Ooooh, you were in the "is anime political" thread. I can definitely agree with your sentiment that, at least in the US, it devolved into a competition betwee blue and red team, with no nuance allowed. Sadly it's being slowly exported here in Europe ;_;
I recently realized that the only way to fix that is to listen to the other side to an extent. People don't listen to each others, and they don't even listen to themselves, which allows them to say the most hateful things without ever questioning themselves.
I think the problem with MAGAts is the same than it is here with people massively voting far right in the countryside. Those rural regions have been absolutely ignored by the trad left and trad right for decades because ~70% voters are in cities. They lost public services, they lost jobs, they're taxed more and more on transportation but they have to drive 50 kms to work or to see a doctor, public education in these areas has been pretty much sacrificed, etc... Yes they're being manipulated, yes there's a strong correlation between the lack of education and voting far right, but the question is, should we blame them for being manipulated ad/or uneducated, or should we blame our trad left/right representatives of the 40 last years and shake them until they start putting money into those regions?
