Its darkness. You 1st of all think of it as a childish magical girl, but then you understand it's not. I won't say the story is that much original & I can understand that some don't like it, but I do really love how they destroy the magical girl illusion, telling truths you would have never want to hear about, but still real. Not to spoil, you'll start to understand what I'm talking about at the end of episode 3 !
I would say it's an anime about the power of human feelings & wishes.
I liked Gintama. I decided to give it a chance, but I don't like long shows. Gintama is currently 180+ episodes and still going. It's far too long for me to watch. I can't stand long shows such as Bleach and One Piece. Not because they're ugly, but because I have and know my limits.
The only long things I could watch were the shows that I started watching when they started airing (for instance FMA:Brotherhood), but catching up a vast number of episodes is almost impossible for me. I find better when watching seasonal shows, because I have a pace (1 ep per week for every anime). I don't watch more than 1-2 completed anime in the meantime, because I can't follow a schedule.
Thank you for your appreciation. I see you're a big fan of Asano Inio, and I'm just glad of it. He needs much more love. If I can, I would like to recommend you to resume Natsume Yuujinchou. I know it doesn't really look so great, but the second season is just AMAZING.

It's good to see there are people with similar taste to mine.
