The Internet and IT have long been part of everyday life. But beyond the obvious conveniences and simplifications afforded us by these modern technologies, we may begin to see the downside of technological progress and the era of postcommunication. The creators of "Serial Experiments Lain", in their anime, sounded the alarm about the popularization of the Internet and the digitalization of interpersonal communication. In their view, all of society will eventually become hostage to the network. And almost 25 years later, we can see that their worries were not in vain. Life in the age of advanced information technology and the so-called metaverse is being told by Dai Satou in his new original story "Yurei Deco". In the world of this anime all social life takes place in the metaverse, people go to work in the metaverse, study in the metaverse, get social approval in the metaverse, which is then converted into "love" - the single currency used in the setting of this anime. Without this "love" you are nobody, you cease to be part of society and become a "ghost" - an outcast of society. You can find out about these and other downsides of information society, such as censorship of "unfavorable" information, political totalitarianism, simulacra, problems of capitalism and so on, from the new creation by Dai Satou and Science SARU studio "Yurei Deco", which can be rightfully considered a logical continuation of ideas from "Serial Experiments Lain".
