 1,5 m up the air to get over the sadle I think you can figure out the rest. Also the gaining weigh issue is included.
"Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken" IS AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
As the for the other titles I like them also. But there is not many chapters out and the translations take a long time for each chapter which is annoying. But the biggest reason I read them is cause they all have a common theme, which is mostly something like "Reincarnation in a new world".
RELIFE isn't thou but that manga was also awesome in its own way, it was a bit annoying in the beginning and some of the changes the anime made thou, but most manga you read from start you've seen the anime adaption on is like that. Or normal books and movies.
I've seen all 3 Lion King movies, I saw all 3 after each other. I had a urge to watch old Disney movies so I saw Lion King all 3. Aladdin I saw that one also and might have been 1 more. Can't remember it was like 2 years ago now. But for the other 2 Lion King movies, well the 3rd one I didn't like at all cause it kinda destroyed everything you knew in the 1st movie. You have to see it to understand what I mean.
"Yes, I agree. Watching anime certainly allows you to learn basic Japanese phrases."
Indeed, one guy in my game(I wouldn't call him my friend in the game cause he annoys the hell out of me but he can be amusing cause he is so dumb) is like 30+ and he commented about this yesterday that it was impossible. And I didn't think he could get dumber :(
If you saw him talk like I do you would deem him stupid also.
I am aware that a french accent can be "sexy" but no the language it self.
I don't like "Kanda" so I can't abide by your wish.
(I do not know if you paid attention, but in the case of Kanda, was used the famous scheme in which women seek for a boyfriend's favor, and he does not realize i)
Isn't this a common trait in all anime where the girls love the guy???
Also i'm somewhat not sure what you really meant with it.
Well I missunderstood your Clannad order which I noticed when I finally was done writing my message about it.
Well Clannad was ok, could be better. Also I don't like the girl he choosed so season 2 will prolly have to wait a while.
Haikyuu!! hmm perhaps, also for a little reason I thought the the girl manager the older one was gonna get a crush on Hinata also :P I don't know why thou it just felt like it ^^
Might come a season 4 and I really hope it does.
Ah yes, Tooru Oikawa was his name, yeah I liked him. He was cool but had a few things I didn't like but most characters have that.
And the girls name was Kiyoko Shimizu I looked up. Quiet and nice girls yeah sure, but not to quite thou. But she is so nice and beautiful and the reason she doesn't really speak up so much is because she is actually really shy :P
Hinata is cool when he gets thou eyes of his
Nishinoya is just plain awesome :D
Sugawara is cool
I will prolly watch the Kuroku No Basket movie but tbh i'm not that happy to watch anime movies cause they are so long and you have to spend so much energy to concentrate for a long time which is hard for me.
I saw the SAO latest movie a while back. As for it being long was a downside of course but the movie itself was a letdown also.
FREE! was a nice watch. I like Haruka and Rin(when he finallly stopped being a dick) But if I had to choose any character from the show who I liked best I would have to go with Rins sister she was hot :D Have you seen it?
Which graphic?
"Madan No Ou To Vanadis" is a nice watch and I like it. But it's not the number 1 favorite. Why do you ask?
Currently watching K-ON and Akagami no Shirayuki-hime
How about you?
Thanks, Hope you've had a nice few weeks
During the Christmas holidays I was in Norwich..I was working at a restaurant there. It wasn't the best Christmas ever but it was something different. >.< I was also working on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day..But at least I got to visit London during the holidays which was amazing!
Really thank you a lot for all your warm wishes! This year has been quite difficult so far..Hoping better things are ahead!
How's your grandpa? My grandpa also had an illness and I had to be at the hospital with him for many days but thankfully he has recovered!
I watched "kimi no na wa" twice..Such a good movie..!!
So the monogatari series are really good..There's a lot of them but I should watch them. :)
Great list you made. Kimi no na wa's song is my favourite thing from 2016. <3
Yes, I was surpised because it's a long anime..How did you like it? I really don't have the patience to begin it. >_<
Yup of course, I also explored Norwich. It's such a beautiful city. I miss it a lot. <3 I also met lots of nice teachers and great students. <33
Uhhh what a stupid neighbour!!! Don't stop doing music of course, since it's your passion!
Really hope you will be given more chances after 2 years!
Ah. :( So what happened now? Were you left on your own?
Oh no...Football fans act so badly sometimes. :/
I also think so..I have to visit it definitely! But if I visit Poland I will also visit the big cities and you of course. :)
Thank you very much! Hope so too!
No..Is it a good movie?
Yes..I love it, it's such a nice relaxing anime. <3 I hears it's similar to mushishi which you love. Haven't watched mushishi yet though.
I think your list looks great but I haven't watched most of those movies yet..:( Not even Pulp Fiction. I also love psycho. :D The shining was good but the book is even better. They missed out a lot of parts from it and changed it a bit.
Nice music list as well. Those albums have made history so I can understand it. :c
Yes, it is mostly junk food and also has no nice taste..That's a reason why I'm a bit glad to be back home. But tomorrow my army service will start..Hope the food there will be good. :(
Thank you! Have a great week too! And hopefully my next reply will be faster. >.<
Nothing much, I went to Gotland for a 5 day trip in the end of July thou. It was a nice place. The boatride and bussride to get there was a bit boring thou.
No jobs.
Anime distracts me so it doesn't really have to make me happy, aslong as I enjoy what i'm watching.
When I say pants I mean pants, because it's not like I ride my bike without cloths.
I'm not reading any books´but if you check my "reading manga" on MaL you can see some of the manga i'm reading, I can't add them all because not everyone of them is here. But if you look thru a few of them you will notice a pattern of what it is i'm reading ^^
"Vinterviken" no idea, was 10 years ago I read it.
Lion King is awesome :D the first one at least.
The comparison between the 2 anime is the stupidiness actions of the main protaganists like I wrote in last message.
I've not seen "Thirteen Reasons Why" or heard about it. I don't remember the titles of the movies i've seen except Wolverine and The Descandants 2.
I don't know japanese, but you pick up a few easy words when you watch a lot of anime thou. Like how to say "love" "hi" and such things. Don't you agree?
French meh. Everyone says Spanish from what i've heard.
Well I had high expectations of Sakurasou but it failed me with the love story and the main protaganist failed me completely also as usual. I'm sorry if you don't like me calling him stupid but in my opion he is one.
I don't remember the scene I was talking about when I "almost cried"
Not sure what you mean with this. But I saw season 1 of Clannad then I watched the 2 alternative endings which I enjoyed more than the actual ending. I've not seen season 2. Oh ok now when I look thru the names and info of the show I notice the order is like this:
Clannad
Clannad: Mou Hitotsu no Sekai, Tomoyo-hen
Clannad: After Story
Clannad: After Story - Mou Hitotsu no Sekai, Kyou-hen
(this one I thought was an alternative ending to the 1st season also so I watched this one after the Tomoya-hen ending)
I like Haikyuu as it is but I did expect Hinata and the blond chick to fall in love with each other but then I noticed it has no romance genre.
My favorite character is the quiet girl manager :D I also like the guy Hinata nicknamed "Great King"
Yours?
Kuroko No Basuke, I've seen all OVA and all 3 seasons. I've seen 1 or 2 movies also that is actually an put together recap of what happens in the seasons thou. So no i've not seen the latest movie yet.
Currently I guess i'm watching FREE!
You too. Take Care
I haven't watched anime in months (no, seriously).
I've mainly been watching movies xD
Thanks, haha. I was messing about on 4chan.
Let's start this on the right note - what's your favourite genre?
No problem! I check my MAL feed pretty rarely as well. :-)
I know it's been a while since you wrote this but tbh i've just been so bored in my life I couldn't do it.
I think I have 6 or 8 GB. I forgot, i've only run out once. Mainly because tbh I have no idea what dates it resets and because for some reason my phone didn't use the home network when I was home.
I don't have any activities so i'm freaking bored. All I do is play 2 games on my computer and a few on my phone and watch anime. But totally unsatisfactory.
We had snow 2 weeks ago(on easter)
I'm not a fan of riding bikes, also I think my bike so far has cracked 11 pair of pants........
Have you read the Harry Potter saga?
Well the 100 pages I read of Twilight were not eventful but I remember it was kinda interesting but I just forgot about it. Well another book I loved and read the 2 sequels on I had like 100 pages left to finish it and I was on pass for 3 months before I actually finished it :P If I get distracted by something that needs my full attention it's hard to go back to something I was doing. Specially if the thing I need to do takes a long time to do. I think you know what I mean.
Well I tried to explain what "Confirmation" was for some1 in america and I gave up directly cause I couldn't explain it in any other words.
This book we had to read, well I don't really wanna translate myself into english and since I can only find the swedish one I will write that one which I hope is ok, "VinterViken" by "Mats Wahl"
I googled it to look for the english title but couldn't find any and since they let me keep the book I noticed they have changed the cover aswell.
Pocahontas, hahahaha :D that movie was on tv last year :P I saw a bit of it. I don't remember why I stopped but I guess I had to do something. But when I was young I saw it. I even had puzzle and other things from it.
"World Trigger" is a good anime you should see it, well it can get on your nerves like any other anime you watch with a (i'm sorry for the harsh language i'm about to use) pussy protagonist who keeps looking backwards instead of what's in front.
(I hope you understand my analogy if not I will give you another anime example on it: https://myanimelist.net/anime/13759/Sakurasou_no_Pet_na_Kanojo?q=saku )
"Killer Elite" is a decent movie, it's not something you watch more than twice thou unless you forget what happens really easy. Unlike me who is scary good on remembering movies so detailed I can almost explain them so the person doesn't even have to see it(well 3 people have given me "praise" like that. 2 of them is my parents thou)
Well the reason I dropped out was because even thou my interest in the language was high, the fighting side which was me not studying won. The reason for that is that i'm really bad at taking time to really study something, i'm bad at remembering things.
Well I did sign up to learn russian and you saw how that went. But yes, lately japanese has really intrigued me. Not only the language but the country it self also.
Spanish is the language of love, who wouldn't wanna know that one :D :D :D
Why did you study 5 years of russian?
Haha it was a joke. Sorry if it offended you.
I have to much free time!
I just finished: https://myanimelist.net/anime/13759/Sakurasou_no_Pet_na_Kanojo?q=saku
I hate that anime that has romance in it but never goes anywhere!!!!!!!! Well I looked up the spoiler what the anime didn't give and it seems he keeps being the same idiot until SHE finally has enough(which is surprising due to the fact she couldn't even choose her own underwear in the beginning, but I guess even girls like her evolves for the things they want and gives up on the things that hurt).
But in the end it seems he stopped being an a-hole and actually took a real look at himself due to fact what I just mentioned. Which I guess is good an ending. If you haven't seen this anime I apologize for my somewhat spoilers.
Actually the ending of the anime, episode 23 I think almost brought me to tears. I was on the threshold to cry but I managed to "keep it in". So far there is only 1 anime who have brought me tears and 1 TV-show.
Clannad I have nothing to say about. The only ending I actually liked was the one where he choosed one of the twins? I think they were twins maybe, I forgot. He chose the elder one thou. Well the ending where he choosed the girl with same name as him was also good. I didn't like the fact that in the origin story he went for nagisa. What about you?
Haikyuu was a good anime, even thou I didn't think I was gonna like it at first but it intrigued to much after I saw some clips so I couldn't stay away anymore. Seen it? What did you think about it?
Kuroko No Basuke was also a good anime, one I didn't think would be that good. Sure it had things I didn't like especially when kuroko became depressed when he played against Aomine. What did you think of it?
(This message seems to be a really long one)
Thanks, Have a nice week.
To answer your question about the first anime I saw, the my first anime was Pokemon, although I did not know it was anime at the time. The first anime I watched that I consciously knew was anime was Death Note! I found the story and characters very interesting, and the art style was what drove me seek out more Japanese animation.
Yep, I was very young when I first saw Clannad: After Story. I think what grabbed me immediately when I watched it was how different the narrative structure was compared to Western animation. I had never seen a "cartoon" handle such mature themes, or contain such an emotionally heavy narrative. I may not love the series as much as I used to, but it is still an important anime to me.
My favourite episodes would have to be Ballad of Fallen Angels (5), Ganymede Elegy (10), Jupiter Jazz parts 1 & 2 (12-13), Hard Luck Woman (24), and The Real Folk Blues (25-26). All of these contained scenes and music that resonated with me emotionally, and memorable character interactions.
"Blue" is a fantastic song, and I definitely understand why you like it so much! And I'll make sure to check out the Cowboy Bebop movies soon. :)
"Either/Or" means a lot to me mainly because I discovered it when I was going through a really bad bout of depression. It can be a really depressing album when you're in that kind of negative headspace, but Elliott's soothing voice and scathing self-deprecating lyrics manage to provide much needed catharsis in difficult times. It's tragic how someone as talented as he was died so young! My favourite tracks would have to be Speed Trials, Alameda, Between the Bars, No Name No. 5, Punch and Judy, and Say Yes.
"Revolver" is my favourite Beatles album at the moment! It's the first of their albums where they really became something special and became more than a mere pop group. "Abbey Road" is my second favourite though; every second of that album is gold, especially the proto-doom riffs of I Want You and the medley that takes up most of side B.
Favourite Beatles songs... There's too many! I love "Tomorrow Never Knows," "A Day in the Life," "For No One," "Golden Slumbers," "I Want You," "Being For the Benefit of Mr. Kite!," "Revolution 9," "Helter Skelter," "Happiness is a Warm Gun," "Dear Prudence," "Good Night," "In My Life," and "Here, There, and Everywhere."
I listened to the "W drodze EP" a few weeks ago and I was very impressed! Do you handle the mixing yourself? The production is very impressive for an unsigned(?) band; whoever handles the production side of things in your band has a clear understanding of how to craft a clear yet dynamic mix. I also really enjoyed the piano in the title track. I can't wait to hear more of you music in the future! :)
Honestly, I love "Soundtracks for the Blind" so much that any track can be a standout in my eyes! My first listen was a life-changing experience for sure.
Yeah! I used to go on that site a lot to discover music. :)
I'm updating my favourite album chart right now, but I'll have it up again soon!
I started getting seriously into music around the age of... 12 maybe? The band that really got me hooked was The Beatles, after I purchased a CD copy of their Red + Blue compilation album; after that, there was no going back haha.
Ah I love that album! Have you listened to "Rain Temple"? It's also by 2 8 1 4. Vaporwave is best when fused with ambient in my opinion.
Sorry again for replying so late! If you choose to reply to this, I'll make sure to reply much sooner than last time so you won't be left waiting for two months again!
