I don't want to reveal too much about myself, if you think we might have something to talk about - please, send me a friend request. My list and favorites are set to private, but I don't think that if we won't have anything in common, we won't be able to talk. I believe that a good friendship or any kind of relationship is build on a balance of two sides. Usually I find myself attracted to the people that are different from me.
I'd like to share my way of rating anime and and manga. It is pretty simple and the only uncommon thing about it is that I try to stay away from negative scores.
If anime/manga is:
"Completed" without a rating - the anime/manga was interesting enough for me to finish it, but I do not think it deserves a good score. I will most likely not come back to any of the anime/manga in this section; "Completed" with a rating of 8 - I liked it This anime/manga is not mind-blowing but I did enjoy it and I will most likely rewatch it at some point; "Completed" with a rating of 9 - a great anime/manga that I enjoyed a lot. "Completed" with a rating of 10 - my absolute favorite of all time. "Dropped" without a rating - I did not find the anime/manga to be worth spending my time on, but this doesn't necessarily mean that I think it's bad; "Dropped" with a rating of 1 - this goes for any anime/manga that made me angry or depressed in a bad way. I do not recommend it to anyone.
Also I'd like to note that I enjoy and rate hentai, please forgive me if that offends you.
If hentai is:
"Dropped" without a rating - I had some interest in this hentai, but dropped because of various reasons. "Dropped" with a rating of 1 - I try to not act judgmental, but sometimes there's hentai that looks interesting and ends up being "kimochi warui". I do not recommend it to anyone. "Completed" without a rating - usually, this is for any hentai that has at last one interesting scene or fetishes; "Completed" with a rating of 7 - my absolute favorite.
This is a section where I'll tell more about my way of watching anime and reading manga. Maybe there will be something that will be a good tip for you. Please, share your way of watching anime with me!
"Dropped" and "Completed"
We all have lives and things to do; while anime is my main hobby, I do believe that it would be pointless to watch things that I don't find interesting or that are slightly interesting. Usually I give a 12 episode anime 1-3 episodes, 26 episode anime 3-6 episodes and 100+ anime from 5 to 10 episodes - if they don't manage to make me interested in the series, I will not continue watching it.
Our time is a resource and I think it's important to make sure that we enjoy it. There's always something great, whether it's an anime, game, movie, book or a manga. And of course there's always family to love. There is no hobby that is more valuable than family.
Filler
I don't agree with the term "filler". Opening, ending, intro, sexy moments or some silly jokes and yes, "fillers" do have their own purpose, too. It depends on the series, of course but most of the time I find that the so-called "fillers" are great because they make me relaxed for the next story arc or more "serious" moment. The whole point of this calm, all-joke moment is to prepare the viewer for what happens afterwards, to set the mood and to attach them to the characters. So, if an anime is in my "Completed" list, that means I've watched it in all of its entirety.
Always original audio
Japanese seiyuu are amazing. They fit their characters perfectly and they do a great job of making every sound enjoyable. I do not want to say that dubs are bad, they are not and I am glad that people enjoy them. But original is original.
In the past reading a book in its original language was considered remarkable. We live in an interesting time when you don't even need to know a different language to enjoy the fruits of its culture. I believe that it's a good idea to utilize our time and to watch anime in Japanese audio with English subtitles or without them if you happen to know the language. This goes for anything, not just anime. Original is always the way to go.
Support
Please, support your favorite creators. Japan's culture is somewhat of an underground hobby, especially anime. If you really enjoy an anime, manga, game, book or a movie - it would be great to find a way to thank the people that worked on it. Especially this goes for anime and manga which exists only thanks to us, fans. Be it a figure, a blu-ray disc or a manga translation - I try to support my favorite companies when I can.
