I watched Guilstein, and I really enjoyed it. I was surprised how much I liked it; it reminded me of Betterman in a way.

Have you seen Zaion? That's another OVA in this subgenre of fooling around with monsters in a near-futuristic setting. It has power suits too!

Do you happen to have the OST for Prayers? I liked the songs that play in the battle scenes. If you like that sort of thing, you may want to watch Macross Plus -- it's got excellent atmosphere, light surrealism, and the final battle is similar to those music duel scenes in Prayers.

I surprisingly enjoyed Divergence Eve, despite the character designs. I partly enjoyed it so much because it's basically a redo of Webdiver but with anime girls instead of robots and the original second half plot intact, so it's pretty neat seeing what could have been and deducing Webdiver's intended plot (Kento would have heroically sacrificed himself to save his friends, and Aoi's grandfather would have been working with Deletoss to attain immortality). I also really liked the final villain; he's basically a cooler Rau le Creuset. Bounty Dog looks neat, so I'll watch that.

Gilgamesh looks cool. Hopefully the manga gets translated. Does Gandalla have subs? It looks like a post-apocalyptic Macross 7, so it sounds pretty interesting.

Dancouga Nova is really cool. It has an AMAZING final battle and lots of great vehicles -- especially the component robots, the D-Poseidon, and R-Daigun. My only complaint is that Aoi didn't race more; I'd love to have a mecha anime with lots of races on the side!

I've seen 6 Angels. I thought it was pretty bad, even though there were some cool vehicles. I have a bunch of lineart for the 6 Angels vehicles on my hard drive. I've heard of Prayers, but I haven't seen it due to lack of subs.

Do you have any other recs for this type of anime -- weird, experimental concepts from the late 90s/2000s? They're always so cool. I'd prefer it have sci-fi and especially futuristic vehicle elements; those things are the coolest.

Yeah, Kobayashi is a good designer, and I really liked those cars in Sin. His work in Gundam and Yamato is also good; I like the ZZ, and the Solomon Express designs/story are neat.

One of the things that's neat about Ordian is how it combines real robots and super robots convincingly and coolly, like how the smaller robot can go inside the big super robot. Also Dancouga Nova had some robots from Ordian as disposable MOTWs in one episode.

Is your 10/10 rating for Gundress unironic? Also, I like your favourites list -- Virus Buster Serge, Ice, and Sin: The Movie are all pretty good, and it's also cool that you've seen Ordian (though I won't finish it until there are proper subs for the rest of the episodes).
