sorry for the trouble ><
that's two bad i really love the manga
Yeah I categorize that as generic contemporary young pop-rock. Fast, consistent beats with energetic vocals.
I liked that song they did for Psycho-Pass, and the album that song was on was alright
Wut... I consider "abnormalize" one of the weaker songs on that album. "Metamorphose" is my favorite. The guitar is so abused. MV is single shot, which is rare for recent videos. Films tends to cut shots at a few seconds each.
Among their PP songs my favorite would be "Enigmatic Feeling".
I wish they release instrumental versions of their songs, but alas.... I can't help but wonder if they could sound even better without vocals.
Finally got around to Kano. Have to admit... I am really only in it for the instrumental melodies. Do you know who's the composer?
Pretty good.
their second album Totem
Ooh it's on bandcamp.
Not quite my taste.
Incidentally,

I guess it's punk rock versions of anime pop songs. Does that make it punk pop?
As for my taste, 凛として時雨 is perhaps my most appropriate example of rock. An eclectic sample of screamo/math/post-hardcore/post-rock/indie/alt/shoegaze/instrumental. Mainly I'm in it for the tone of guitar/drums(/TK's sexy voice :D), but 凛として時雨's catalog has a lot of other qualities I like.
:D
If you're getting into french bands, check out Baton Rouge, Mihai Edrisch (one of the first french screamo bands, still one of the best from that era), Ancre, and Sed Non Satiata.
Any of them with long instrumental segments?
Sounds like you don't listen to much pop-punk.
I've met punk rock before, but that's not exactly the same thing is it.
To me I find solace in the notes and rhythm and texture, not in the lyrics. Something to set a mental pace.
If you want more poppy stuff
Nah not really. My pop taste has narrowed down to artists that sound like supercell's/yanagi nagi's latter works.
I'll start on Kano soon then.
I just love that mood/texture in 黒斑の侵蝕 and 被覆する閉塞. I'm not one who's into vocals at all except for a selective few artists.
Yeah I need to listen to Kano too. That song from Houkago no Pleiades is catchy. The ryo/supercell kind of catchy, pure, innocent pop.
Edit:
Kano avy?
Have you sampled Atheist's Cornea yet?
