I just recently got interested in anime. I would watch an individual episode of a random series every now and then, but was not really that interested since all the shows I knew were not so great and I mistakenly thought that all anime was like that. I watched Death Note in the beginning of 2009, and it was the first show I watched from beginning to end, but even that was not that good and didn't make me interested in anime in general. A year and a half later I saw a couple episodes of Witchblade and Claymore and those got me interested and I started researching what other good stuff is out there. I found the Kanon remake, and was surprised to find out that I sort of liked that kind of stuff. Soon afer that True Tears got me really hooked in romance stuff and I have not looked back since.
The series I've got on hold are mostly ones I've seen some episodes of and liked them but have not yet purchased them myself.
Things in my "Dropped" section are ones that I initially thought were good enough, but after some number of episodes turned out not to be to my liking. All of them include at least some kind of explanation for why I dropped them in the comments.
If I from the very beginning think that a show is no good and watch a few episodes to make sure it is just not one or two crappy episodes, I don't add it to my list at all. That's why my list does not include everything I've watched since the most crappy ones are left out.
When it comes to scoring, you can read my comments on any anime I've completed or dropped if you want to know how I liked it. I don't want to simplify my opinions into numbers.
