my ratings are fairly skewed toward the top end because i tend to not finish shows that i think are shitty. also, i rate almost purely based on how much fun i have with a show. "objective" things are taken into account in the sense that those things might effect the amount of fun i have with the show, but if i have a lot of fun with something that's "objectively" a total piece of shit (bloodivores), i'm going to rate it somewhat highly.

also, i've made it a habit to start indiscriminately checking out all non-short shows (that also aren't sequels to something i haven't seen) in every current season, which results in me having a pretty large number of dropped shows. i do this because the best way of knowing whether or not you'll like something is by just trying a bit of it yourself. reading a plot synopsis or basing your decision to check something out on art or something is for PUSSIES.
