((Update August 2014))
I decided to update this section since it's been so long and was in dire need of it. I also went ahead and formatted everything a bit to show dates and keep my old bio intact for nostalgic reasons.
Anywho, I've watched a decent amount of anime since 2011, and while my tastes haven't really changed, my top picks have. In fact, I think Brotherhood was the only one that remains from before! Granted, I still love shows like Shana, Hayate no Gotoku, and Kanon to death, but I've encountered many other anime since that have raised the bar and forced me to reconsider which ones I truly consider incredible. Once upon a time, I thought Fate/stay Night (Studio DEEN) was the shit. That is, until Ufotable opened my eyes and showed me what a REAL adaptation of the franchise could be. Now I'm looking forward to their F/SN anime this fall just as much as Game of Thrones. ;D
I'm glad that I love anime as much as I do though, even after all this time. Despite the hiatuses I take now and again, there's a certain comfort in knowing a bunch of new anime are always out there when I do decide to come back to it, waiting for a possible marathon run. Shows like Steins;Gate, Fate/zero, Madoka Magica, Code Geass, and Hunter x Hunter gripped me from the first episode, making me question why I had waited so long to watch them in the first place. But I'm glad I was able to binge watch them to avoid 3-6 months of waiting in between (well aside from F/Z, which I watched while it was airing).
Also, I went through and re-evaluated my scores for some shows, mainly because I believe my expectations over the years have changed, and their rewatchings have changed my mind. I mean honestly... I gave Fate 2006 a 10/10? Guess I didn't know any better before reading the visual novels. :P
I think that's it for now. Check out my faves and anime list if you want!
((Update 2011))
Geez... even after two years, there's not much to change here. I've seen a lot of great anime in the meantime though, so if you want to know what I think about other series I've seen, check my ratings for them, or ask me personally. I don't bite. xD
((Original - Outdated))
I only became actively aware of the anime industry about two years ago (not to say I didn't watch any, but it was mainly restricted to a few dubbed shows that appeared on Cartoon Network, such as Yu-Gi-Oh!, DBZ, Naruto, and... well, you get the general idea). Luckily, however, a few things happened to raise my awareness of anime as a whole. I had become hooked to a couple of the more well-known Toonami shows (those that were *actually* anime, not the stuff it aired more recently up through to the programming block's cancellation... uugh), and it was thanks to a couple random meanderings on the internet with the intent to look them up that I found plenty of alternatives. Unique story, eh?
Well, it was enough to expand my list from a few titles scribbled in my mind to a plethora of shows that I couldn't even hope to remember from the top of my head in just a short amount of time (ironically, I even have a word document listing every single show I've watched... or attempted to watch). Not that my record is impressive, because it's really not, but I don't know many who would commit a weekend solely to watching Death Note in its entirity. But then again, that's probably one reason why I'm here.
I'm not too picky when it comes to watching anime, since I'll enjoy anything from romantic comedies to sci-fi/fantasy to the slice-of-life genres. However, I've yet to (and I doubt I will, at least anytime soon) watch anything involving yaoi themes as a central or major focus (if there are subliminal hints, I can probably overlook it). Similarly, I don't typically endorse yuri or hentai either, though not with the same amount distaste as guys-on-guys, but all of that is more about preference than about general disgust. If it's anything else, and the various elements of the show doesn't suck, then I'll probably like it, or at least feel intrigued enough to watch it through to the end.
Outside of anime, my interests include just about anything involving computers - not so much the hardware as the software itself, but I know my way around. My major is in Computer Science, so I'd hope that this was true. I also have an interest in video games (namely RPGs, FPSs, and some RTSs) as well as text-roleplaying. In other words, I'm an all-around geek and proud of it. ^_^
As for my favorite shows, Fate/stay Night is near the top in the Fantasy genre, along with FMA, X TV and Shakugan no Shana. And while I haven't seen many shows depicting teenage romance, Voices of a Distant Star ranks high as one of my favorite one-shots, certain to make you choke on the emotions going on between the two main characters. As for more romantic comedies, Kanon is easily my favorite, though Clannad and Air are good as well. As for laughs, Excel Saga, FLCL, and Hayate no Gotoku are simply excellent.

Highly recommend it, it's fun to play with friends and I hear that if you buy a copy of the original and the multi-player one you can give a friend a free on so you can play with them!
OH yay! It would be fun to play together! I have a warrior and a bowman, I usually play with my bowman but I always forget the controls since my friend only plays once a month if that. xD I'll certainly let you know! :)
Yay for Tera! I play Tera too, I love it but I only play it when my friend is available, so sometimes I'm in the mood to play but can't cause my friend is not in the mood or not available, bleh. Haha, but I really like it! I hadn't heard of Divinity: Original Sin, thanks for the tip, I'll check it out! :)
Nice, what games have you been playing? I've also been gaming more than I watch, I believe. I'm thinking of getting a PS4 to play the Elder Scrolls game that's coming out in August. I'm pretty excited about that! :D
How about you? What kind of anime are you watching currently? :)
How have you been?
I'm still waiting for third season to be done, and then I'm rewatching the whole series again xD
