I think it showed how mothers are often worried about their kids doing stupid shit that might hurt them and hence they restrict their freedom.
First it starts with the kid reading a book in a weird empty room and his mom checks on him while doing normal chores. Reason room being empty possibly means she did it on purpose so that the kid doesn't come in contact with sharp dangerous eveeyday items like scissors etc.
Secondly the kids runs off over the fence and mom gets really worried so she takes off his ability to move altogether.
Last scene is just hilarious when the kid turns into a finger , her finger , she wanted to keep her son on her finger , get it? Lmao
While they certainly reuse sets and models, you'd be a fool not to. It's only efficient, not a limiter. Diverse setting is more than doable given the means for production are suitable.
In addition, there are more than enough anime (non typical shounen) that take place within a few, if not singular given settings. I think the scale is a lot larger than you might inherently consider (or smaller, in this case hehe). Series as such I imagine would benefit immensely in a cinematic display from people who more than commonly express blandness in regards to 'typical anime' (and we know MAL has loads of those).
Either way, good chat.
Isn't it weird to utilize MAL Articles for an opinionated post? I'm referring to the 2Dvs3D one that you're listed as having penned. Coming from myself, someone who's kept up with anime the last 10+ years, it's never been about something as arbitrary as 'Which one is better?'. The nature of the question (if you ask one) shouldn't imply selective thinking, it should lead to discussion. Now I'm aware that you had written said article with the intent to 'inform' but the way you pose it allows bias to take control. The question you instigate should be one of recognizing why it's here, how it's effective, and it's potential. I recommend you look into (not an anime) the Star Wars: Clone Wars cartoon, which is an entire 100+ episode series composed of 3D modeling with a focus on a cinematic experience. The utilization of 3DCG to that extent (optimally, without budget constraints) should be a highlight of the post because it's a practical example of the direction in which anime will turn over time. Instead I can't help but feel as if the article you provided isn't any different from the typical 'What's your favorite anime character/series' threads that MAL is so helplessly plagued with.
Just wanted to share my thoughts.
Cheers.
