"I Parry" is a power fantasy story, and it doesn't hide that fact or shy away from it. Concept isn't anything unique; it's a "I fear the man who has practiced one kick 10,000 times" type of story, so general enjoyment relies on how you view that concept.
MC is a dreamer who tried becoming an adventurer as a child but was told and shown that he was a failure and had no special talent or ability to do anything related. Instead of giving up, he decides to train little that he learned on his own in what could be described as isolation. When he manages
...
to become the lowest of low handymen, he still readily takes on that task and feels somewhat fulfilled even if his dreams are only left to be dreams.
As he is thrown into crazy situations lacking any knowledge of the world or politics in general, he still, in his mindset, is a failure, which plays partly the comedic role of the show. Critics would call him dumb and dense, but it logically makes sense; the guy literally came out of the woods with a shattered self-worth.
Occasionally it's nice to watch stories about simple, good-natured heroes in a straight-forward setting, without harems, ecchi, or revenge/whatever plots.
As the story evolves, situations become more and more nonsensical, which makes it funnier up to the end, where it might hint for another season.
Out of nowhere, I enjoyed it much more than expected; this is the absurd show done right.

I would call Seiyuu Radio no Uraomote an inspiring show. Without going to extensive depths of hell it still well enough portraits the troubles and difficulties of the profession as the plot revolves around two young VAs who, while having some success each in their own sense, feel stuck at where they are professionally. Be it landing gigs, having confidence, overcoming own limitations or dealing with delulu fans it goes through all of that in only 12 episodes, which is impressive.
As cruel as the rest of anime/media industry it asks someone thinking about this profession - "why would you need this, it's not a job
...
with high level of security and wasting time while you could actually get a solid job might be a stupid decision you will regret eventually". And it's fair, considering how horrible the conditions are for someone like animators in Japan who barely survive in harsh conditions and are simply in love with their work to stop.
It's not an exaggeration to say that VAs among other things are a vital component of any show as it's true they bring life to the characters you are watching. As I recognize VAs I like the most in their roles surprisingly I noticed some correlation between the shows I enjoyed more and the VAs who played part in them, because let's be real you can tolerate production quality but not generic boring voice acting, at least in my case.
Can't exactly relate to specifics of radio talk hosts or VAs as I never tried to be one, but as a singer who spent around 15 years on that craft some of the same topics do resonate. Delivering to the audience with only your voice and encountering people are both more charismatic naturally or more skilled and experienced is discouraging to deal with the longer you do this. While a rookie you don't pay that much attention but eventually you see younger people more skilled and talented and you have to deal with these doubts and walls to continue your own growth. Was lucky not to have to make that my profession so it was easier, but were I a professional, that would hurt even more.
In this regard it's a nice cautionary tale albeit be it with a good ending. Last episode I think was very well done, by using the Storyboard shots to run their voices in full silence really made it a peak episode and it was worth it. They did a great job there.
It also has plenty of yuri bait which is getting called out by the MC regularly but in some cases it mostly shows that they are just young and inexperienced so their lack of confidence create in their heads as characters the situations where they make it more than it really is, which is funny.
It's a solid 7 show, but I give it an 8 as it resonated with me enough to now have fond memories of the time spent watching it.

Man, I NEED to start checking on who is responsible for producing some anime.
After Kill la Kill, after Darling in the franxx I have to know that everything they make is utter chaotic shit.
I knew that the animation and art style reminded me of those and duh, because it's the same guys. I knew that this incoherent bs of a story is something I've seen before, it's because it's the same people responsible. I knew that the cardboard excuse for characters is something I've experienced before, because you guessed it.. Same people. When Kill la Kill had released there was a lot of discussion how
...
it's a neat clever funny Shonen mockery and yadda yadda. No, it wasn't, it's just the kind of people who create such stupid idiotic shows that people assume it's irony, but no it really is not.
What I find amusing is that 3 shows, made with a total of 10 years between them are all the same level of pretentious bullshit with the now trademark level of underlying sexual creepiness of "let's connect" of Lagann, the "expose yourself" La Kill and "ride the chick" of Franxx. The fact that from this show made in 2007 to Darling in 2018 it's like time has stopped for them. There is no growth in their work, it never got better or worse, it was always shit like this. And now when I've seen this trilogy I can clearly understand that it's not the one time thing, the author who made these concepts is really a creep.
It's the cringeworthy worst kind of "がんばってね" (Ganbatte ne)! crap that the heroes keep spouting all the time, in the most unsatisfying manner, and I do wish I haven't wasted 20 episodes watching this trash. After half the season there was a time skip and a change of story, and I hoped for the best, but it's easily murdered by ridiculous lack of human interaction, basic dialogues that characters are incapable of and the nonexistent motivation in most characters. The plot just moves wherever they decide to go, because writing an actual story is too difficult for these guys as always.
In a sense I'll give this one a ONE, because now I realize this is where it started and this is where it will end for me. Three times the charm and I'm certain I'll never make a mistake and watch anything made by them ever again. Trash.

Mushoku Tensei works because characters will struggle, suffer losses in different ways and will overcome their low points in lives, which is the main idea behind the story and what makes it so great to follow.
What defines Mushoku Tensei is the fact that MC is not the godlike OP hero capable of fixing every problem he comes across and blowing up mountains in spare time. It solidifies the idea that a person contains both weaknesses and strengths, and while growing and making mistakes will have regrets some of which will stay with that person forever. And it shows that pretty well.
Beyond that, Part2 is extremely
...
important as a pivotal moment in the plot for many reasons and damn it's a rollercoaster of events. There is no question why Mushoku Tensei along several other series is peak [harem] isekai, however you look at the genre.

Season 1 of Tsukimichi was pretty good. It had quite sufficient progress in terms of story and character development, there were lots of things ramping up and it made the 1st Season generally fun. Season 2 in this regard is a let down and while it still has some good moments, overall I feel like 25 episodes are severely lacking in plot department and feel like a major filler for what's to come. On one hand it shows more of the overall world MC resides in, power struggles and Heroes in this world as well, on the other hand the plot itself feels boring, most
...
fight scenes are drawn out for no reason... scratch that ALL fights are drawn out like crazy. And there are really no satisfying paybacks of these.
Season 2 as a whole is a weird kinda "school" arc with everything that goes along with it and basically to the very end it remains so. Development of some side characters is while fun to follow, still doesn't feel important for the overall story (at least at this stage). Hero struggles again, while fun are inconsequential for the most part. I guess it's required to get these characters in the story and that is the way it was written, but some of the personalities are what I would call cheesy at best.
There is barely any focus on MC himself and his allies (even if they are on the screen their growth is very small compared to the overall season length), and in most events they are passive, which translates into quite a lot of unnecessary discussions as if who cares really. I enjoyed the part where MC couldn't adequately interact with humans as that made it one of the nice features of the show, but basically it's all gone now and doesn't matter anymore.
I do hope that next season shifts focus from these forced "academy"-like things and moves elsewhere, at the very least we didn't have beach episodes and matsuri, I was low key expecting that.
Yet again I feel like shows like Dan Machi (is it wrong to try to pickup girls...) who have at this point 4.5 seasons and keep expanding and growing strong are out of the ordinary and these ups and downs is what should be expected of a more average shows. Still a decent watch but I wish they raise the bar next time.

What I find ironic is the fact that the show itself is an average watchable story as another isekai but with goblins this time. So MC is reborn as a goblin in another world. It's kind of self explanatory what this show is going to be about, goblins in anime typically mean the same tropes every time, but nahhh.. MEGA spoiler: rape, pillage, upgrades. Doesn't matter that they don't show literally anything ecchi whatsoever, all of that is just implied behind the scenes.
And then you have people getting pikachu_face expecting.. different? What exactly was expected here? It's a dumb power fantasy leveling isekai trash show,
...
that's literally what this is and what should be expected. But you don't learn much about the show, rather how everyone is virtuous and how they are fighting for morality in a god damn anime.
Anyways, more substance. The good/decent: pace is very fast, it moves in a manner of a journal by using "days" and then going into less or more details considering what happened, it helps keep the pace and doesn't get drawn out for no reason. They don't stuck with "goblins" for long and continue power leveling everything episode by episode. The way things upgrade doesn't necessarily make much sense, but I believe an old goblin talking about levels and everyone using mmo terminology shouldn't make much sense as well.
It is what it is.
The bad/whatever: quality is subpar clearly, but sometimes it has some glimpses of decent quality in there, VAs are typical for genre, music is whatever, animations are occasionally decent, and sometimes cheap. Second half gets slowed for story reasons and while it makes sense, season ends before it becomes a problem, plus clearly there was a cliffhanger for next season (if that happens). Second season might actually be fun all things considered if they continue power leveling everything.
It's a stupid whatever isekai show to waste some time doing other stuff and it's fine. Some people will go and overdramatize stuff for no reason. This one is a worse version of an idea like Kumo desu ga.

A road movie in a post-apocalyptic world where unknown led to the crash of the civilization and monsters occasionally roam around to consume humans. Two MCs with their own but somewhat interconnected goals travel together for a somewhat vague reason witnessing the world and the state of humanity.
A lot of social commentary on a lawless world, and while the typical topics of the genre are shown and portrayed, nothing particularly dark or grim is to be expected besides the infamous for some commentators rape scene, because in their reasoning show apparently has some obligation before them to discuss it in a manner they find agreeable.
...
Ironically they don't talk about the "wall city" episode which is.. the same thing but actually worse. Double standards much I guess.
As Season 1 goes, the premise is curious, the ideas where it might develop later are interesting and the possible outcomes can also be satisfying as well. It has a feeling of Trigun sort of story where what it starts as and where it ends up is a major shift for the whole narrative as you go along the story. Unless of course the author drops the ball and make up some awful braindead outcome for it.
Art is ok, but I'm not a major fan of character art style to be fair (reminds me of Initial D). Animations are generally good and overall the pace was adequate, so it was easy to watch.
So far it's a very solid show that came out of nowhere and I hope that Season 2 keeps the momentum going. With the way this story is created there is a clear end goal for it, so while traversing a lot of land might take a lot of time, it will come to a conclusion. Season 2?

Man, it's a gag show, but they run with the same gag without any variety at all. And they keep repeating it over and over by changing minor details from a checkboard where they threw together all the "tortures" without thinking too deep about it.
Here is the importance of a comedy or a sketch show like this: It needs to subvert your expectation, and this is the case where it's required. It should lead you on a wrong path while shifting to the punchline that is not obvious for the viewer to make a good joke.
But then the thing is, they kind of try to
...
do so, but it's very immature and doesn't leave much room for imagination anyway, you ARE expecting the things to happen and they do.
A great alternative show if one haven't watched before would be Sleepy Princess or Maoujou de Oyasumi. And that show is everything this one wants to be and more. It has a logical premise (because this show takes forever to even explain how/why did she get there) and instead of going in circles with the same joke, the PRINCESS in that show actually has her own goals which she accomplishes in creative and actually funny ways. This leads to many interactions between the supporting cast and while creating various scenes they end up light hearted.
MC is pointless as she really has no specific personality to deal with, or any specific character they could play around, the Sword is basically narrating for whatever reason which doesn't exactly bring anything comedic.
Gets the "boring" rating from me and I know for a fact I won't ever remember this one in like an hour.

What a weird show, what a weird story, what a weird conflict. So much effort was wasted on this show, and it feels so boring.
We have ninjas who moved from Japan to join up with some evil global elites in order to help them to achieve global domination (because who really cares why), and they produce high tech equipment for their "ninjas" including mecha armor, while doing random corpo political bs in the background. OG ninjas had a beef with new ninjas, so new ninjas want to kill OG ninjas who are exiles. MC is one of these OG ninjas, and he wants revenge, because
...
family.
Apparently being a ninja means being in the open, double jumping in the air with a sword, blowing stuff up while wearing a NEON (I kid you not) bright armor. Also being a ninja means being not capable to overcome even a single f-ing obstacle without tripping alarms. Ninjas is when you crowd up with 20 other ninjas in a hallway visible to your enemy.
But really, once you figure it out, it's just a gore version of Naruto, but without any of the fun parts Naruto had.
All the "special" skills you see in the beginning disappear from the show half way in, getting replaced by mecha fighting and more generic bad guys being one shot in the background. Clarity gives way to lots of smoke, probably to draw fewer scenes and backgrounds. The evil guys do their pointless one liners that don't affect the flow of the show or the story and disappear. MC growls about revenge, and his sidekicks discuss another stupid plan that will, of course, FAIL, because their opponents always beat them to it.
Let's crack into their servers because if we have EVIDENCE and.... Ehm.. Upload it somewhere? Surely it will bring down the large corporation that controls politicians globally and influences Agencies of countries. It's such naive nonsense honestly. It feels like half the story and events are only there to bloat the show to fill it to the whole length of a season. Otherwise it could be an average watchable 1.5 hour movie if we drop the rest of bs.
It's so boring to watch. Incredible how all this production was wasted on this half-assed sad excuse of a story. Maybe I should start doing goddamn scripts for shows as it feels like the overall media industry is filled with hacks who can't write to save their lives. But wtf do I expect, The guy was involved with Jujutsu Kaisen, which is also braindead in terms of story telling.

Took me by surprise as I haven't expected anything and believe that the title picture of the show is extremely underwhelming.
We had things like "skeleton knights" who hide their identities, that's not a new concept but the way MC becomes one and has to deal with the fact other actually know him is still rather fresh.
It also works with him evolving over time which is a thing Kumo desu ga played around a LOT. This story isn't that in depth but concealment is the main point for MC not the evolutions themselves.
MC isn't a meathead which is as usual a major plus for any show
...
and him doing humane things and behaving as a normal person and not an edgy shonen protag is great, it's as great as Chiling in my 30s', it makes worldbuilding better.
While I was expecting it to be mainly a combat show, it really isn't as the show isn't exactly about him fighting everything that moves.
Production quality is good, the show has a slice of life-ish feel to it, but the pace overall is rather fast and by the end of Season 1 there is a major leap for the MC himself which opens interesting future opportunities for both the MC himself and the plot to move forward. It doesn't feel yet if the story will have any actually dark and dramatic episodes, but IMO it feels appropriate if they had them as a tragic tale of an immortal warrior is something that might as well work. But I believe it's more of a typical from zero to hero story, so there won't be any of that.
Gave it an 8 as it's a much better overall story than most alternatives and Season 2 can be a blast.
