Demon Slayer is arguably the worst modern shounen I'm afraid. All it is is a grossly oversimplified Bleach ripoff that's carried by sakuga. And despite being carried by animation, there's still hardly any visual artistry and directional finesse in it like you see with Bleach TYBW or even JJK.

In my experience, it may not be the best place to meet new people, but it is definitely not the worst. There are a lot of mean people, right. But there are two types.

Some people are mean because they'd rather act mean than show their true feelings. They opened their hearts. They got hurt. Believe it or not, they are more likely to become addicted to anime than baseball or K-Pop. When they watch an anime, they just watch it. When they finish watching an anime, they just let it go.

Others are mean not because it's in their interest, but because it's in their nature. For them, being mean is their default. For them, anime is just not spicy enough.
