I finished Wano arc aand actually I surprisingly got soooo hooked on this by the end, that I even felt sad then it was over xD after that I wanted to binge something so I chose a classic Hana Yori dango xD and it was quite nice trip (though animation sucked) xD

Now that the winter season is over, I only watched Solo Leveling for now, but as always fights were nice, everything else was okeyish I guess. I think I will just wait Kusuriya no Hitorigoto 2nd Season to finish airing, and watch some other shows after I come back from trip to Japan xD

And do you watch any tv shows? Recently I binged True Blood xD quite entertaining, was a good break from anime xD

The 00s to early 10s era really did have a different kind of energy—shows weren’t just being made to fit seasonal slots, there was more room to breathe, both in terms of pacing and creative risks. Even stuff that wasn’t perfect had this charm to it. You could tell studios were aiming for something more lasting, not just to ride a trend.

Totally agree on the Shoujo and Josei side of things too. It feels like those genres slowly got edged out in favor of stuff that was more marketable to the wider otaku crowd, or safer in terms of return. Chihayafuru S3 ending on that note was painful—especially when the series had built so much momentum over the years. And yeah, MADHOUSE has been through it. They had such a golden age, but the industry just shifted so fast.

Also, your point about FMA 2003 hits. I yet have to watch FMA or FMAB but as far as i know from the reviews and videos

Nowadays, I feel like a lot of shows feel like they’re made to fill slots more than to leave a mark. But yeah—remakes, reboots, and some surprise adaptations (*Frieren* really was lightning in a bottle) are keeping the hope alive. There’s still love in the craft, just… spread a little thinner maybe.

Wow, that’s a really reflective take—love how you traced your anime journey like that. Totally get what you mean about needing cooldown time and how routine can start to feel like a burnout trap if you're not careful. It’s cool that you started with mainstream stuff and then branched out into more niche titles—it kind of mirrors how a lot of us evolve as anime fans.

Your timeline with FMA and Brotherhood sounds super familiar too lol. And I really respect how you see your favorites—not just as shows you enjoyed, but as ones that helped shape or support you mentally. That’s something a lot of people feel but don’t always say out loud. I’ll definitely check out how you’ve laid them out by season on your profile.. pal <3

Yeah it's been rare since Oshiete! Galko-chan I would say xD But yeah I see then definitely memorable for that xD That's the sad part about these adaptations sadly since they know the audience won't be big the staff also can't work optimally on it. Danjo I just don't like the story but yes.

Yup.. also the anime has some Babylon vibes I would say and the release on official streaming sites doesn't seem to have JAP audio with subs as the English audio is the original one I guess?

Yeah xD Well at least it's better than raw Chinese anyway so you can't truly complain in this situation.
Sadly yeah the meta changed too much for this kind of sitcom especially because people need this to have one joke every second or just go enjoy the Minecraft movie instead lol.

Absolutely. But yeah that's basically the issue when they know they can save budget by not doing a passion project/great adaptation since it will still sell well anyway.

That's why Wind Breaker is impossible for you nowadays xD And speaking of that I'm curious about Daima now that I'm starting it but yeah even this one has a original plot I would say. And Donghua fighting is more martial arts than straight fights in most cases I guess.
They definitely tried to add substance and depth to Magic Maker's plot with these "legacy" magical elements but the fighting demon aspect seems a bit to heavy if they give him some struggles that just end up in his favor despite falling into coma lol but I see anyway.
Didn't know that for Witch Watch manga as I thought it wasn't that serious at some point since SKET DANCE's humours wouldn't really allow these kind of elements so I guess it's really a stretch but won't be in the anime (fortunately or not).
Not sure about the Ukraine x Russia thing for the industry but yeah I see that sadly and this kind of censoring is getting close to what we can see in China since the "original" versions of the shows are banned for another version that has these elements removed or censored (AKA white blood and no sexuality) so could also be to please the Chinese audience without having to do a 2nd version just for them...

If Major 2nd is like that it should indeed stop anyway because otherwise stretching it will only do harm to the story :S

Hm yeah and also higher writing quality/art for these series too I guess if it gives them more time for their chapter.

Yes, well I'm starting more shows this season from the start so I won't be able to avoid most of the forgettable ones but I'm still not going for fantasy series on day one xD

Yeah seem fair anyway lol.

I guess it's better than Chainsaw man only receiving a single cour for years XD

Yup... But I would take 100 girlfriends over Witch Watch at any day sadly even if Witch Watch had a good start so far. And I'm just surprised they didn't care more about Kaguya Sama with how much the recent seasons worked on people if they gave it the Spy x Family treatment but yeah Kingdom's fate is sadder anyway since Golden Kamuy they couldn't prevent the staff member to die, obviously. I feel like at this point people would be more hyped for a Soul Eater remake than the Fire Force conclusion.
But yeah sadly that's how it is with this generation, and Railgun's audience isn't the same generation anyway as the majority of the people are the ones who followed it for years especially when the first seasons aired or Index even before.

I guess I should be looking forward to their next anime original project because why not but yeah that's MAPPA reputation now that they picked SnK the first time lol and Lazarus they either don't know about Cowboy Bebop's director or just don't expect anything from him at his style is outdated for the TikTok generation :S But yeah understandable to prefer the Chinese/Korean ones as they keep their style and don't change the villains to please the audience.

Yeah I see... that's the issue when you also don't expect to not have that much answers in the end :S

It explains why people didn't rate Nazotoki wa Dinner no Ato de high so far then... I just hope that Madhouse's audience knows that they do diverse projects at this point especially since it's from a novel from 15 years ago now.

oh escapism? the thinking where people indulge themselves in pleasures to escape from the suffering of the real world? and of course i haven't watch many since i started watching roughly 3 years ago and that also i take small breaks for months to not get bored of it, i do take small breaks from every activity i do so as to not lose interest in it

you've been watching anime from 15 years? damn.. so, which one's are your favorites and least favorites?

Ashhk Apr 6, 4:19 PM
Okay I see well it was definitely packed regarding how they treated all these themes I guess xD Probably won't watch any of this stuff in the end just because I don't have much time but that's great then. Though you're making me very curious to check Honey Lemon Soda EP 11 now xD

Well yes you can't avoid it unless the anime original stuff go full main stream like it could be for Lazarus but not sure now...

The ones fansubbing the Ave Mujica anime in my language stopped at EP 9 it seems so I wait a bit and decide if I continue in English, but yeah that's pretty much it with the sequel being directly announced.
And it's funny when I ask other people if they like Babanbabanban you can see how it doesn't work on them but the score raised to give it justice I guess it's one I have to check eventually anyway xD

Not to mention it wasn't a win at first to have Medalist adapted by ENGI for these skating scenes but it worked so well that it makes you wonder which moment was the best as it's still probably Hikaru's first full representation at the beginning for me but Tsukasa nailed it during his scene, anyway was definitely an awesome experience indeed.

Yeah actually makes sense even though it doesn't work for everyone at this age but that's also why I wish it will be the case for me in a few years as I don't plan to stop watching seasonals of course.
But yeah for Magic Maker that's why it needs a 2nd season I guess. For Babanbabanban I'll watch it along with Witch Watch anyway but I see... Phantom Trigger would have needed 2 cours for you? Anyway for Around 40 Otoko I see, don't know if people expected a harem though since the MC only keep a single woman xD

Yeah...

Okay well from this trio 2 baseball of course but Catenaccio seems to have high potential actually especially being about football :D

But yeah this publication schedule makes it possible to pick more series than you could originally so it works even though a slow monthly pacing for something with only a few pages can sometimes be as frustrating as the ones always on break I assume.

Fable manga for sure xD Yeah sadly it's way too much especially when you want to try as many as possible but that's why I try to avoid these fast food productions anime as much as possible except when it's popular ones of course even when it can be disappointing.

Yeah I see what you mean, well for WSJ you should wait to accumulate chapters for most of the series in this case if it helps with the overall enjoyment...

Sadly... well for this size of cast this is why we could also be worried for 100 girlfriends since it's been just perfect so far but don't know if they can handle it this way in the next seasons though.

Well SAKAMOTO DAYS people expect it to be revolutionary or comparable to Chainsaw Man in a way I guess but it's over now.

I think that it could have worked if the original material was a spin-off about one of the character from the original cast and not a totally new one alternative version so of course people will make comparisons... I think that Railgun is exactly how you make it works when you compared to Index as a spin-off focused on one character, right?

Dunno if we'll get more S2 announcements but hopefully, the issue is that the sequel announcements are usually for ones that were already sequels... but okay for Zenshuu I see at least it was safe but fine, and not just bad xD

If they're really that worried about keeping YowaPeda alive it makes sense sadly... But damn they have to stop with these standalone epilogue episode I mean they should know that it doesn't work...

Sadly that's seinen r*cism in most cases xD If Babanbabanban gets S2 it will also push people to try it in the first place so why not but yeah as far as there's no issue like it was for HOTD which is the most frustrating thing possible even 15 years later sadly :S
