idk I just found it funny
I don't care for the story much, I care much more about artwork. It does get some points deducted for generally unpleasant scenarios. Scenarios that go over-the-top or get overly-stupid get bonus points though.
It's just so adorable and fun, and I love having this show to watch every week
I checked out the older one it's pacing was really slow. The break-neck speed the newer one goes at fits much more
I swear to god it was real, it was back when my dog was a puppy, and if it wasn't true I wouldn't need to make the excuse. also thx
If we ever get a ps3 to the club or something I'll sign on to download it, it's a download only game
I'm caught up with the 10 chapters that is translated online, and it's alright, but doesn't have the polish the anime does.
lol it's fine, Prison School isn't for everyone. I just love that kind of comedy.
YOU ARE 100% WRONG, YOU NEED TO MAXIMIZE THE AMOUNT OF GOOD SHOWS WHILE MINIMIZING THE AMOUNT OF AVERAGE SHOWS WATCHED!! THE ONLY WAY IS TO TRY THEM ALLLLLLL!! HIGHER YOUR STANDARDS!!
Cool, but my dog ate my PSP charger and some other shit happened and I wasn't able to get another, so can you bring one if you have one?
My first experience with Scott Pilgrim was the movie back when I was a wee tween. After loving the crap out of the movie I vaguely remember buying the game and thank god I did because it isn't available for purchase anymore. The licensing ran out or some shit. I bought a pack of all 6 volumes a few months back and read it over vacation. 10/10 fukin fantastic. It's super hilarious, the video game references are top notch, and Scott is pretty relatable, at least for me. I'm now almost done with 100%ing the game and I gotta say, the soundtrack is definitely my favorite. Anamanaguchi does a fantastic job with the chip-tune MASTERPIECES.
Unfortunately Mahoujin Guruguru has 24 min episodes. I completely understand the time constraint tho.
It's fine. *fake cries*
Princess Principal: My fav ep was with Dorothy's dad. I'm not gonna say I cried, but I totally did.
Tsuruzure Children: There's a 4-koma manga if ya wanna check it out, pretty good
As for recommendations for anime to watch, it's hard to nail a recommendation for a somewhat broad audience. I would say Inferno Cop is a nice meme and only takes 3 minutes an episode. Danna ga Nani wo Itteiru ka Wakaranai Ken is another good short one. FLCL was brought up last week and that is something that I think everyone would like. Another one I think people would really like is KonoSuba. Or we can smack them over the face with Prison School, the greatest anime ever made.
Sorry for the semi-late response, I had stuff
You have indeed answered me properly.
I am a huge fan of organizing shit, so I need to score mine and update my MAL immediately after watching an episode.
When it comes to choosing anime to watch, do you just try out ones that look cool and/or people recommend? I watch the first episode of everything that isn't a sequel or spinoff to something I haven't seen. I then drop shit I don't like. I used to finish everything, but I don't have the time for that anymore. It also got boring.
Anyway, about this season I can agree with you on at least half of those, but I have different opinions others. Honestly I think this season has been a lot weaker than any other season, but that just might be me becoming jaded from shit.
NOW IT'S TIME FOR ME TO SHIT ON YOUR OPINIONS COMPLETELY
Favorites of the season:
Boku no Hero Academia 2nd Season: 100% agree, I'm a huge fan of the manga too, and I love the crap out of the anime.
+Awesome soundtrack
+ So many great characters
*basically eveything you said*
*The first opening for this season was better*
Aho Girl: I'm really into over-the-top comedies and this one I find absolutely hilarious. It has a very simple premise: Girl is dumb, Guy hits girl for being dumb, but what they do with it makes it amazing. The characters are exaggerated to the extreme. The MC girl (Yoshiko) is ridiculously stupid and has an INTENSE love for bananas (Completely genuine, not illicit at all). The MC guy (Akutsu) is so much of a straight man that he went straight into the real of insanity and is violent to the nth degree and definitely has a superiority complex. The Class president that is supposed to keep indecent actions from happening falls for the mc and is now a stalker that believes she is doing this to protect him. The Yoshiko's mother desperately tries to get Yoshiko and Akustu together in order to secure her financial situation when she retires, and to top it off The smartest and most sane character in the entire show is a dog named dog.
Here's a clip of one of my favorite scenes, it's only 3 minutes and you should check it out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OTYinuDjDzA
Ballroom e Youkoso: I'm a pretty big fan of Haikyuu, so when I heard that there was going to be another anime just like it from Production I.G that had the same art style I was pretty excited. I do like this one a lot, but I think it suffers from the "Same frame on the screen for too long" disease that anime can tend to have. This is especially bothersome because the sport is Ballroom dancing, something that requires motion. The manga doesn't really suffer from that stuff. I've heard it's like Hajime not Ippo, so I really wanna watch that one now. Also the op is pretty good.
Made in Abyss: Once again I 100% agree with everything you said, although there are a few tiny pacing issues and the animation went a tiny bit downhill. I still love the show though. I am reading the manga alongside the anime, which I do with anime I really like such as Ballroom e Youkoso and a few others I'll name later. I am liking the manga a bit more. Also holy crap the setting is so fucking interesting.
Mahoujin Guruguru (2017): Nobody is watching this. NOBODY. AND IT'S SO GOOD. I SWEAR IT'S FUNNY AND ISN'T A KIDS SHOW. It's a remake of an adaptation of an old satirical/comedic SNES JRPG video game. That sentence was fun to type. This show goes at a breakneck pace, making jokes left and right and that's to it's advantage. From what I've seen of the older anime, the slower pace allowed for more exposition and space to breath, but while sacrificing comedic timing. The characters are fun, it's surprisingly well animated, and a lot of fun. The fact that this has only 1,500 users is a travesty and should be illegal. Here's the opening, WATCH IT please: http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x5tb3oe
Pokemon Sun & Moon: I have always been a fan of the games and card game, but I never really watched the anime. I saw random episodes every now and then, but I haven't really sat down and watched a series from start. Until now. It is Pokemon, but with good animation and feels really good to watch. You don't need to watch the older ones too, which is cool. I=You can check out sakugabooru if you wanna see some good clips.
Princess Principal: I like this one. It has a few good emotional moments. It has a neat steampunk art-style/atmosphere. If spies in a steampunk setting sounds interesting, give this one a shot.
Re:Creators: I really love this show for all the same reasons, though I don't wanna parrot what you said cuz this is going to be a really long message and it's taking a while lol.
Tsurezure Children: This is a really fun concept done really well. It's basically the Greatest hits of different romantic comedies smashed into one show. It follows numerous high school couples/soon-to-be couples through various comedic high jinks and occasional emotional moments that do their best with minimal screen time. It's also only half an episode so watching it won't take that long.
Shows I dropped that I sorta have opinions on:
18if: I actually made a half-assed review on MAL because I saw people loved this. They are wrong. This is not good.
Centaur no Nayami: Although I know the manga came out before Monster Musume, I feel like the reason it was adapted was to pander to the monster girl loving audience. Although I say that, I enjoyed the weird red-pill that they tried to shove down our throats with it's interesting politics. When it came to girls talking about girl things though, Galko-chan did it 100x better.
Gamers!: The video game references and the op were cool. It's a generic rom-com with misunderstandings and video games. I might have been too harsh on it the first time I watched it, but I'm gonna stand my my opinion that it's not that great.
Hajimete no Gal: Absolute garbage. Here's an amazing video on how its complete garbage: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eP7QYmEeD-g
Also because I wanna brag about it, I was the one that sent the package in the video.
Isekai Shokudou: I liked the aesthetic and characters, up until I got bored and dropped it. It was just too slow for me. Eating food without any emotional or comedic payoff doesn't work for me. Shokugeki no Souma was insane and I loved that. Sweetness and Lightning was adorable and emotional and I loved that. This had a somewhat interesting setting and then lost me really fast.
Kakegurui: Does this anime have hot anime chicks? Yes. Does this anime have any tension at all? No. Does this anime have any characters that aren't either crazy bitches or asshole bitches? No. I got uninterested fast. I've heard there are much better gambling anime like Kaiji that I really want to watch. I have a lot of problems with this show. All of the evil characters are one-note and just assholes. The fact that these girls are super hot means that the anime can't get too brutal because they need to keep the hot characters hot. There are just a lot of reasons to not feel any tension. Either the mc will win, or she will loose with little to no penalty. This doesn't tickle my fancy.
Koi to Uso: This one had an interesting premise, but eventually going nowhere. There are just too many plot holes and characters fooling around.
Musekinin Galaxy☆Tylor: I've always heard good things about Musekinin Kanchou Tylor, so when I saw a weird alternate version I was intrigued. Then I saw the cover art. Then I saw that it was three minutes. Then I watched the first episode. Dropped.
Sakurada Reset: This show bugs me. It could have been interesting, if it wasn't a snore-fest. It almost caught me somewhere along the line of the 13ish episodes I watched, but ultimately the only reason I watched all 13 was because The Oral Cigarettes was doing the ed and I love those guys.
Tenshi no 3P!: This one was a weird af roller-coaster that fucking kills me. I look at the cover art of 3 little girls and think to myself, "This is going to be utter trash and I'm going to hate it." Not that I hate those kind of shows, but I could tell by the art that it wasn't good. I start up the episode and am introduced to a hikikomori and am greeted with a genuinely interesting 5 minutes. I was interested, maybe this could be a hidden gem. What a fool I was. Thinking he was meeting up with a music producer or whatever, the mc decides to go to the park where he meets 3 little girls. I am then greeted with uncomfortably directed cinematography as I start to rethink my decision to watch this. The episode goes on with plot points such as, "make music for our orphanage", "Let's go into the basement where all of the (musical) instruments are", and ends with all of the elementary schoolers changing into swimsuits and such. I thought this show couln't get any more uncomfortable until it ends and reveals the title of this episode, "Heart Throbbing for Elementary School Kids!" Not good, don't watch this. While looking this shit up I found that other episodes are titled "A Desire to Do It Together", "It's so fun taking pictures of you, because you don't realize how cute you are.", and "Surprise Invitation." wonderful
The Reflection: I'm not gonna blame this one on Stan Lee. He was a part of making this, he wasn't the director, character designer, or animation director. The overall concept was alright, the execution though was hard to swallow. The first episode was a huge mess and it hadn't cleaned itself up much since then until I dropped it. bleh
Youkoso Jitsuryoku Shijou Shugi no Kyoushitsu e (TV): I found this show to be a bit up it's own ass. The mc is a arrogant dick and...actually I here's part of a review on MAL that I found by PizzaOnPineapple, "While watching Welcome to the Classroom of the Elite, these uninteresting characters and nonexistant stakes made me feel so far removed from anything happening that I might as well have slept a bit more instead of wasting my time on this show. Now to be honest, I can see where the appeal comes from. If unlike me you are not tired of these fast-food-highschool shows with some minor twists attached to them, this might be for you. If you just think the overall atmosphere or “vibe” is cool, then this might be for you. For me however, watching this show is more of a chore than anything." This guy says what I would say, but better. I dislike this Chinese cartoon, so check the negative reviews if you really feel like it to see why I do. I agree with most points made.
I'm running out of steam
Youkai Apartment: It was boring
Katsugeki/Touken Ranbu: All style, no substance
Well, that took a few hours of me on and off writing this. Why did I do this? idk. I could probably use this wall of opinions if I ever need to tell someone why I hate a show so yeah, there's an extra reason.
AND YOU THOUGHT THAT YOUR MESSAGE WAS LONG. MINE WAS EVEN LONGER, HAHAHAHAHAHA I WIN
(I'm competitive with dumb shit)
I'm also not gonna reread this shit, so good luck
wait a minute, I put that warning at the end of the message where you already have read the entire thing, ah whatever I'll leave it there and then add an extra little sentence to try and be funny
