Okay, My Top 10 Most Hated Anime… GO!:
(Disclaimer: Not everyone of these are necessarily a 1/10 and anime like “shitcom” and “Boku no Pico” are easy fodder for a list like this and will be exempted for their obvious poor quality and lack content anyway. So, no special and one shots. Only Movies and shows will be considered.)
10.) Naruto Shippuden - The only show here I’d be will to watch again and find some aspects about it to enjoy, but long story short: Shippuden represents most of everything I hate about Naruto. For 500 episodes and not even 10% or the total episodes even being watchable (filler, dumb plot decisions, retcons etc.) you’ve got a poor product for a show I used to love.
9.) Code Geass - The dumbest anime that everyone gives way too much credit to. People are quick to trash on Eva for not making sense but CG is convenient plot point after convenient plot point with a Marty Stu protagonist that everyone thinks is big brained and badass af. Animation (sometimes) and the OP are only reasons it’s not lower.
8.) Charlotte - Boring af and nearly unwatchable. Legit so similar to Angel Beats with exact same characters and just as confusing plot. People only say it’s good bc dude also made mid shows like said Angel Beats and Clannad.
7.) Deadman Wonderland - Edgy the anime. Hardly anything gets resolved and I feel nothing for our characters. Female lead attempts too hard to be the cute dream girl archetype that Eureka was. I’d probably rank it off the list, since it’s been so long since watching it, but I disliked it so much before and it’s even more sad knowing the people who made Eureka Seven made this.
6.) Juden Chan Recharged - SMH… easy target show full of ugly character designs and cringe premise. It’s a fetish show that I thought I could at least laugh at but it wasn’t. It’s just really bad and it’s interesting how many high scores it’s received on MAL with high praise in the top reviews.
5.) Orange - I loved this show when it was airing. Even nearly bawling over certain events, but then the quality took a huge nosedive. Animation got terrible in certain episodes. They killed my enjoyment and think their audience is stupid for the end of the show on how they decide to wrap up the time travel situation too. I got mad af when I was finishing it and I just did it because I didn’t drop shows at the time and felt obligated since I liked it so much in the beginning. Can’t believe I recommended this show while it was airing.
4.) No Game, No Life - Loli, little sister, and NEET bait anime. Garbage show and, like Code Geass, receives way too much praise. Does not need a 2nd season. God awful writing and the art hurts my goddamn eyes dude.
3.) Listen to Me, Girls. I Am Your Father! - I felt so weird watching this. The premise doesn’t make sense and you are suppose to think the relationship is cute… but kind of sexy too?? Idk it’s bad and I couldn’t sit through anymore than what I could. This and the next two were real close gunning for 1st place here.
2.) Elfen Lied - Already wrote a review. It’s bad. Can’t even really watch this show for laughs at this point. It’s just a stupid dumb idiot show.
1.) Redo of Healer - Easy answer. Although I never finished it, I already hate it so much. It’s rape-y and you’re supposed to cheer for that. It’s clearly poor writing and generic af in terms of characters and stories. Has no real explanation that makes sense to the things that happen in here (healer abilities, MC “acting” just to get his vengeance etc.). What makes this number 1 even more easy is what it brings out in its fanbase who collectively can’t go 5mins without someone making a thread calling out “SJWs”, “snowflakes”, and the libs while also making 10 excuses for why the MC is very awesome and very clearly a likable character. It’s a self insert series whose creator came out saying he legit didn’t care and just wrote garbage that he knew people would buy into. Talk about a hollow series.

There may have been a few number of shows that I dozed off to and a few others passively enjoyed in the background, but with such a girthy beefcake of a number as 544 (and counting) a few asterisks are necessary along the rapturous highway journey of a modern samurai. As an urban ronin, I must stress, my time is far more valuable elsewhere with those who have completed at least 50 shows, with high grade substance to them. Now, I’ll take my stride.
