I'll definitely keep it in mind for the future. How are you doing, btw? :)
With regards to Stone Ocean, I can't really give you much of an impression on it i'm afraid. I only ever got about a third the way through it; and it was a few years now since i last read it. From what I do remember of part 6, I was enjoying it more that I did part 5. Stronger/more charismatic characters etc. There's no real reason I stopped reading part 6, probably just got distracted, and before you know it it's been years since I last read a chapter of it. If I was to go back to it now i'd just restart reading it (which I was planning on doing at some point anyways). I'm currently buying the physical releases of part 5 as they come out and was either going to start reading part 6 as it comes out physically or just read it on the Shonen Jump app. Either way it'll be an improvement as I remember the scans I was reading for part 6 were pretty poor quality.
Also, will read part 6 before watching the anime as I find I am more likely to finish it than if i were to attempt to watch it. Get terribly distracted with anime now; been meaning to continue watching Eureka Seven for the best part of a year now!
Glad you enjoy it as much as you do. Part 6 definitely has its fans, but doesn't seem to get as much recognition as part 4 or 7.
I'd say it's probably closer to Irreversible with the "one take-ish" feeling of constant movement. Also like to see feminist themes throughout Noe's filmography (the pregnant woman receiving the same treatment as rape survivors).
Haven't watched any Matsumoto yet, but reading your Dogra Magra review gives me the impression that you'll like A snake of june.
What do you like about climax? I kind of got the impression that it's considered one of Noe's weaker efforts. Though that doesn't mean anything any :\ I did like Irreversible.
Same thing with "Why don't you play in hell?". I love Love exposure and want to watch Red post on escher street (it's only in festivals atm right?) but I never really considered giving "Why don't you play in hell?" a chance. I don't really like crime dramas.
Anyway, I recommend you watch "Pastoral: to die in the country". It does touch on sexuality in some sections, though I don't think it's the main focus (as much as the psychosexual development of the protagonist). It's also probably the most visually creative movie I've seen, including anime (only contender is fallen angels).
Have a nice day!
Oh yeah! Shinji (NGE) had a moment with Kaworu in the bathroom.
