5 is neither good or bad, just mediocre. Anything lower is what I consider bad, anything higher is enough to be considered good. A 10 is not meant to be viewed as something without flaws, but rather that even with its flaws, it doesn't detract from the overall experience and delivers the best experience possible with the story it set out to give.
The ratings next to the number that MAL has is a good indicator of what I think of a series (ex: 5 is Average, 8 is Very Good, 9 is Great, etc.)
That being said, some of the ratings come from when I was younger, if I rewatch or reread something, I will be sure to update my ratings. List is not 100% accurate to everything i've watched because I'm bad at updating this, but for the most part, it's a good indicator.
*no, i'm not a sociopath because Light is my favorite anime character, nor do I agree with all (or most) of his actions. Light's descent into madness that made him an awful person despite how "good" his original intentions were is one of my favorite aspects of his character and Death Note as a whole. You are not meant to agree with Light's actions, and as such, I do not. However, that does not detract from his value as a character to me.
