THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ALL THE RECOMMENDATIONS!! Getting a second opinion on Angels Egg, Kaiba and Mononoke especially helped because Ive been meaning to watch those forever, but I wanna watch the more mainstream stuff like Belladonna and Paprika before I get into the super artsy stuff just out of my sanitys sake LOL. Still, even though I suck at watching anime the options are so so helpful, Ill add them all to my watchlist and keep you updated if I do check them out.

I still really wanna watch Link click so the second opinion also really helped with that too. Ive heard the Chinese and Korean animation spheres are sometimes even better than traditionally Japanese anime, and the art style is so pretty!! I also really wanna watch at least one corny Chinese BL anime just for the fun of it. Lately I've been planning on starting Higurashi or Haruhi Suzumiya before I do any of that though.

Thanks for the heads up! Im gonna be honest, the avant garde and the experimental nature is the reason I got interested in it, but this and the descriptions of the plot are making me a little hesitant...
