Show my rating system:
The numbers in tags are adjusted into being links themselves, so if you click on a number in a tag, it will show every series I've assigned that number. The +s imply the show was close to the number above it, and the -s imply the show was close to the number below it.
For example: A show with a 7+ in the tag implies it was close to getting an 8, while a show with a 7- in the tag implies it was close to getting a 6.
10/10 Masterpiece tier: Best of the Best. It's less no flaws whatsoever and more that they do such a great job of convincing you that they're exemplary in their craft I end up loving them regardless. Your landmark view of what anime can achieve in its particular forte.
In grade terms this would be an A+
9/10 Amazing series: Nearly perfect. Above and beyond with its intention, excelled in areas you wouldn't even think could be done that well. Feels like more than just another show, one that left an honest impact to me as a person, in its goal to stand out. Grabbed me by the hand and never looked back in a quest for glory.
In grade terms, this would be an A
8/10 Great series: Some flaws that keep it from being amazing, but the show is really special when it does something right. 8s are shows that while not always phenomenal, hit this REALLY special soft spot that won't let me forget them. Almost consistently engaging, these are the start of shows that really resonated with me, with proper time to develop their ideas and compelling follow-through.
In grade terms, this would be an A- or B+
7/10 Good series: Mostly really good, but the flaws at this point go from minor gripes to elements that are actively intrusive to enjoyability and recommending. I do still have plenty of respect for these shows since what they do well they do really well, but it comes with an asterisk.
In grade terms, this would be a B
6/10 Okay series: A show that had potential or pretty good ideas but didn't follow through on them fully, while not botching them all together. Could be a series without much ambition with one idea going better than expected. Maybe had top of the line animation but a mediocre plot. More good than bad and had something to edge it ahead of the curve from other series. A title I enjoyed watching and didn't actively waste my time, but I don't have interest in seeing again or didn't leave too much an impression.
In grade terms, this would be a B- or C+
5/10 Meh series: An anime that exists. A mixed bag that likely doesn't try hard, not warranting of high praise nor bitter hatred. Shows in this category are often "harmless" or having little to offer besides being "time passers", so in turn I'm largely indifferent to their achievements or failures. Mehdiocre really.
In grade terms this would be a C.
4/10 Mediocre series: At this point I take active scrutiny to the series. Many mistakes were made along the way to make this a rough experience. Erroneous missed potential, but they can't save it or make it recommendable, so much as cushion wounds from what's often dismal writing. Is the first rating where something has left me with a feeling of anger or discontent.
In grade terms this would be a C- or D+
3/10 Bad series: Very flawed and pretty darn terrible. Trainwreck through and through with only bare positives. VERY misused potential. I suppose it COULD be worse, but I still went out hating the experience.
In grade terms this would be a D
2/10 Awful series: Don't ever watch this. Fails in nearly every way possible and the show feels like it's punishing you while watching it instead of being entertainment, even for what short trickles of hope there may be.
In grade terms, this would be a D- or F+.
1/10 Sh*t beyond Sh*t: The worst of the worst. You'd have to actively try to fail this bad. A ridiculous achievement in incompetence and non-effort. No redeeming value, no likability, no substance, no ANYTHING. Some of the worst scenes in anime are in these shows. In grade terms this would be an F.

Dude, I would legit buy a PS6 or whatever system it's on just to play KH4.
The Xehanort is finally over, and the hype around uncovering the Master of Masters, especially after the insane Xigbar/Luxu reveal, is pretty much what's keeping me going as we wait for more details.
When Nomura hits, he hits damn hard. I know a lot of people are hyped around getting some Star Wars world, but Moana and Coco would be fantastic additions. The music in Coco is just gorgeous.
My only fear is having them get the Frozen treatment--where it's just Frozen 2.0 with Sora and Co. as extras in the background instead of actually incorporating them as a part of the plot.
I've sadly long since given up on Kairi. Though getting to play her in Re:Mind was pretty sick, no joke.
Yeah, there's a better chance of films not wasting my time; there's more quality control there, given the bigger financial investment towards its success and the fact that it's mainly made by people who seek out inspiration rather than gawking that the medium they're working in with a reactionary mindset.
A job will do that lol
And yea, Re:Zero is emblematic of that problem as a whole. Anime creators forgot to touch grass every now and then. And with people like Miyazaki and Oshii being an older, dying breed, newer, more inspired acts can't pop up fast enough. I'm sure there will be some better talent in the future, but I'm not sticking around on a sinking ship until they arrive. I'll circle back around when they figure it out.
Oh don't worry, I went ahead and watched the original movie (though I realized I might've watched it before a long time ago) prior to watching the anime ONA. It was quite fun if you haven't checked my activity on AniList yet.
Btw, it was a bit late but I did manage to watch the first SpiderVerse movie and it was easily one of the best things I've ever watched outside anime personally so far.
Hello! I recently started watching FMA and noticed it's on your favorites list. So far it's amazing! I'm not used to shounen humor, but it's a small price for the story and characters. Also it gets gradually darker.

HG&SS, MM, WW, and especially KH2:FM.
Been wanting to try Bayonetta for the longest time. And I recently started Nier:Automata and really like it.
What are your thoughts on KH4? Nomura just gave us the reveal trailer then disappeared, smh.
Cough.
That's all I wanted to say.
