~~ Currently (and always will be) obsessed with Koe no Katachi. ~~
Ratings based on what the anime makes me feel, even though I don't like giving grades to them. To me, the quality of an anime can't be measured with grades, but is related to the experience and the feelings it conveys, which can be pretty difficult to explain at times. If it's well done, makes me empathize with the characters and its world, changes my life in a certain way and makes me feel the wonder I experienced as a kid again, then it can be a masterpiece even it has some flaws. You can love something for what it is in spite of its "errors".
As the line between two consecutive grades (8 and 9, 9 and 10...) can be quite blurry at times for me and as I don't like giving grades nor like penalizing a great anime because of subjective preferences, each grade has an uncertainty of +- 1 approximately. That means that, if I give a 9, the anime could also be an 8 or a 10 depending on the case. So if someone wants to recommend me an anime or know what I like, the grades I give are just to give an idea of what I really like and what I don't like so much. I'm here to enjoy anime and I don't care whether my grades don't exactly reflect my preferences (I mean wondering if I should give a 9 or a 10, for instance) or not. The important thing to know is that I will love way more an anime with a 9 or 10 than one with a 7 or a 5.
Normally, shows between 5 and 7 are meh for me. There are some exceptions like Occultic;Nine, which did some things great and had awesome characters, story and art direction, but the rushed execution, great amount of plotholes and other flaws made me put it a 5.
Shows with a grade <=4 are the ones I can't stand at all. I normally don't put much thought into which grade I should give in these cases. An anime with a 1 could be a 3 and viceversa, but I couldn't care less about a show I despise.
