I don't have a lot of PC gaming experience, but am getting deeper into it now. Bought a bunch of games during the Steam summer sale in July...but I've more or less only played Borderlands 2...for 472 hours already! I'm obsessed with it now. haha. I plan on building a high-end custom gaming PC eventually.
LOL. That reminds me of a story. In high school gym class, I was playing badminton with these girls, and the birdie flew on top of the bleachers, which were pushed against the wall. After climbing and retrieving it, I had the great idea to jump off from near the top to try and impress them. I must have fallen 15 or 20 feet...and landed straight on my feet. I immediately fell down, realizing the folly of my endeavor. One of the gym teachers just shook her head at me, as if to say, "Yep...that's what you get for bein' a dummy." I was on crutches for two weeks after that.
Just keep an eye on the Sentai Filmworks online store if you're willing to wait for another sale.
I've barely watched anime lately since I've been gaming so much. When I watched HXH 2011 the first time (that's another I've seen both the sub and dub), I binged it in two weeks. One of my friends claims to have watched all 148 episodes in three days. The 1999 anime is worth watching as well.
My brother claims to hate anime, but has watched many with me. (All the way through.) His favorite anime is School Rumble (the funniest anime I've seen) and his favorite anime character is Excalibur from Soul Eater.
Oh, I heard of a few exploits, but they seemed pretty scummy, so I didn't bother. I only cheat under certain circumstances. lol. Ever used a PS1? Back in the day I used a GameShark Pro to manipulate games' programming (with lots of trial and error) and create my own cheat codes. I could even make characters fly! (When they normally couldn't.)
Ah, so I presume you watched sub, then dub like I did. :D
Yesss. Cell vs Gohan was so dramatic. Did you see the original FUNimation dub with the Bruce Faulconer soundtrack? That transformed the anime and made it come to life. The newer versions aren't nearly as emotional, in my opinion.
Ha. The same thing happened to me. When I was a teenager (I'm 32, for reference), DBZ got me pumped up. I used to do 500 pushups, 500 situps, dumbbells, running, etc. every day, as well as frequent wrestling practice.
That Higurashi Blu-ray box set is $85 (or more) now. I got it on sale for $35. I just noticed you haven't watched past the first season! Oh man. Kai is phenomenal. (Then there's Rei, Kira, Kaku, some specials, and the loosely related series Umineko.)
I also just noticed you saw Rosario + Vampire. If there was a faithful adaptation of the manga, it would have been my #1 anime of all time. It's insane how much was removed for the anime...including most of the plot and many of the characters.
I'm impatient for season two of The Promised Neverland. Anime of the year for me.
By the way, the Madoka Magica movie trilogy is a must-watch! I prefer dub for the movies and sub for the series.
Cool merch. Better not abuse that Death Note!
Holy Fazoli's...you even have Mewtwo! My brother and I are actually (slowly) watching the first Pokemon anime together. A week or three ago, when I came home from McDonald's, he ambushed me, grabbing my food, playing the Team Rocket theme and proclaiming, "Prepare for trouble. Make it McDouble." XD
It's interesting that you recently saw Dragon Ball Super. Just yesterday I finished rewatching it. I saw the sub when it came out, then kept up with the dubbed episodes as well. (The last episode of the English version just came out.) I like DBZ a lot more than Super, anyway. It's what got me deeper into anime in the early 2000s.
Oh, you're into HXH too. Check out my merch!
