Also are you liking NGE?
SoldierDream Dec 29, 2018 1:16 AM
Oh don't worry, I never expect immediate replies haha. I liked the first 2 episodes of Shou, but not so much the 3rd one, they started including some silly comedy and I don't like that in the SS universe, and I'm not liking much the enemies either. But I'm still optimistic with it, as opposed to the Netflix remake, which I will still watch just to know out of curiosity how much they screwed the legacy and reputation of the series so I can legitimately criticize on that. The CGI looks incredibly cheap, the character designs don't remind me at all the characters, the style and direction seems so "Marvel-ish", and the Shun thing... fuck, this is going to be such a pain to watch.

Thanks for your comments, much appreciated. And I will wish you the same... but when the day comes! haha. Greetings :)

What are your thoughts on Saintia Shou? And the Netflix remake? It's been an important week for us SS fans xD.

Also in line of this I made a review for the original! If you wanna read and check. This community needs to know some truths!! haha.

Just watched the first ep of Saintia Sho and skimmed through the manga to see how rushed it was. Despite so much being cut and shoved into one episode I really liked it and the direction it's going looks awesome. ^_^

O_O It's definitely something. I think it's quite funny they are making Shun a girl because all you'd have to do is call him one and change nothing else about him.

:D! Yay. The ease of getting into Saint Seiya with Saintia Sho is that it's easy to watch as it's currently airing. I'll be sure to try and get her to watch the original too(I've already raved about how good it is to them).

As for me, there is so much Saint Seiya to watch still and so much of it is looking really good. ^_^

Yeah I'm not a fan of it either, and I'm very skeptic towards this remake. When I watched the poster the first thing that crossed my mind was "what??, nope, this is not the Seiya I always knew!". All I saw was a character from a videogame, or a lifeless plastic action figure. It's not the same :( and I'm afraid if this is actually decent and becomes successful, the newer generations will start to mentally associate the Saint Seiya name with this remake rather than the original series and call it better just because of the modern visuals and the removal of fillers, which would be disappointing.

Heey, did you see the new poster of the Netflix remake? What do you think about it?
gfsdfgsdgsdfgs Nov 29, 2018 11:37 AM
Thanks for the detailed reply! I just randomly ran into Saintia Sho earlier today and was surprised by the date it's to air. I'm excited to watch it and my friend may get into Saint Seiya with it, would that be alright? It looks good!

I thought that Saint Seiya: The Hades Chapter Sanctuary - Yomigaerishi Gold Saint-tachi no Shinwa was going to be a retelling entirely from their perspective when I first heard of it, thanks for the heads up, I may still watch it.

Especially with the reveal about the last holy war given in the most recent Hades episode I've watched, I'm really looking forward to Lost Canvas. I'll save Omega until I'm done the rest just to try it out.

Hopefully, an anime will come for Next Dimension! "Kurumada made all these lovely characters that we know but he is not exactly a great mangaka" made me laugh, I suppose that's true if that's the case!

Rei366 recommended I try out the movie "Saint Seiya: Shinku no Shounen Densetsu" so I am thinking I shall watch that and at least try out the other movies too.

Hello! I know the series "Saint Seiya: The Hades Chapter Sanctuary - Yomigaerishi Gold Saint-tachi no Shinwa" is about the perspective of Shura, Saga, and Camus but that's it. I haven't looked into it more than that because of spoilers. Do I watch this after the first part of the Hades arc or do I save it until the end?

Saint Seiya in particular is terribly underwatched in this site (and every other English based one too), it's very disappointing to notice the relatively low levels of awareness and attention it gets in comparison to mostly all of the other major long-running fighting shounens, something I honestly think doesn't make the show any justice when it was as influential for the genre as Dragon Ball was...
