Seeing as I've built up a decent amount of titles in my List, and have done a few reviews, I figured a bit of disclosure was in order.
I'm a 50 something guy who, despite a life long love of anime, cartoons and comics, still manages to be a pretty normal guy. I'm happily married (28 years and counting :)), gainfully employed, and have a lot of interests beyond those that bring me to MAL.
My tastes tend to run towards "nice" stories, with "nice" people, and my opinions and ratings are based on those tastes.
I certainly enjoy school themed anme, but am often turned off by excessive fanservice and juvenile humour, so if a series has a over-abundance of panty and/or boob shots, and the streaming bloody noses that tend to accompany them, don't expect a glowing review or rating from me, cuz it's not going to happen.
I like a well written story, with well written and consistent characters, but for me, the look and feel of an anime are more important to some extent, than the bricks and mortar upon which they're laid.
Simply put, if it looks good and feels good, I'm willing to overlook some structural flaws, and again, my ratings and reviews will reflect that.
