Hi,

I think the interesting part is Rise of MALGraph. They went from simple text rating charts to something like this. The flexibility is awesome and MAL should officially integrate those features into the site. Which is not possible though. Other than that, Cowboy Bebop is great including the soundtrack. :)

Anna... >.<

Lmao, do you really think I would ever even touch an anime like Onii-chan Ai? Honestly, Sunny.

I know, Cuticle sounds so weird. The first episode is already out, too. I haven't seen it yet, though.

Unfortunately, Savanna Game isn't airing this season. It's scheduled for 2013, but not this season. You must've viewed an old chart? I was looking forward to SG, too.

Haha, okay, correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Train Hero basically Thomas the Train in anime? Please tell me you didn't know this and got fooled by the picture. XD

I saw the first episode of BokuTomo when the first season aired and wasn't impressed. It had Accel World written all over it. And Accel World sucked. Why do I still have that on my Watching list, anyways?

I was thinking of watching Yama no Susume too until I saw it was one of those 3 minute episode things. Not interested in that sort of anime.

Steins;Gate was amazing, you should watch it! But...

Death Note is SO much better! I'm so excited you finally started Death Note! I only spent the better part of a year convincing you. Sugoii, deshou? ^_^
The music, the story, the animation, the characters, the suspense, everything about it makes it my all time favorite. You'll have to tell me what you think of Light and L as you get further into it. I want to know which one you like better. People always swing one way or the other with those two. I'll wait to tell you my opinions on them and the show, although I'm sure I already went all-out in the past. I always do when talking about Death Note. Keep me updated on how it's going, even if the comments pile up since I have stuff going on this weekend. I don't mind double posts. Death Note is the kind of show where after every episode you want to go tell someone about amazing moment XYZ. ;)

Oh, one more thing, don't look up ANYTHING about Death Note until you finish it. Spoilers. Spoilers everywhere. Especially on Youtube and Google's instant search. If you type in something it might try to "help" you find something and spoil you in the process. No DN searches for Sunny! Yakusoku?

Hey, did you hear Kuroko is getting a second season? I'm so pumped about that! I can't wait until it airs, seriously. A friend of mine also told me they think it might end up like Major (another sports anime) with a lot of consecutive seasons. That'd be awesome - it'd be like my new Bakuman. Did you ever watch Bakuman? It was made by the same people that made Death Note. It's a lot different but you can tell they were made by the same people if you really look for it. They also reference a lot of other anime/manga in Bakuman since the show is about making a manga. The third season is currently airing right now and I'm already counting on a season four announcement after this one ends.

Are you still in that anime club?

That's all for now. I'm so incredibly hungry right now. T_T
I don't even know why. I had a sandwich after I got off work. It must be the lack of dessert, Sunny. You know how I (or we, I should say, haha) love our sweets. I think a bit of baking is in order tomorrow. <3
Iilia Jan 4, 2013 9:17 PM
No, I wasn't paying much attention to Anna, lol.

noitanimA would be such an awesome company if they could just avoid making such cliche shows every now and then. They're still a good company, nonetheless.

HMMM, is Onii-chan Dakedo that sketchy one you mentioned? Haha!

Here's what I'm considering for winter:

- Ore no Kanojo to Osananajimi ga Shuraba Sugiru - Has potential, but if it turns out to be ecchi I'm dropping it like a rock. A-1 Pictures is pretty good. The voicing cast is kind of new to me.
- Sasami-san Ganbaranai - Shaft's shows are always a hit or a miss. For instance, if this turns into something with incest, it's going out the window. :P
- Amnesia - It's Brains Base! It's a romance-shoujo! And it's got bishounens!
- Chihayafuru 2 - Been waiting for this one to come out, so it's a given I'll watch it.
- Cuticle Tantei Inaba - This sounds so stupid it makes me want to try it. The cross-dressing assistant makes me cringe. The fact that it's admittedly an episodic show also worries me.
- Maoyuu Maou Yuusha - Sounds interesting. I like Sawashiro Miyuki and Jun Fukuyama's voicing acting too, so that's a plus.

There really isn't that great a selection. I didn't pick up everything I wanted to in the fall and completely missed the summer, so I'm sure that will keep me busy. There's also some good two cour shows like Robotics;Notes continuing on into winter. You watched Steins;Gate, didn't you? You should watch R;N!

What are you watching this winter? Almost all of mine are maybes, by the way. :P

Belated Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you, too! I like the Kuroko picture! ^_^
Iilia Dec 4, 2012 8:17 PM
"Love puff, fluff fluff" spell? Older sister named Eve? I'm totally lost, lol. Was that in S2? And I'm still not a fan of cubic. :P

Yeah, noitanimA has done a lot of titles you've seen/heard of. Shiki, Kuragehime, Nodame Cantabile, Hourou Musuko, [C], AnoHana, Usagi Drop, Guilty Crown, Sakamichi no Apollon, and Natsuyuki Rendezvous to name a few. They usually do out of the ordinary productions, josei genre, and seem to be fond of the soft water color animation. Their anime block consists of two shows every season and they're always given 11 episodes. Unless it runs for two cour, in which case it's 22 episodes. Both the shows they're running this season, Psycho Pass and Robotics Notes, are scheduled to be 22 episodes long.

I haven't seen R;N yet, but Psycho Pass has been really good so far. I torrented 3 episodes the other night, fully intending to give it a 3 episode trial and then go to bed, while in reality I stayed up a lot later and watched all 8 episodes that are out. ^_^;;
Be warned, though. It is rather graphic.

Oh, and about taking up [C] and Guilty Crown... let me save you some trouble. Don't. Just don't.

"...but I know guys like Chi for her Moe and curious personality." Yeah. Oh well. She does have her merits. :/
I think Oreki owes a great deal of his deductions being climactic due to the music. That music was awesome.

Nee, Sunny, you need to watch more anime if even I with my limited free time has more on my history right now! Or have you fallen into the evil ways of not updating your list? :P
Iilia Nov 14, 2012 12:50 PM
Eve? Is that a character I haven't come across yet in Phi Brain 2? It doesn't sound familiar. Ahaha, so you're a Gammon and Nonoha shipper, eh? I like Nonoha and Kaito, but I guess I've always been one to go with what's obvious for a couple.

Which particular scene with Q-chan are you talking about?

noitanimA goes up and down for me. They do something amazing like Kuragehime then something bland like [C]. They do something unique like Usagi Drop and then they do Guilty Crown. How can they go from amazing to generic so quickly? I'm thinking Natsuyuki will be up my ally, though. I hope so.

I did like the Valentine episode due to the character interactions. With shows like Hyouka for me it is all about how the characters interact with each other more than the mysteries. In order of favorite characters for me it would go Oreki, Mayaka, Satoshi, and Chitanda in last. Chitanda is cute but a bit too much moe for me. Oreki is without a doubt my favorite, in no small part due to Nakamura Yuuichi's voice acting. Mayaka and Satoshi I both liked for the same reason: The realism of their characters. They were both easily relatable. Oreki and Chitanda didn't have that, but I loved Oreki's surreal side while guys will love Chitanda's. Gender bias on my part, most definitely. :P

I look forward to your impressions of Kuroko! If you're enjoying Area no Kishi despite all it's flaws I know you'll love Kuroko. :)
Iilia Nov 1, 2012 3:35 PM
Beg to differ, do you? Kininarimasu!:P

Ana... ugh... I don't even. That is not a guy. It just can't be, haha. And a third season? Really? What, are they making this long-running now? I think the show is just too simple and straight-forward for me. The mysteries aren't ones that the viewer can solve along with the characters most of the time, and that bugs me. I just get to sit back and watch Kaito use his amazing deduction skills do everything. He might as well have super powers. While you could argue Hyouka had some of the same elements, it was put together so much better than Phi Brain ever was.

Kamiya, yes! Kamiya Hiroshi! He's one of my favorite VA's. ^_^

I remember noitanimA having trouble with ending anime properly since they're typically only 11 episodes long. Did Natsuyuki have this problem, or no?

Hyouka

I'm glad you're willing to give Kuroko a try! It's a good watch and a thousand times better than Area no Kishi. I'm pretty far into that one and it was never that interesting. You can just tell the budget for the production was/is so much lower than Kuroko's. Production value aside, the story itself just really isn't that compelling for me. There's no heart-pounding plays or characters I can get attached to. At this point I have not decided if I'll drop it but like Phi Brain it's not very high on the priorities list.

Iilia Oct 25, 2012 11:58 AM
Well hey, I'd say kidnapping is a step down from murder. And watching anime after being kidnapped is hardly a punishment. I'm working on catching up as we speak. ;)

Bleh, so Phi Brain really did have the same structure, eh? I'll put it on the bottom portion of my priorities list, haha. Kamiya-san has to make up for some of it though, right? But if I'm watching for Kamiya I think I'll finish Shining Hearts before Phi Brain. :P
How was the conclusion? Was it good or were there things left on answered? Delivery is everything with endings! And was there any romance for Kaito or the others?

Focus on a topic, eh? Every since when were we structured with our talks of sunfish-chip-thingies and the like! XD

All right, all right, a giant gummy bear with a chocolate bow tie it is. Although how you dreamed up such an interesting combination of flavors is beyond me!

How was Natsuyuki Rendezvous? I was looking forward to that one when I saw it was announced as it's a josei by noitanimA.

And how is Sword Art Online so far? I'm fairly certain I'll end up giving it a try, but I'd like to hear your impressions on it just the same.

Lastly, I'm currently catching up on Hyouka.

Oh. My. Gosh. I just checked your list and you haven't seen Kuroko no Basket! You have to explain the reason for passing up such an amazing anime! Have you ever seen a sports anime before? I really enjoyed this one. Although I suppose that might be a bit obvious since my profile picture and list background are featuring one of the main characters, the picture in my About Me has more of them, and then the video is of the OP/ED. :P
Iilia Oct 19, 2012 11:57 PM
Sunny! I haven't been online since forever, I know! I'm horrible. I think I owe you a lot of sweets in return for this comment's lateness, do I not? Go ahead and name your pastries. XD

My internet got really slow for a while there and was pretty much nonfunctional. After that I just never got around to coming back to MAL or watching anime, so in the end it's still my fault. Never thought I could live without anime for so long, did ya? :P
The withdrawals only left minor scarring, don't worry.

I'm back for now. Sort of. Or I'm trying to be, anyways. I think the few close friends I have on here such as yourself would have to get together and plan my murder if I came back for a few days only disappear for an extended period of time once more.

Without spoilers, how did Phi Brain S2 turn out? With all the anime catch-up I have to do I'm considering dropping that one in favor of finishing and starting others. The first season never impressed me much and I only picked up the second in hopes for minor improvements as well as its seiyuu cast. Kamiya-chan~ *Squeeee*

So in your last and now very dated comment you mentioned you were 21 and don't drive. Are you still in that situation? 'Cause I just turned 22 and I don't have a license either. Half the world thinks I'm pretty much crazy. And they'd be right. Knowing there are a few other people my age without a license makes me feel a bit better. There are a couple others I've known through work and such that don't have a car/license, of course, but it's always nice to meet more. I'm considering getting mine soon, though. (Considering for me can take quite a while, by the way) It would just be nice to have that extra bit of freedom, and it's not like I spend my money on other frivolous things or costly bad habits, so even though I don't earn a whole lot I could still make it work.

Hope you're doing well! I missed talking to you!

hey whats up man ?
Iilia Mar 14, 2012 6:58 PM
Mirai Nikki - Yukiteru doesn't irritate as much as other protagonists for some reason. Maybe it's because the rest of the cast makes up for it? Maybe it's because his cowardice is so exaggerated it's incredible? I don't know.
Episode 20 & 21 spoilers:

So far Another has lived up to everything I've expected it to be. I just hope the ending isn't really lame or anything. My experience with horror stories is that once things are explained they seem really cheesy. Although, even if the ending does suck, some of the stuff they've had in this show is awesome all by itself.

Err, Area no Kishi isn't the show with aliens. That's Ano Natsu de Matteru. Sorry for the confusion. ^_^;;

You haven't seen a sports anime before?! Go watch Ookiku Furikabutte or Cross Game! Those were my first two sports anime and I loved them both, watching one right after the other - CG being the first and Oofuri being the second. Area no Kishi is a sad representative of the genre for your first one. :P

A lot of guys have turned away from Brave 10 because of the underlying shounen-ai vibes with a character they release later on. It's definitely not shounen-ai, though. (Well duh, otherwise I wouldn't watch it) And there's as much fanservice for guys *Points at Ana's character and the adorable Isanami* as any kind of shounen-ai or bishounen appeal there is for the girls. I guess it balances out in a way. The story is still very simple at this point, but it's also enjoyable.

Speaking of simple and enjoyable, have we ever talked about Hunter X Hunter? Sometimes it's hard for me to keep track of what airing shows I've talked about with people... :/
If I haven't said so before, Hunter X Hunter is awesome and it's definitely worth a look.

Lmao@your reaction to Inu X Boku! I'm surprised you gave it a try. Kudoes to you! Have you gotten any further into it? You really need to keep your list updated. :P

I've been great! Surprisingly. *Cue internet gloom*
*cough* ...That's was a joke. I'm not glum. Seriously.

*Big stupid smile* :D

I've been "trying" to think of something to go to college for. And by trying I mean thinking about it but in essence really not doing much. I mean, everyone keeps telling to just go and figure it out on the way, but I've never been the sort of person to jump in and make things up as I go along. I like plans. And if I don't know where I'm heading I feel lost and insecure. Thus I want to figure out what to go to college for beforehand, then waste use all my money on it. It doesn't help matters that everything I'd be interested in is something that's not particularly profitable, either. *Sighs*

And speaking of money problems, I'm pretty sure I've managed to get myself a cavity. ME. A CAVITY. This is just blatantly unfair. I brush my teeth after I eat freaking anything. A-N-Y-T-H-I-N-G! And yet I have a cavity. Why? :(
Okay, so I don't floss. Big deal. My incredible teeth brushing powers surely make up for that.
Surely.
And I was using mouth wash and stuff, too! I'm so awesome about my teeth, right? Of couse I am. Yet I have a cavity. Or maybe I don't and I'm just freaking out over nothing? I have to schedule an appointment with my orthodonist tomorrow for a check-up (9 months without braces and you still get check-ups.. srsly), so that's all covered under my previous bill. I think I'll ask him to check and make sure it's a cavity. I don't have any kind of dental insurance so I don't want to waste 2 weeks pay getting rid of a non-existant cavity at the dentist's office.

...Holy crap that is a long rant over nothing. I didn't even have caffeine! :o

Ah, and sorry I'm always so slow with replies.
Moimy Feb 28, 2012 1:08 AM
Are you the Massey Anime Club President?
Iilia Jan 31, 2012 6:13 PM
Sure, I'd love to see your videos/pictures from India! Let me know when you have them up. And you have new drawings to put up, too? Go for it! :)
I don't have the greatest photography skills either. I used to look at different sorts of styles on the internet for ideas. I don't do that so much anymore, though. Anyways, I think doing that helped me improve the pictures I did take.

Bakuman!? You're reading and not watching it?! :o
Do you plan to watch it at all? I adore the show! A season three got announced a while back scheduled for fall of 2012. More Bakuman is always a good thing - and I mean always. Would it be incredibly selfish of me to already have my fingers crossed for a season four? Or even a complete adaption?

Uzumaki. I read the description and it sounds pretty cool. I haven't seen many horror anime. However, there is one airing this season. It's called "Another." Pretty good so far; it was one of the ones I was looking forward to. If you plan to watch it, keep at it until episode three. I was disappointed with the first two episodes when they aired (I thought they were slow), but the third one was awesome.

I'm gonna go over some stuff from last season since you've finished most of what you were watching. I wasn't really present for last season. Yeah, I finished almost everything (I dropped Ben-To), but I didn't really watch anything weekly like I've done in the past. I played catch-up in the last 2-3 weeks, haha.

Maji de - You rated it a 5, wow. I guess I made the right call in dropping this one. I saw the first episode, that's it. I didn't think it'd be worth continuing, and my schedule already being full I didn't want to waste time on it. How bad was it? XD

BokuTomo - This one got a 6 from you. Not much better, eh? I saw the first episode of this as well. The stunning animation wasn't enough to make me sit through yet another harem, so I dropped it. What did you think of it?

Oh, by the way, I sometimes watch the first episode of a show like BokuTomo and MajiDe but don't add it to my list since I see it as wasted space. It's my way of giving a show I'd normally dismiss as anything but utter mediocrity a chance.

Persona 4 - Ahaha, I seriously need to catch up with this show! Actually, we both do! What's even more funny is we're about at the same spot (you're an episode ahead of me, I believe) and we've both rated it a 6. You generally rate things higher than I do though, right? Persona's just so boring I can't get motivated to catch up. Last thing I remember happening was each of the main characters were getting their Persona's and dealing with their inner demons. Yeeaaaaahhh, because we've never seen this done before. /falls asleep

Phi Brain - This isn't as good as I originally thought it would be. The later episodes now have been better, at least. And did you hear that a season two was announced? I think it's going to air right when the current one ends. Let's hope it picks up the pace a bit!

Un-Go - I don't quite remember if I voiced my opinion of this show to you a long while back. I didn't much like it at first since the mysteries weren't that hard to solve, but after the half way point it got pretty good. I suppose the idea of Shinjuurou X Rie also helped me enjoy the show more, even it was probably 75% fantasy on my part. XD

Now let's do all the currently airing stuff, or at least as much of it as I've seen so far. It doesn't look like you've started anything yet. And here I thought I was behind with things. :P

Ano Natsu de Matteru - Slice of life. Aliens. That's this show in a nutshell. It's kinda got some ecchi elements in it, but they're not overwhelming. Otherwise I wouldn't watch it, lol. Romance is another key factor in here, so if you're interested in watching something that's high school/slice of life with aliens, romance, and a bits of fanservice, this is for you.

Another - Already covered this one. Horror/Suspense/Supernatural top pick of the season.

Area no Kishi - Sports anime! Haven't had one of these in a while. Now before you go and get your hopes up, be forewarned that this one is for kids. Or at least the presentation makes it seem that way. It's very typical with its plot progression thus far, and all the characters, specifically the protagonist and osananajimi (childhood friend), are cardboard cuts of every other anime out there.

Brave 10 - This one is also pretty typical in the sense that it's a lot like every other shounen out there. But it's short (12 episodes) and a new shounen with new characters that isn't called Bleach or Naruto is definitely welcome to me! Besides, Isanami, the female lead, is so adorable you can't help but love her. The action isn't bad at all, either.

Danshi Koukousei no Nichjijou - "Typical" High school anime about "typical" high school boys doing "typical" things. I put those in quotations because it's really not that typical at all. Basically, they take all the common things you see in anime and make fun of it. You'll see what I mean in the first five minutes of the first episode. I actually laughed out loud watching the final skit in episode one, and I hardly ever laugh at jokes in anime! Comedy = successful!

Inu X Boku SS - Ever seen Special A? Kaichou wa Maid-sama? Maybe Lovely Complex? Inu X Boku SS is like all of those shoujo anime. So being a girl I'm going to pretend that this isn't at all cliche with its haughty lead female pushing away the attention of our dashing Secret Service agent (voiced by none other than Nakamura Yuuichi), and shamelessly award this show a 7 because I just like gushy, unrealistic romances every once in a while. ^_^;;

I think that's pretty much it for what I've seen so far. I've got a few others that I'm going to watch/check out. Rinne no Lagrange, Senki Zesshou, Nisemonogatari, etc.
It’s time to ditch the text file.
