Ah, that's too bad. Well whenever you get that chance and the desire to play through it, then go for it and hopefully it won't disappoint you.
As long as you enjoy it and improve as you draw, that's what matters. I never did get back to drawing lol, one of these days I should give it a go again.
One Piece is a pretty long series so I imagine it could be pretty time consuming. Do let me know whenever you read more though, there's quite a bit in store later in the series so I'm sure it'd be worth it, but don't rush to get through it. And yeah it definitely seemed to me like Vivi's character design changed as her role in the story changed, I suppose that makes sense given the context of it all. I'd definitely say Oda does a better job with utilizing his cast than some other Shounen mangaka. While many of the East Blue antagonists don't really appear again beyond their arcs, quite a few other characters do have recurring appearances and aren't just forgotten and that's one thing I like about One Piece. Some people complain about how almost nobody dies in the series, but considering how much said characters end up being used in the long run I'm generally content with that. And MAL formatting can be a strange thing lol, sometimes what you type doesn't show up the way you'd like.
And I really enjoyed Kill la Kill, it was a very energetic story that remained consistently entertaining the whole way through. It's generally a pretty goofy and lighthearted series but the story does get quite intense in the second half and the twists and reveals are engaging, even if not revolutionary. KLK's not exactly the deepest story I've seen and some might call it simplistic, but it's a series that knows exactly what it wants to do and executes it with style, and I really liked it even in the earlier stages so I found it a very worthwhile experience. It's definitely reminiscent of the Gainax stuff like Gurren Lagann and FLCL so that was pretty neat.
I heard that Ping Pong was really good, a lot of people said it was one of the best of its season. I read one other manga by the same author (Tekkon Kinkreet) and didn't really care for it at all, but I should probably re-read it sometime since that was a while ago and I'm not so sure how I'd feel about it now. I still don't really like the art style at all (though I'd definitely acknowledge that it IS a matter of style rather than just poor visuals, it's just not my thing) but if the story's really good then that's what matters. One day I'll check it out, hopefully it's as good as people say.
Oh definitely, love phases are a strange thing. There's something gripping about hearing people talk about their experiences, or watching an anime about romance. But when it's actually you stuck in that situation, it can be pretty intense and dramatic, so much so that you might find it laughable later on, but it definitely seems serious at the time and like the most important thing in the universe. Quite a bizarre thing indeed.
My summer's been very nice and, strangely enough, it's still not over yet. I have about 3 weeks before I move into college, a while yet not a while. But in any case, it's been a very long summer and I've quite enjoyed it, the highlights of my summer were definitely Anime Expo and my vacation to Japan. I wrote about both of those on the blog so I'll link you to those in case you're curious:
http://animeanemoscope.wordpress.com/2014/07/09/anime-expo-2014/
http://animeanemoscope.wordpress.com/2014/08/15/japan-vacation/
Well it's definitely good that you enjoyed it then, it was a bit slow-paced for me although I feel it did turn out pretty nicely in the end. The characters developed a good deal in the long run so I quite liked that.
I still haven't gotten around to Hoshi no Samidare, too much stuff to get to and (even with my super long summer) not enough time. TT~TT I'm way behind on my blogging, I made quite a few posts in June, then July was a busy month for me, and I was sorta busy in August but also recovering from all of my summer adventures from the month before so I picked up a lot more anime and manga and I'm......still literally months behind on the series I want to blog about. It's a sad thing lol.
Punpun's ending was actually fairly optimistic. Well, as optimistic as something as despairing and dark as Punpun can get LOL. I mean it's not a super happy everyone gets what they want end, but I feel it's a fitting conclusion that works well with Punpun's character and shows that life still goes on, even when things get really bad and if the future seems grim type of thing. It was definitely a painful journey to get there, but it could've ended up a lot worse I think.
I'm gonna have to look back at my homework advice in about a month lol, I'm so far out of school mode I'm not sure how I'll handle it once I do start. Thankfully I only have 3 classes (and disturbingly enough, I have less classtime in my entire week than on my worst school day during senior year......that's pretty bad) this quarter so I think I'll be able to ease in and manage somehow. I'm considering getting an on-campus job but I'm not sure what I'd be any good at, or what I really want to do for that matter. It seems like such a different world, it'll be a real shock moving in and leaving home, but I think it'll be good for me.
Awesome, let me know whenever you do pick up White Album 2. WA2 was on my mind for months and I still haven't found another series afterward that hit me that hard (though I guess that's the point when it comes to finding a masterpiece), it's something amazing and it blew me away since I didn't expect that much out of it. I hope you enjoy it as I did, it's a well-constructed story with a great cast and one of the most powerful romances I've ever encountered. Heartbreaking yet beautiful.
I'm replying slowly again too lol so don't worry about it. Gonna try and increase my replying pace though, I'm months behind on my MAL and blog stuff but I wanna see if I can catch up to it all and not have to worry about lagging so much. Probably late to be trying this since my summer's almost over, but hopefully I can keep those habits up through my school year and whatnot.
Oh yeah, so I figured I should ask people for recommendations and whatnot since summer's arrived. I can't really say “arrived” now since my summer's actually almost over, but I guess it can't hurt to ask anyway. It's a bit of a tradition to ask for an anime/manga/visual novel/video game/pretty much any series recommendation from my real life friends so I've been doing the same for my friends on MAL as well. So I'd like to ask for one series you think is fantastic that I haven't gotten to yet, and if it's okay with you I'd enjoy giving you one to try as well. I don't really have any preferences as far as genre or story style (trying something new wouldn't be bad at all, though if there's something great that you know is my type of story then by all means go for it) so as long as it's something you think is a worthwhile experience, I'm absolutely fine with it. Whether it's an anime or manga, or perhaps something else, I'll be satisfied as long as it's a story I haven't seen (say, if there's an adaptation of a manga I'm already keeping up with, I'd probably stay away from that for the time being since it wouldn't be “new” for me). If I had to give any specification though, I'd prefer a story with great characters since a lovable and well-developed cast is generally what I love most from a series. Any series with good characters is fine by me, no matter what it is.
Hm I didn't expect that he will raise to power after that one incident but I guess that is logical because he pretty much saved whole city and more importantly all the nobles who were there XD I hope we will see more in the future about Hao's first life.
Hahaha well those were my genuine feelings toworads AnH XD
Yup I also kmjcouldn't believe that XD
Btw I have seen spoilers for SKF next chpater, and it looks like that (ugly) girl is Ren's daughter xD http://www.mangasky.com/shaman_king_flowers/22/2/ She looks like Ren from the last shaman king chapter XD Well if she's really Ren's daughter, then it looks like Yoh isn't the only one who got kid early XD And Redseb and Seyram support some other God, interesting :)
About xxxHolic, I say both xD I really liked anime and there is some kind of ending in anime, if you watch xxxHolic rou xD And if you start reading manga I recomend to read Tsubasa too, because usually something happens in Tsubasa and we only see the consequences of that event in xxxHolic manga :)
What do you thing about new Skf chapters ;)
Indeed, Fate is a fantastic series and the VN is incredibly worthwhile. I managed to finish the entire thing, with the only loose ends left being whatever random dead ends I haven't seen yet (since apparently you get something for seeing all 40 bad/dead ends in the game). It's quite a long journey but it's very much worth it and all 3 of the (long yet awesome) routes are necessary to tell the story properly. If you ever do have the time for it, I would definitely recommend the Fate/stay night VN and Fate/Zero. F/SN's VN is a great deal more interesting than the anime imo, but it's much more time consuming as a result. Fate/Zero's anime was brilliant but I still have yet to read through its light novels.
Doodling is definitely a good way to relieve stress. Sometimes you just have to let your feelings out in some form, and that's definitely better than smacking the person next to you. Doodles can end up with....very interesting results, so that alone can be worth it. And it can be a very good idea to use that to deal with any sort of complicated situations like that, it can help you sort out your thoughts, and who knows, maybe it'll become the next big artistic creation. xD
Nice to see you've gotten into One Piece too. OP does start slow in comparison to a lot of other Shounens out there, but it's all for the better in the end. All the buildup and exposition is handled (and in a not so bad way when I actually go back and re-read the early arcs) before getting into the real story content, and as many OP fans seem to agree on, probably the first true instance of that is the Arlong arc, and it's fantastic indeed. While Nami's personality is fairly clear even long before and the readers get to know a decent amount, it's not until Arlong arc where we REALLY get to see what her deal is, and the flashback is only the first in a succession of Oda's great storytelling with character flashbacks.
It's a funny thing how Vivi looks like a disposable enemy at first yet becomes such a relevant and lovable character with time. It's interesting how even her character design seems to change a bit once she joins the Straw Hats. Vivi's a character with a lot of heart and even though she may not be especially powerful, she's far from useless. One of the nice things I love about One Piece, Oda doesn't allow his characters to be cannon fodder (besides, well, fodder Marines for obvious reasons) and everyone is relevant and useful in some form. Something I wish Kishi and Kubo would take to heart more often with their side casts. xP But back to OP. And the power of friendship is quite something in OP. There are some really beautiful bonds in this series and Vivi's connection to the Straw Hats is a shining example of that. There's one arc in particular that also focuses heavily on this, but I'll leave you to read that for yourself lol. And Sanji trolling Crocodile was great. Sanji in general is great, along with Zoro. Both of them are really entertaining, and I can say the same about the rest of the cast too.
Ah yes, the struggle of horrible scans. A lot of older Shounen chapters suffer from this (it seems like older Naruto and Bleach ones are like that and I know for a fact JoJo suffered from this in older chapters too) and it can be a real drag sometimes. Really makes you appreciate how glorious scans for new chapters look these days in comparison (well, usually, you'd hope they'd all be that way, but.....). And it's sad how every time you think it'll all be resolved, some villain comes in to keep screwing things up. It's really quite a dramatic read and it remains intense all the way until Crocodile is defeated and Pell makes his heroic save. It really feels rewarding to see the group relaxing after such a hard battle, though it's sad when they finally have to leave Vivi. All the same though, that goodbye was a powerful moment and one of many great images for OP with the friendship mark and all. And yeah it does take a while for OP to really hit its greatest, luckily for you many hold Alabasta to be one of the greatest arcs of the series so I can proudly say that you've read enough to be in a position to properly judge the series. xD But as awesome as Alabasta is though, there's still a lot more greatness to come. The next arc (Skypiea) is one I really loved, personally I think I liked it a bit more than Alabasta but that's not the case for a lot of people so don't expect too much from it. After that is Water 7, which I would deem to be the pinnacle of the series and one of the greatest arcs of the series in terms of both character development and amazing fights. Beyond that there are some (less but still very) awesome arcs before reaching the big fight arc that marks the end of OP part 1. Lots more to enjoy from the series so look forward to it. Part 2 hasn't progressed a whole lot, only 2 arcs have been completed and so far it's not quite as impressive as part 1 at it's best. But some chapters have really established greatness for what's ahead so I'm not counting OP part 2 out just yet.
Seems like it'd be pretty easy to get cluttered lol, I can't deal with that (or how most of my electronics have a nasty habit of falling out of my pockets and having a bad date with the concrete) so the bag is nice to have.
Quite a pain to deal with indeed, but hopefully the worst has passed and better things are ahead. I get what you mean, especially since I feel like I have senioritis. Second semester of 12th grade feels like filler and I'm much too obsessive to let my grades go down too low, so I'm feeling lazier than usual (only enough to make sure I don't freak out about my grades of course) and so it's almost impossible to avoid slacking off to some degree.
I get what you mean lol, stuff like that requires a lot of prep and it can be a pain to deal with the details of it all. Not like I really have anything I can say about that since I'm the guy who finds a corner to use his laptop to pass the time at holiday parties and such.
Well I don't think I've actually watched/read any series directly about hackers, though there are some that come to mind. Inumuta from Kill la Kill's pretty much a computer hacker whose powers rely on his knowledge from his database, so that was pretty cool. There's also Daru from Steins;Gate, who's obsessed with dating sims and the like but also happens to be an intelligent computer hacker as well, which ends up being pretty important to the story. Also, have you heard of a manga called Bloody Monday? I haven't read it, but it appears to be about a computer hacker and it looks to be a pretty interesting manga. Perhaps that will be a nice way to get into computer hacking stories.
But yeah it's crazy just how much computer hackers can do in today's society. I've heard a bit about the NSA and the whole internet privacy deal and whatnot. There's a lot that can be done as far as computer hacking goes, technology's advanced quite a lot. Perhaps that's another reason I'd like to go into computer science, it seems like having computer knowledge could allow for, well, a wealth of things really. I vaguely remember Digimon from childhood but I only ever saw random episodes. One of these days it might be nice to go back and watch through it, though I probably wouldn't appreciate it as much now as I would've then.
It's good to set goals for exercise, though reaching them can definitely be a painful process. It's really hard trying to be successful with these things, but eventually you'll start to see change if you keep at it. And indeed, love is a strange thing. It's quite a powerful feeling that makes one believe they can do almost anything with it, and I know I definitely convinced myself of that when I needed it most. Though I had really strong feelings because of the circumstances, it's one of those things where I coped with what was going on because of those feelings and, well, things like that don't always turn out so well lol. I can probably say my love phase was one of the most dramatic and intense parts of my life, but I'm glad to say I don't have to worry so much about that now with my uneventful life. I'd rather let the eventful stuff happen in the anime I watch. xD And I get what you mean, body language and how people present themselves does play quite a part in it. There are some people who just have those quirks that really work too I suppose.
Ah, well that would definitely get some exercise in then. It's certainly good to set specifics and slowly creep them up to get progress with that. Sadly, I find myself quite limited in time (and the available time I do have is certainly more enjoyable on not so exercise-ish things for me) so it's hard to find ways that I can get anything that would count as any sort of valid exercise. I suppose I could run or use the exercise bike, but then I have all these other things to do.....it's quite a troublesome task.
So Tsuritama, hm, I'm not quite sure what to say since it's been almost 2 years (....a really disturbing thought actually) since I started it. Well, I really enjoyed the last stretch of Tsuritama and more than anything that was pretty much made the anime for me. The last few episodes were really exciting compared to the slow-paced and relaxing atmosphere of the rest. What was your opinion on those?
I can definitely relate, I typically try to avoid (at least when I know I have no time) longer anime since I know those would devour my free time and take over my life. Funny thing is how I'll find that I watch a large number of pretty good series that could've been spent on one super long but amazing series, and in the end that might be better since I'm not glued to one story for an extended period of time, but it's really quite a sad thought.
I've heard of Annarasumanara and I've seen it with a really high score here but I don't know a whole lot about it. Sounds like a really powerful read from that description, seems like a series with a lot of realism and themes relevant to real life struggles so I'm sure it's quite a rich story. One of these days I definitely have to give it a read, I'm sure I'd enjoy it.
Yep, ridiculously hilarious is just about the best way to describe FLCL. It's the best way to describe quite a few Gainax series it seems and KLK's certainly staying true to that Gainax style its creators picked up too. Expectations are a dangerous thing, they can really impact how you view a series so it's definitely best to just enjoy a series for what it is and then watch as it unfolds in a brilliant fashion. Everything needs time to develop, after all.
Damn, Dorohedoro seems like a series filled with a lot of thematic development and it sounds like it's capable of being a pretty dark read. Love that it touches on the moral aspect though, that'll definitely draw me in. A large cast of characters that do questionable actions yet can't be completely hated for them? Sounds fantastic. On the topic of large character casts, Ryohgo Narita works (Baccano! and Durarara!!) come to mind for me. Those do such a fantastic job of shifting perspective and giving great development for a vast range of characters. While I personally prefer Durarara!! (mostly because I really like the characters and the setting is more my style), Baccano! is exceptional in how it only has 13 episodes yet fills its story with more development for its very huge cast of characters than a series twice as long (or perhaps even longer) is capable of, and without any major pacing issues at that. Anywho, back to Dorohedoro, one of these days I definitely have to read it, it sounds fantastic.
I am a Hero sounds pretty interesting too, another Punpun-esque story about a regular person's struggles through life and coping with relationship issues and inferiority complexes and such. Well, I doubt it's really that much like Punpun but Punpun certainly comes to mind for me when I hear about the darker stories about everyday life and realism. Punpun's interesting in how it follows its protagonist from childhood to adulthood in a story of that nature, it seems I am a Hero (and probably a great deal of other manga, really) doesn't do that. Well, Punpun is one with lots of time to develop to begin with so that's how it goes I suppose. Looks like another one of the countless manga I definitely want to read but just don't have the time to quite yet. One day.....one day......
Alright, sounds good. Hopefully you enjoy what's ahead with JoJo. Phantom Blood was a fun experience for me but it's really Battle Tendency that starts the JoJo wagon in getting into full gear.
Lol awesome, do let me know when you get around to the rest of Psycho-Pass. And Steins;Gate should be one you enjoy as well.
Madoka's definitely a series with a lot of recognition, and while I wouldn't personally consider it one of the tip top creations of all time, it's very much a powerful watch. It's dark, tragic, and certainly not what you'd expect from a story about little girls getting magic powers, but it's quite well written and it's a great watch so do look forward to it.
I'm sure you've gathered that I enjoy KLK quite a bit, and all the more so with its latest episode being what I would say is undoubtedly its best episode yet. The way it handled its reveals and the scale of the fights was really powerful, it's truly shaping up to be the great TTGL successor I was waiting for. Not sure how good it will get by the end but I loved it from the beginning and I'm loving it even more now.
I probably mentioned it to you at some point or another but scheduling the work does wonders for getting stuff done. Like for me, I focus an hour on homework/responsibilities/etc., then leave the next hour for anime/games/blog stuff/etc., and keep repeating the process. Of course, easier said than done, as even right now I'm sorta disregarding the homework that I SHOULD be doing (though it is nearly 2 in the morning so to begin with, that's not exactly the greatest time to work on school responsibilities that, for all intents and purposes, really don't need to be done in the immediate days ahead anyway), but if you really do focus on it then it's a nice way to get work done early. If you really feel like you're driven insane by work and whatnot even with that, an extra episode or so couldn't hurt, but it's really important to make sure said episode doesn't turn into, say, 10. That's when things get really bad.
Sounds like quite a bit of manga to keep up with. Always so much to read when it comes to these.
It was quite a long reply indeed but it's all worth it, quite a lot to talk about. Speaking of which, before I end my reply.....
After over a year, I've finally found another series that I personally would deem worthy of a 10/10. The last one I encountered was Geass (and I'm sure you know how long ago that feels lol), so what could the new series of fabulousness be? Well that would be White Album 2, a romance drama anime that actually just came out during the last season and is very recent as a result. WA2 was a REALLY powerful watch with emotional developments and the events almost always had great significance to the rest of the story. It's a series with great development for its main cast and absolutely lovable characters. Lovable though they are, however, they're far from perfect, and the flaws of the characters in a situation they really can't help drives the incredibly heartbreaking yet beautiful tale that takes place. WA2 is a really gripping watch and while I did expect to enjoy it, I did not anticipate I would love it as much as I did. Perhaps the best part, however, is that it's only 13 episodes. Normally I have lots to complain about with 13 episode series since they're usually lacking in development or rushed in their pacing. WA2 does not suffer from this at all, and if anything I feel 13 episodes was a perfect amount for telling its story. Never have I loved a one-cour anime so much. I can't really be sure how much you'll enjoy it since it may not be your thing, but it was easily the most memorable anime (or really any type of series) experience I had in a long time. Oh and I forgot to mention it has amazing music that only gets better (or, in some cases, more heartbreaking TT~TT) with its relevance to the story. Just.....WA2 won't be out of my mind for a while.
Had to get that out there since I've been lagging on replying to people online and haven't told too many people about my thoughts on that. I mean, there's always something unspeakably glorious about finding a 10/10 series. I don't know what'll be next, but it'll be excellent whatever it is.
Anywho, it's been nice replying to this. Seems I have quite a semester ahead of me so not sure how quickly I'll get back to you after that, but hopefully I can do that sooner than later.
Yes, yes I noticed! How badass they look, I am curious to know when will Hao become their master.
Hm how interesting, both this and previous chapter of SKF has about 20pages, hope this won't become trend.
Indeed Tsubasa is weird xD The only reason I started reading Tsubasa is because I wanted to know what happened to alternative version of Kamui from X, to fully understand that I have had to read xxxHolic at the same time. It is ironic that Kamui only appeared in one arc of Tsubasa and that I liked xxxHolic more xD
I'll definitely ask some friend to download me SE and Dorohedoro. I need some good manga, lately I have been reading only one-shots(though you would have been surprised how many great one-shots exist, some are even better than some mangas ;D)
To say Aku no Hana has weird plot would be understatement. Never have I seen anime with such weird plot xD Friend who recommended me this anime, said it's sometimes boring and something nothing happens in some episodes, but I can't say I agree with him. It's anime that explores how can one fucked up person influence in persons inner dark desires, and if that individual has strength to prevent ''blossoming the flowers of evil'' inside of him ;D The main character is even bigger wuss than Shinji Ikari from NGE and Amano Yuki from MN, and I thought something like that is impossible xD
You will probably notice that MAL has mixed reviews about that anime, so I'll tell you my opinion. I am one of those persons who, when watches something just goes with a flow, I don't ask myself:''How is that possible, what just happened, OMG they are so stupid etc '' xD Everything will be explained sooner or later, and if not, we as viewers must find answers of our own xD So most people criticize how when main character ens up in other world(don't worry I didn't spoil you anything, that happens in first episode) most of the people ask him where is he from and chase after him even though he explained couple of times that he is from other world and some part of his past. And most of the critics state that from that moment they knew that that anime is bad xD When I started to watch this anime I didn't have high expectations, due to the nature of how people fight in this world. And in the beginning I hated Zed (first main character) and loved Noa(second main character) Zed seemed to me like some typical Sasuke like character. And boy how I was wrong ;D What I liked about this anime is how plot twist are unexpected. What seemed like happy ending for one princess turned out to be quite nightmarish one. I also like how characters change, even though I dislike Noa, he went trough quite a bit of changes, and in the end of anime, was his final change-the person who he used to be. And each of the states in that world has a different way of running the state, so that was interesting to see also ;D
Well, my whole family doesn't believe in God, so for my family it is chance to sit together and eat xD It's not even about presents, we get presents on New year xD
Wish you all the best in this year ^^
I agree about your opinion for Annarasumanra. It's the first manhwa I have read and I am glad that I choose that one :) It's outstanding
Oh wow, that's some pretty neat information about the usefulness of doodling, makes sense too actually. And nice, glad to see you've enjoyed what you've read of OP up to that point. Alabasta arc was a fun read for me and one of the more memorable arcs, easily the most enjoyable arc up to its point. Vivi was pretty cool and I wished she would join the crew, but sadly it was not to be and the farewell scene was still very iconic so it wasn't such a bad thing. My favorite parts of the series are still to come though so look forward to the rest and enjoy it whenever you get around to it.
I'd imagine a lot of other people had that problem for the same reason. I never put my iPod in my pocket though (I always have a small bag of sorts to carry around) so I suppose that wouldn't have been my issue to begin with.
Well the college work itself is something I'll have to find out about myself. The apps process was a pain but mostly because I didn't get everything done as fast as I should've. It wasn't the most stressful thing in my life and I wasn't so pressed for time I panicked excessively or anything, but it was a drag wasting Thanksgiving break time on it and if nothing else I'm glad that's over with. Well, hopefully college won't be so bad, at the very least it won't be as horrible as my schedule at high school tends to be (being stuck till 3 every day plus having calculus two nights a week......oh dear). Either way, that college education will help me make more money when I get older so the suffering may hurt now but it'll be worth it in a decade or two I imagine. And as long as you enjoy your Christmas and spending time with your family and whatnot I suppose that's what matters most. Of course, I'm the obsessive type of person who always wants to buy anime so it's really nice when I actually get a chance to increase my constantly minimal money supply. And jobs, oh man. I still haven't gotten a job myself, though I'll probably wanna get one soon. Soon meaning summer at the very earliest, of course. No guarantee if that will even happen (I'm not even sure what I would do honestly) so I'll just have to find out about all that later.
Ah, yeah Breaker's a pretty fun series, that thought never actually crossed my mind though. That does seem like an interesting idea and I'd love to find a series that focuses on a hacking genius or something like that, especially since I wanna do the whole computer science thing so that'd be cool.
Well there are lots of other games to enjoy out there anyway. Never enough time to play all the things you want so can't focus too much on the things you don't care a whole lot for.
I get what you mean, I tend to be quite pessimistic myself. I easily convince myself that it's better to keep expectations low to avoid disappointment than to look forward to something only for it not to be quite up to par. With these type of things it's really nice to have a goal in mind. I remember I lost a lot of weight one time, and that was primarily because at the time there was a girl I liked so I was really dedicated for that haha. Well, chances are I won't have something quite so convenient anytime soon so I doubt I could use anything like that to do that again. Not to mention I wasn't nearly so disillusioned about things back then either so that's part of it as well. It's a strange thing.
Oh wow, that's pretty surprising actually. I mean, me being who I am, walking up and down stairs is more tiring than it should be, but the thought of it being exercise....this could be helpful. My high school doesn't have any stairs, though the college classes I take do require them so there's one way to get some exercise. I guess the stairs in my house work too, though these days I really do mindlessly go up and down those. I wonder if that's made a difference now that I think about it.
Oh nice, yeah I imagine you'd enjoy it then if Mononoke had the same director, I didn't know that. It is a pretty fun series and it's really different from most anime out there so for that alone it was a worthwhile watch. The last episodes are really good imo though so look forward to those, for me they were the highlight of the anime but you'll just have to see what you think. And manga's definitely easier to get through so I guess it makes sense if you've gotten used to that. Maybe you'll feel more up to anime later on though? Who knows.
Oh nice, yeah in that case I'd probably understand the references to some extent then. I wasn't a huge fan of FLCL but I have seen it through (and, admittedly, I'd probably like it a lot more now than I did when I first watched it. Improper expectations can really drag a series down) so I'll just have to see when I read it. Nice to see that it references Gainax stuff and actually has a solid plot and characters, I think I'd really enjoy that.
Oh wow, sounds like a pretty unique universe. Doesn't seem like anything I'm familiar with at the very least so it'd be a worthwhile read for me. And if a series has a great cast and questions the moral lines then that's bound to be something I like, it really adds depth to the development and it's an element I very much enjoy seeing. If violence is a big thing here that probably won't be a huge issue for me at least, like you said I read Berserk (which up to date is one of the most explicit stories I've seen in just about every aspect, probably THE most in general but Saya no Uta is probably as bad, if not worse, in some areas). Anywho, one of these days I do wanna check it out, seems like a fascinating read.
I've heard of that one by name but that's about it, I'm not really familiar with it. I just read the synopsis and for some reason I got a Punpun vibe, I'm not even quite sure why.
It is quite an entertaining watch, my last blog post was actually about it so if you're curious about it you could give it a read to see if it's something you'd enjoy. It was pretty fun and I'm definitely looking forward to both the outrageous gamer otaku humor as well as the more drama character-oriented moments, hopefully the next seasons will entertain me as the first did. If you want, you could read the manga since that was the source material for the series. Only thing is, well, that's an ongoing. Ongoings just never stop adding up when it comes to manga lol.
Yep, it's a strange thing having read all of the available JoJo material ever made. Granted, more than half of that was cleared 4 years ago or so when I read up to part 5, but it wasn't the easiest of tasks reading parts 6-8 either, er, at least what exists of 8 since that's ongoing (manga ongoings again, they never vanish!). And I get what you mean, the anime is a lot flashier and has a really striking style with its usage of colors, it's a really beautiful depiction of the source material. Not that JoJo had bad art or anything like that, but the style is definitely a lot older. It was nice seeing how JoJo's art developed over time though, Araki really established an interesting style as the series continued so that was really neat. No shortage of fabulous poses, and I LOVED how the anime incorporated them, I hadn't paid so much attention to them in the manga but it was great how they were all over the place in the anime. Dio is quite the villain, made to be about as scumbag and evil as possible, yet he seems to have a following all the same. As for the mansion, well, like you said, it is a Shounen and Jonathan surviving was a bit plot induced, though more than anything I guess that was just to establish the conflict between the two more than anything. After all, something like that couldn't be the big battle at the end, JoJo develops significantly more than that. And nice, that battle was quite interesting and the introduction of the Ripple was pretty neat. If you do get time you should watch through the rest, when the anime covers part 2 of the manga material it really shines. Part 1 was great to watch as well but part 2 was significantly more interesting for me and one of my personal favorites of the entire manga.
I would definitely recommend Steins;Gate, if time travel stories intrigue you it is certainly a must-watch. It's one of my favorites with a powerful story and a masterful use of its cast. None of the characters are useless storywise and everyone plays an important role, supposedly, even more so in the VN than the anime. It's a very worthwhile watch and I'd love to play the VN as well.
I don't listen to the anime OST before giving a series a watch (mainly because I like being blown away by the music once I really start, which is why I also personally avoid OPs/EDs of ones I haven't watched yet) but if I see a composer I recognize for a series I'll definitely want to watch. Hiroyuki Sawano comes to mind in particular. OSTs for stuff like KLK, Attack on Titan, and Guilty Crown were phenomenal. And I haven't really watched a whole lotta magical girl stuff myself, if anything Madoka was probably my first one and it was a very interesting series. It's dark, has an interesting premise, great execution, and a brilliant OST. To be honest, I didn't love the entire cast, but the major characters played their roles very well and it connected to the themes brilliantly so it's quite a watch.
Yeah KLK has gotten more intense as of late. There was one episode that focused on Mako in particular and that was one of my big favorites of the series. From there things get pretty intense, and the last episode in particular really amped up the extreme levels and it looks like the main plot will get into gear so my expectations are high and I can't wait for more.
Thanks, I've indeed been working quite hard with all that schoolwork. Much more than I expected or wanted to considering it's senior year, at that. But it's just one more semester until......more school work? My schedule will undoubtedly be better at least so that's something to look forward to. I really can't wait to see what kind of epic anime fans await me in the world of college, as long as I don't get stuck with a bunch of crazy elitists though, that'd be a real bummer.
FMA's, well, it's an interesting story no doubt but it's certainly far from "bizarre" as far as the world of manga goes. It uses a lot of Shounen tropes and aside from its use of alchemy as the main energy and combat medium, it's not necessarily the most unique of stories, but the execution is utterly fantastic and just about everything feels right. It builds up very well and it's a lot of fun throughout. Whenever you feel up to it, give it a shot and I don't think you'll be disappointed. I really hope you aren't at least, a lot of people hold it in high esteem and for good reason.
Well you could go for the anime, I personally felt it looked better than the manga (well, typically that's how it is but it really depends) and from what I saw of my DVDs (despite me never really watching through the entire anime) it actually adds some fights the manga skimped out on so for that alone I think the anime would be worthwhile. Only thing is, obviously, the anime would take much longer than the manga. I think the anime's probably the better experience overall to be honest (and one thing I really like is, it actually has a fantastic dub. From my impressions I think I'd enjoy the dub more than sub, I can't be sure until I watch through all of both but at the very least the dub is not bad by any means), but if you're not as big on anime and if you don't have so much time, it's probably better go with the manga. If you enjoy the manga, that's all the more reason to get to an animated and somewhat expanded version of it later on.
Btw just saw you have read Annarasumanara? What do you think about it? :)
The birth of Hao that wants to be Shaman king ^^http://mangafox.me/manga/shaman_king_0/c006/35.html I guess something like this is true even today
Ending really surprised me o.o Poor Daitaro. I'm really interested to see what will happen next, even if it means SKF will come out later. Also it would be nice to see how did Hao established Asakura family . What were your thoughts about this (super awesome) chapter?
To tell you the truth I am confused right now xD It's kinda funny how I managed ti understand that Sayroan from Tsubasa is his own father and I can't figure out is this Yoh real or replica xD
Because I don't have net, currently I am reading nothing ;( But as soon as I have net, I'll probably start reading Soul eater or that manga you recommended to me :) And I started watching AKu no Hana ;D Have you seen it? And I've been re-watching YGO 5D'S and Kiba ;D
How did you spend the holidays? In Serbia, we celebrate Christmas today ;D
Ah, well it's good you were able to fix it then. I was trying to read how to fix mine when I had headphone jack issues and a lot of people mentioned that, though sadly I was still unable to fix it in the end.
Well the past few months have been a killer with all the schoolwork and college app stuff. October and November were both quite troublesome, especially around the end of November when I had to finish up the college app stuff. So much stress to deal with. Finals weren't pleasant either, but they weren't quite so bad. But now I've been relaxing a whole lot with winter break here and I've been able to watch a lot more so that's been great. Got a bunch of gift cards for Christmas as well so I've been able to buy more anime, that's always a nice thing. I've also had a lot more time to make new posts on the blog with the break here, I wasn't able to post a whole lot in the last few months with all the school stuff to deal with but I've been steadily making up for that and posting as much as possible.
Ah, well X and Y seem to be quite popular indeed. From what I've heard, they added a lot of new features and made big changes to the gameplay style so it's no wonder people are raving about it so much. Still have yet to buy it, but one of these days I intend on getting it.
Well improvement will take a while when it comes to that sort of thing, but the more you do it, the better the results will get. Might not feel like anything is changing but if you stick with it, you'll see improvement. Unfortunately, I haven't been doing anything like that at all, so no improvements for me lol. Probably getting worse if anything.....
Ah, my anime pace has been quite slow as well until winter break. What do you think of Tsuritama? I watched it back when it was still ongoing, I didn't care for it a whole lot at first but I really enjoyed the last few episodes. And nice, I've heard Hoshi no Samidare is a really good one so I definitely want to check that one out sometime. That lizard thing seems....quite strange lol. I'll have to try it when I get the chance. Looks like you've been reading quite a lot indeed, so many things I wanna check out there.
My blog does have some of the stuff I've watched/read, though I'm so behind that it's not nearly up to date yet. Last month I finished watching Kami nomi zo Shiru Sekai, which I've been watching for anime club. I actually went and finished it on my own about a week before we saw the last episode though. It was pretty good, lots of humor but the drama wasn't so bad either. I hear the best is still yet to come though so I'm looking forward to the other seasons. I watched all of the anime adaptations of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure (aside from the Phantom Blood movie that never got released outside theatres) as well. The Part 3 OVAs were a decent watch but nothing too amazing since they were limited as far as content, and there's gonna be a new full adaptation for part 3 so now they're pretty much obsolete. JoJo 2012 was utterly fantastic though, a really fresh adaptation of the manga and it portrayed parts 1 and 2 in such a brilliant way. I saw you started it, what do you think so far? It definitely gets better so look forward to the rest, in particular it really shines from episodes 10-26, which adapt part 2.
Speaking of JoJo, I actually finished catching up to the manga and it's such a brilliant series. It's a strange thing because even though I can't point to a single part and say "That's definitely a 10/10 manga", I'd say the whole package is just too brilliant for me not to rate it a 10. It's a case where it's gone on for so long and kept such a compelling story throughout that I can't help but love it. It's amazing how everything ties together and it chronicles such a long journey with a huge set of characters, never failing to make the characters of the next part as endearing as the last. I have so much love for this series and if you want a fantastic action Shounen, this is one of the only ones I could say I would esteem around as highly as FMA. I'm not sure if I love it quite that much, but they're on the same tier and if I've gotten anything from my JoJo run over winter break, it's that JoJo truly is an amazing story as a whole.
I watched the Steins;Gate movie as well and that was a brilliant follow-up to the anime, not quite as good as the series and I do wish it did a little bit more but it was a glorious watch either way. I also watched a couple magical girl-esque stories recently too, I finished Fate/kaleid liner Prisma☆Illya and Genei wo Kakeru Taiyou. Fate/kaleid I watched mainly because it was a spinoff to the Fate series and it was great seeing some of the characters I knew in a different setting. Apparently they're making a second season for it so I'm looking forward to that. Genei wo Kakeru Taiyou was a really dark series, at some points it felt like they were trying too hard to make it a grim, brutal series, but I enjoyed it all in all. A pretty good watch but not a particularly amazing series. More than anything though, I really love the opening song for it. LiSA songs are always fantastic for me and this one was just as good as the rest, one of these days I'll probably have to update my favorite opening list. Everything else has been ongoings, mostly from the fall season but also Monogatari S2, which I found to be the best anime of the year and a brilliant installment of that series. I noticed you already saw my post about the fall anime though so you have an idea of what I think about those series. It's been a good season and I'm looking forward to the ones that will carry over to next season.
Well I've steadily been getting a better understanding of calculus, though I'm still not entirely sure about it all. I'm taking more of it next semester so hopefully I'll be able to manage lol. Yeah, computers has been pitiful and it makes me sad I have to take another semester of it. Nothing learned in that class and nobody takes it seriously, guess I'll have to resort to my supply of light novels on my flash drive again for company. AP stands for Advanced Placement, basically it's a more rigorous course with a faster pace with an exam around the end of the year. Depending on the score received on that exam, a student may be able to get college credit for a particular course since passing the test equates to succeeding in a college-level course for that subject. Lots of hard work and assignments involved but I'm hoping it'll all be worth it, at the very least it'll look good on the college apps. Poetry, well sometimes I'm fine with it but during the time when my teacher constantly assigned us poetry work and questions it was a really frustrating task. Poetry was not my friend back then, that's for sure lol.
Lol if you have the time you should definitely start giving FMA a read. Hopefully you'll enjoy it as I did. You don't have to get to Bleach for a while if at all really, if anything I imagine you could get most of that enjoyment from Yu Yu Hakusho. YYH isn't a perfect Shounen but it's a load of fun and the classic version of Bleach in a way. Less swordfighting and whatnot but I felt it was a more enjoyable experience.
To be honest it's been years since I've read that book, but I liked it xD I really like books, my second love <3 (first one would be comics :D)
That is good question. At first I thought it was the real Yoh, but Hao said he made an exact replica of young Yoh http://mangafox.me/manga/shaman_king_flowers/v03/c018/6.html
I so agree with you(and I don't mind the word xD I used it from time to time xD) I trust that Takei will do great job ^^ To be honest I didn't think I would like SKF so much. I usually tend to dislike sequels that follow different main characters but this manga is one of the rare exceptions ^^
Hahaha how could I forget about Gakko xD He is pretty relaxed xD Btw I hope Hana will have new guardian spirit. Never really liked Amidamaru-Hana combination xD
Random question:Have you watched movie Tenacious D? I watched it when I was younger, and I still like how crazy that movie is xD http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hvvjiE4AdUI http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mXjNATmIruI
My first impression is that was short xD Liked it, but just when it started to get really interesting, chapter ended >w< Looks like Hana is bitter towards Yoh for leaving him when he was kid (which is understandable xD) It was nice to see again Yohs hippie attitude for change XD All of the fighters in skf are serious most of the time xD
xDDD Sorry, I guess I didn't read your previous reply carefully enough xD It's good that you believe in your work, every artist must do that.
Wow no I haven't! :D It's great! ^^ You sir, are great :D
Btw SKF is out :D It's kinda short :( And author said that there will be no SKF next month, instead he will publish new SK zero, reason for that is secret :D
You don't suck ^^ In your first link I like the most your drawings of animals, and from your da account L, Shakugan lineart, Instrumentality project, Arumi and Rin ; are your works that I like the most ^^ You are good ^^
Woah you made this? It looks awesome dude ;D
I must save a lot of money too u/u Gotta pay uni u/u
