That's cool. I started watching anime in 2017. At first, I only watched action and comedy, but in 2020, I got into romance .

Lovely complex is a great show. I started it for the rom-com element, but I ended up appreciating how it explored self-acceptance and breaking stereotypes. Risa and Otani’s story wasn’t just funny, it also felt real because of the way they faced their insecurities. Watching them grow closer despite their differences added a lot of depth, making it more than just a typical romance.

In my case, I watch all kinds of genres, but romance has a special place for me, whether it's anime or manga.
In My Love Story!!, I love how Rinko loves Takeo so much despite his appearance, and how he cherishes and protects her in his own cute way. As you said, that confession was so sweet and heartwarming, I just loved it so much.

I am pretty optimistic about shoujo anime in future seeing they're finally getting more adaptation again this year and quite a bit has been announced as well. I am most excited about Honey Lemon Soda as well :D

I have never read the Ouran manga, so I'm not sure. As for Special A, I honestly forgot a lot of details, but from what I remember it's very rom-com, so it's more of a fun read so if you are looking more into something emotional then maybe look for something else. If you want to read something fun, or enjoy the anime then yeah, I think go for it.

There was quite a bit of VN adaptations when I got into anime so I got into VN back then when the translations were all done by fans and releases in batches. I'm surprised and glad that today many VNs got official English releases. I look forward to your review on Summer Pockets! And oh, I've been curious of Shinigami Bocchan.. what do you think of it, and do you think it's better to watch the anime or maybe read the manga?

Oh is it that rare for anyone to have watched Cross Game or Touch? I also read the manga version for both of them. Actually, as dumb as it sounds I actually learned the rules of baseball by watching Cross Game back in the day. I didn't know much about it before. 😅

My favorite romance anime?... Unironically the first thing that come to mind is Pendulum 😆😆 No really, I cry everytime I just can't control it. Somehow I see it's not in your list so I don't know if you saw it before and maybe didn't bother to add since it's so short. But if you never saw it you really should.

I actually grew up with manga, and was always attracted to shoujo since they have female main character which I can resonate more easily - and most of them are romance so I just keep enjoying that genre until now in manga and anime. I like stories that emphasize emotions, so that's mostly romance and drama.

I remember enjoying Special A when I read it, although it's been years ago haha. Ouran anime was fun though I haven't read the manga yet.. how is the manga?

Kamome's route was great! It was my favorite if not including the true end stories. I really want to play the Reflection Blue but want to wait for official English release.. it's taking them so long. Curious of Shiki's route in particular.

Surprised Atri anime went differently from the VN, I thought they chose to adapt it because it's short enough and may be able to be adapted nicely as anime without changing much.. that's unfortunate..

Yes, the Giji Harem ending was really satisfying. I think more anime are adapting completed source materials now, which is great. This season there's Kekkon suru tte, Hontou desu ka which the manga has ended.

I mostly read romance, more specifically shoujo romance, but if there's any specific kind of manga you're looking for then I'll see if I have something I can share :D

Oh, I'm also looking forward to the Summer Pockets anime! I've played the original one before, it feels quite similar to older Key works - though I've only played Little Busters!, and the other one is Rewrite that feels very different. Are you playing the original one or the updated version Summer Pockets: Reflection Blue?

I am mostly just watching seasonal shows. Atri is one I watched last season, unfortunately I think android romance stories just aren't my cup of tea.. I haven't found one that I resonate with yet. I was quite surprised at how much I enjoyed Giji Harem from last season though - it didn't have much of a plot, but I really liked the couple's chemsitry and progression, it just feels natural.

To answet your friend req message; my favorite romance anime would be Clannad and Fruits Basket, which you have in favorites as well. But I like them moreso from the family drama aspect of it. As for the romance, my favorite would be Nagi no Asukara which I see that you have watched as well.

As for romance manga, I have quite a bit that I really like. Besides those on my Favorites list, my favorites would be Ase to Sekken for pure mature romance, Tsukikage Baby for something with more drama, and Marry Me! (by Yuuki Miku) for a wholesome one.

Btw, I see that you are playing visual novels, is there anything new that you have been playing?

My fav romance anime is fruit basket and Your lie in April.i like kaguya sama too and she is my fav female character till now.

It's wierd for me.. I mean I kaguya personality is what I like and she is not dense or overly dramatic than any female character.

if you want something that you haven't seen, I advise you Mermaid Melody Pichi Pichi, it's a bit childish but the romance is really very cute

Thank you I take note, and yes I very liked Ef A Tale of Memories the story is original, without main character, the story is focused on the story of many couples, and I appreciated this and the opening is nice. Actually I play Clannad visual novel, and I played that of White Album 2 last year for discovering the whole story, I played the route of Setsuna first and it was very nice. In any case thank you :)
